We have now also passed May 1st in our calendar so there are some news regarding our Youth Academy:
- Jamie Black (GK, 51-55 OVR, 72-78 POT): An intriguing 17 Y/O prospect from Scotland who stands at 6'7", 194lbs.
- Kagetoki Miyoshi (DEF/MID, 57-61, 79-85): This 15 Y/O kid from Japan ia someone we're very excited about and may find himself on the team next season, although it might be wise to keep him in the Y.A. for another season.
- Stefan Reichel (DEF/MID, 50-60, 66-80): It's still to early to have a sense of what this 15 Y/O from Germany brings to the table.
- Kenneth Hansen (???, 45-59, 63-85)*: 15 Y/O from Denmark seems like could play anywhere on the pitch except GK.
- Manuel Burchert (MID/ATT, 41-55, 61-83)*: 15 Y/O from Germany.
* Denotes recent addition to the Y.A.
- Jordan Derbyshire has been promoted to the senior squad and comes in at 60 OVR and listed as someone "Showing Great Potential". He's expected to be the starting GK next season for the Daggers.
- Fabian Torres (56 OVR) and Xabi Lopez (55 OVR), demanded to be called up to the senior squad and Paez granted their wish after they spent the whole season in the academy.
I gotta go now! Next post will be a roster review!
Wow looks like history did repeat itself. Portsmouth and chesterfield auto promoted and Plymouth won the playoffs. Gornell even scored 22 goals with Cheltenham, the same amount he scored when I was there too! Crazy stuff man. Congratulations! What a close finish!
I'm really looking forward to seeing how you prepare for League 1 and how Derbyshire handles the pressure of being the starter at such an early stage in his csreer.Comment

I snatched up Varane in the end of the transfer window for 27.4 million USD.
What's happening man?? Just 2 goals in 5 matches, and both of them were in the same match. Good you brought Varane to help out in defense but what's going on up front? Is Klose getting too isolated up field? Maybe a change of formation or there needs to be a change in midfield so they can supply Klose with goal chances. Keep your head up!Comment

The more I think about it I think you can get by in League 2 with a roster that's overall in the low 60's but I feel I'll need a mid 60's roster to get through League 1 and high 60's roster to get through the Championship. With that in mind I do need to take a hard look at my roster at the moment, especially up front I think.vrabbit

Press Conference
Q: The last minute sale of Jack Redshaw came as a surprise to many supporters. Was this a player you were looking to move? You also brought in Mark Sherrod from your old club the Houston Dynamo on loan to replace Redshaw for the time being. Can you tell us anything about this player?
A: The Redshaw deal was an unexpected last minute deal. As part of our due diligence we put a valuation on each of our players in the case that an offer ever does come in for them. The offer that we accepted ended up coming in more than double the valuation we had for Redshaw and it was a deal we just couldn't turn down. We have plans to make use of those funds in January to improve this team going forward. As for Mark Sherrod, I was part of the Houston staff as we evaluated him coming into the Superdraft. He is a striker who plays big and strong which fits the style I want for this squad. I knew the Dynamo would be happy to send him somewhere to get some playing time, and it was a situation that worked well for both sides and I was able to get a player that I am familiar with.
Q: Not the best of starts you could have asked for the start the season. Are you concerned about dropping points early on in the season?
A: It is a bit of a disappointment to be sitting 16th currently, but I am happy that we have been right in most of the games and not just getting beat. Way too many draws, but we can focus on turning those close games into wins going forwards. I am pleased with our cup performances so far advancing in both the Capital One Cup and the J. Paint Trophy. There were still positives to take from this month and we will focus on building around those moving forward into the next month.
Q: Many have started to question your American infusion into the club with several citing you bringing players from what is seen as an inferior league around the world into the squad. What do you have to say to those doubters?
A: American players are stereotyped from the start. Many people don't recognize the growth the MLS has seen over the past several years. It is a league that is worthy of respect now. These players that I brought in are players that I have been personally familiar with having worked over there. I know that they are capable of handling the challenges of this league, and by the end of the season all of those doubters will know that as well.

So that Red Bull career's not happening. Far too dull, I can't get my heart into the team. Gave up right after I lost the third straight friendly and realised I didn't care. I got a couple of ideas but want you guys to tell me what you think before I choose.
1. Malaga – A new consortium takes over the Andalusian club and pays off the debt. Transfer spending will be limited for the first three seasons while the board negotiates better sponsorship and broadcasting deals.
2. Hamburg – The supporters have had enough and elect a new board capable of bringing the club back to its glory days, or at least to a respectable level.
3. Sassuolo – Arguably the most exciting thing in Italy. The owner has bought the club its own stadium, the board is making the most of the financial opportunities, and they have two brilliant forwards in Berardi and Sansone.Comment

Soooooooooooo different. I am finally adjusting to it a little bit. Scoring 2 goals in a game is seemingly an amazing accomplishment now for me. I like it though, it makes the games feel like a more strategic and tactical challenge.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
I'm telling you, you'll get the hang of it, when you score 2 you are more likely to get even 3 and 4. You REALLY have to work to put plays together and into the box (scoring from outside is nearly impossible with these guys). The thing is every miss or close shot hurts that much more ...vrabbit

Yeah having to move the ball around inside the penalty area is a new challenge that I'm finding fun. The Ralte goal against Stevenage was a specific beauty of a goal. I passed the ball into box and then found Ralte cutting inside the box and hit him for a first time strike that was just blasted by the keeper. Just kind of sat back and was like hmmm, so that's how I'm supposed to get it done at this level.Comment

I think I saw the opposing manager, Vrabbit, slipping the official some money before the game... I'll be taking my case up with the FA.

Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
The owner has bought the club its own stadium, the board is making the most of the financial opportunities, and they have two brilliant forwards in Berardi and Sansone.
Never heard of Sassuolo so I too vote for that one! At the same time I always recommend Hamburg. Had a great time with them in '13 and they are still on my list for possible future careers. I'd be happy reading about either of those two!Comment

By the way, how would have the Red Bull career worked? Were you going to simulate the first season and then "take over" the team?
My vote goes to Malaga. They had just two years ago (feels like an eternity) players like Van Nistelrooy, Santi Cazorla, Monreal, Toulalan and Isco. But then came the debts and after the wonderful run in the Champions League year ago Malaga finished now in 11th with a pretty bad team. It would be nice to see them back at the top again.
Yep definitely me! I still stand by it. The two players I scouted from there (with a 1 star scout btw) already have the overall to be starters but lack stamina to start. Hope you find some true gems! Did you have a career in Mexico before Hertha?
I remember Inter made it seem like they had more than 11 players in the field. Impossible to break them down the middle but if you can get past their wide midfielders their extremely vulnerable down the wing. Great work in the league! Surprised to see Bayern and Dortmund in 3rd and 4th and Wolfsburg in 2nd. Are we reaching a new era in German football? :0
And I don't remember the league standings right now (I'm in the beginning of February, the January update will be posted tomorrow. And the transfer window wasn't the most interesting one) but I'm pretty sure Bayern will take over Wolfsburg. To be honest, if Hertha is in first, isn't that already a pretty big thing?-Simppu12-
