I know Mackay-Steven and Armstrong from when I managed Scotland on 14 and they are both talented CAMs with good potential. Dundee also has Çiftçi, who has been a beast for Tex and was previously a nuisance for me, also from my Scotland days. I don't know much about PAOK so not much to say there. Looking forward to seeing your Europa League run!
Cheers, mate. Can't wait to see how we fare against Bayer, but given how we beat PSG last season, I fancy our chances. I'm actually planning to bring a couple of British players to Nantes next summer. Any recommendations from Scotland?

Will be very fun to see how your team copes with having both european competion and the league
Thanks mate. Yeah, the increased workload is why I brought in some extra quality in depth. Seems like everyone knows jack about PAOK, but I've got a month until I face them, so I have my four GTN scouts analysing their entire team.

There is a really young, good and talented scotish left back in Hull City, Andrew Robertson, that I would recommend! Jamie Forest from Celtic is quite good as well, he's a young and pacey right midfielder

        Season 1: 2014-2015: September

        Capital one cup: Round 2:

        Preston – Millwall (1-3)
        • 18’ Cowan-Hall (Gueye) (0-1)
        • 37’ Gueye (Martinez) (0-2)
        • 58’ Gueye (FK) (0-3)
        • 90’ Humphrey (1-3)

Recap: A really well-played game from Millwall who were in full control from the beginning even though they used their reserves for this game against lower league opposition Preston North End.

MOTM: Magaye Gueye: Assisted to the first goal and then did the other two himself and one of them was an amazing free kick from about 30 yards straight into the top corner. He practically won this game on his own. It’s a shame that he competes with Cataldi for the first eleven spot since it’s impossible to put him in the bench due to him being perhaps our best player this season.

        Matchday 4:

        Watford – Millwall (0-2)

        • 26’ Ciftci (Briggs) (0-1)
        • 87’ Cataldi (Wilkinson) (0-2)

Recap: Once again a win from Millwall thanks to their solid defence and really good attacking play from the fullbacks which shows in the fact that the fullbacks got one assist each. Surprisingly enough their assists weren’t crosses but just regular passes within the penalty area that created just enough space to allow their teammates to get a shoot off in a good scoring position.

MOTM: Matthew Briggs: It was a really close one between both fullbacks but Briggs takes the MOTM: Award thanks to his constant hard work up and down the pitch and the amazing assist to the first goal.

        Matchday 5:

        Millwall – Huddersfield (1-0)
        • Williams 90’+ (P) (1-0)

Recap: Yet another impressive defensive display and yet another game where Millwall have struggled to create good scoring opportunities. This time Millwall were saved by a penalty kick at added time but if their attacking play doesn’t get better they will drop a lot of points.

MOTM: Matthew Briggs: Brilliant defensive performance and one of the few players that were threatening going forward.

        Matchday 6:

        Millwall – Nottingham Forest (4-1)

        • 38’ Beevers (Cataldi) (1-0)
        • 44’ Ciftci (Cataldi) (2-0)
        • 61’ Ciftci (Zelalem) (3-0)
        • 79’ Zelalem (P) (4-0)
        • 90’ Blackstock (4-1)

Recap: There was no debate on which team that were the strongest team today, Millwall dominated against Nottingham Forest from the start and if Falaph hadn’t decided to sub out his 3 main offensive players to rest them for the upcoming cup game they could have scored even more goals.

MOTM: Nadir Ciftci: Scored two goals and created a lot of chances and would have scored more goals if not subbed off early in the second half.

        Capital one cup: Round 3

        Millwall – Leicester City (4-0)

        • 22’ Ciftci (Lingard) (1-0)
        • 41’ Ciftci (Cowan-Hall) (2-0)
        • 90’ Ciftci (Cowan-Hall)(3-0)
        • 90’ Ciftci (P) (4-0)

Recap: A completely unbelievable result! The championship side Millwall thrashes the BPL side Leicester City with 4-0! Another surprising thing is that it was well deserved Leicester City barely created any chances while Millwall were extremely effective in their attacks thanks to having a striker in amazing form that scored all four of their goals! Millwall might be on their way to a great season, they are top of the table in the championship as well as seemingly going on a cup run.

MOTM: Nacir Ciftci: What is there to say? Scored all goals in a 4-0 win over a BPL side and single handily kept the Leicester City backline occupied which forced them to always stay back with a few players and the few times they decided to push more men forward, Nacir punished them.

        Matchday 7:

        Ipswich Town – Millwall (0-3)

        • 37’ Cataldi (Ciftci)
        • 54’ Citci (Cataldi)
        • 77’ Cataldi (Martin)

Recap: Yet another amazing performance by Millwall in which Cataldi was the star by scoring two and assisting to the other, the Italian midfielder has been really amazing since arriving from Lazio. He has become somewhat of a fan favourite at The Den due to the combination he has of attacking skills and hard defensive work. With Millwall still undefeated it isn’t hard to understand that the Millwall fans have started chanting the manager’s name around the stadium.

MOTM: Danilo Cataldi for reasons listed in the recap.

        Matchday 8:

        Millwall – Brentford: (3-0)

        • 21’ Gueye (P) (1-0)
        • 26’ Gregory (Upson) (2-0)
        • 67’ Gregory (Gueye) (3-0)

Recap: In what going in to the season would have looked like a really though London derby for Millwall they took a comfortable 3-0 win even though they played with pretty much only their reserve players. Gregory took his chance as he had only his second game from start and scored a wonderful goal, a shot from about 40 yards out straight into the top corner which could possibly be the goal of the season so far and then rounded it up with just slotting the ball past the keeper in a one on one.

MOTM: Lee Gregory: The Millwall striker stood for an amazing performance in which he scored two goals and kept the Brentford defence occupied with his smart runs and strong aerial presence.

FL Championship League Table: (After September)

        1. Millwall - 22 Points
        2. Cardiff City – 18 Points
        3. Wolves – 16 Points
        4. Sheff. Wed. – 14 points
        5. Fulham – 13 Points
        6. Bournemouth – 12 Points

        22. Rotherham Utd – 6 Points
        23. Huddersfield – 5 Points
        24. Leeds Utd – 5 Points

FL Championship top scorers: (After September)

        1. Ciftci: (Millwall) 5 Goals
        Mackie: (Reading) 5 Goals
        Coke: (Sheff. Wed) 5 Goals
        Wilson: (Bournemouth) 5 Goals
        Jones: (Cardiff City) 5 Goals

        September Recap:

September was an amazing month for us with 15 points out of 15 in the league with several very impressive wins with big scorelines, We scored 13 goals in 5 league games which is a big improvement from last month were we only scored 3 goals in 3 league games. Our defence has had yet another impressive month in the league with only one goal conceded. Going into the season I really did not expect that we would sit top of the table after two months and still being unbeaten.

Our performance in the capital one cup has been completely outstanding, Beating Preston North End is perhaps not that impressing but our win against the newly promoted BPL side Leicester City with 4-0 in a game which we dominated from start to finish is very impressing and the best game we have played this season.

The new signings have really started to settle well into the team especially Cataldi and Ciftci who has been absolutely amazing the last month and if they continue like this it might be hard to keep hold of the at Millwall for any longer amount of time.

        Player of the month:

Nacir Ciftci: Ciftci has had an completely amazing month in which he has scored 8 and assisted to 1 goal in only 5 games which is completely unbelievable. I hoped that he would be able to lead us to the playoff places with his goals when buying him and with these kind of performances it seems that I certainly wasn’t wrong.

Interview with The Guardian following Millwall’s successful start of the season:

Q: You have had an amazing first few months as Millwall manager, did you really believe that you would do this well?

A: I have always believed a lot in the players that were in the club when I arrived and with the backing of the Millwall board, I was able to bring in a few high quality players that have been able to lift the team out of its mid table obscurity.

Q: Ciftci has been completely amazing so far this season, did you expect these kind of performances from him this early at a new club?

A: I had a lot of faith in Ciftci so I am not surprised at all that he has been playing very well but as you say he’s still adapting to a new country and a new club so that makes it even more impressive.

Q: Ciftci is definitively not the only one of the new signings that has been playing very well, Cataldi, Zelalem, Trapp, Nicholls have all been playing very well since arriving so is it safe to say that you are very pleased with the transfers you made?

A: Yes absolutely, I am very pleased with the signings I made in the summer, because as you say they have performed very well. I do however also want to give credit to the players that already were at the club because they have been very welcoming to the new players and helping them adapt quickly to a new team, city and in some cases a completely new culture.

Q: Are the success you have had early in this season something that will make your objective higher than a mid-table finish?

A: We have played too few games to draw a conclusion about the rest of the season but as I have said before my aim for the season was competing for the playoff places and that is still where I have my aim.

        End of interview.

All kinds of feedback is greatley appreciated!

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

@jamiec47 - It seems that you are killing it in the Champions League, it will be interesting to see who you will face in the next round. Who would you say is your best player this season?

@moose141 - Going to be completely honest here, I haven't really followed you every episode, yet I am planning on doing that now. I really enjoyed it. I actually didn't know about that loan thing that you talked about with QPR, never really thought about that. You have a really solid team. I also liked the game aswell, it was really tight and interesting to look at. I started shouting when Reid took the shot in the box, I have Reid in UT and I have had that experience aswell. lol.

I thought both goals were actually lucky, I think both of the keepers should have had em. Keep it up!

@indiblue - I actually think Filipe Luis is a fantastic LB, so if he was there instead of Alaba, I'd still be fine with it completely.

Right, about your Nantes career mode - First off, congrats getting into Europa league! I hope you do well there. Winning against Bayer has to be the main thing to do in that group, which I think isn't going to be that easy, but you can pull it off, considering all the big teams you have beaten earlier in the league.

You have had a really good start in the league, surprised how easy the win against Marseille was, but what is even more surprising, is the way Monaco have started, what is up with them?

Anyway, I wish you luck and I hope you will do well, especially in Europa!

@Falaph - First off, welcome to the forums! I hope you enjoy your stay and have fun reading everybody elses career modes!

Now, I gotta say, I love the Millwall pick, I kinda like Millwall, but I think it is because my favorite FIFA Youtuber supports them aswell, lol.

You are absolutely destroying teams, holy. If you keep this up, you will be in the premier league next season. Great game against Leicester, I hope you keep this up!

That's a negative, the 4-3-3 wasn't put into effect until after the Racing Santander match so you'll see how that went in the next update. Surprisingly, Oier has been a great player on the field despite his low overall. He has high enough stamina to help out both in attack and defense, which is why I don't set any instructions for him so he can be a box to box midfielder. I have Camarasa on the bench and he's been doing great. He may jump into the starting lineup in the future, and Oier could possibly take the LB position since that's listed as his secondary position along with RB.

Thanks for the feedback I'm glad you enjoyed the read. I'll do what I can!

Man Bolivia will be a challenge! Really looking forward to seeing how it goes. Will you be focusing on scouting youth players for the national team ?

Taking the reins of AS Monaco would be good to read, even though you would be abandoning me in Spain lol being in the same league as Indi will be fun though, and you'll have the challenge of going for to for with PSG.

In my first game with Bolivia I lost 4-3 to Brazil. I was up 3-0 in the 60th minute then Brazil just went on a tear scoring 4 goals in 30 minutes. Second game I drew 1-1 against Venezuela

                    Glory Glory Man United

                    April 2017

                    Aston Villa 0 - 3 Manchester United
                    Chicharito 26', Benzema 52', 90'

"The guys did a fine job in this game. The defence was strong and the attackers were clinical. It's good to see Chicharito and Karim on the scoresheet. This game was a good warm up for the big and anticipated match against Barcelona in the Champions League. The boys know what they need to do and I believe in them."

                    Quarter Final, Second Leg
                    FC Barcelona (1) 0 - 2 (2) Manchester United
                    Benzema 50', 86'

"Yes, we did it! Manchester United has finally beaten FC Barcelona! We were outstanding in this match and we deserved the victory. Karim did a great job in front of the goal again. The fans deserved this victory more than anyone else because I'm sure they had the two Champions League finals and last season's disappoining quarter final in mind when watching this game. It's a great feeling when you make a successful comeback against one of the biggest teams in the world."

                    Wigan Athletic 0 - 2 Manchester United
                    Lacazette 19', Wilson 52'

                    Simulated.

                    Manchester United 4 - 0 Swansea City
                    Ramos 11', Benzema 34', 89', Vidal 52'

                    Simulated.

                    Semi Final
West Ham United 1 - 2 Manchester United
                    Carroll 54'
                    Wilson 44', Chicharito 115'

"Our second team did an okay-ish job in this important game and thanks to Chicharito we are in our second final of the season! We didn't do well in the first 90 minutes but we were really good in extra time. I'm very happy that we made it to the final. Now we just need to win the last game. Everything else will be a huge disappointment."

                    Semi Final, First Leg
                    Borussia Dortmund 0 - 0 Manchester United

"It's sad that our winning run ended but I'm more annoyed by the way it happened. Neither team did absolutely nothing in this game and I think there were about three shots in the whole game. We really need to be better at Old Trafford if we want to challenge for the biggest club competition."

                    Manchester United 1 - 0 Stoke City
                    Benzema 90'

"It's tough to pick three things that went well in this game. Our defence was solid but that's about it. The biggest thing that happened in the game was that we didn't get a penalty from a clear foul on Raheem Sterling. Luckily for the referee Benz scored in stoppage time and now he has to score only goal to have thirty league goals and three more to break the record."

                    Spoiler

"I have no words right now. This game was simply unbelievable. I thought we would win easily when Wazza scored a free kick but everything changed when Reus scored. I wanted the team to push hard and get an equaliser but the time was running run. That's when Firmino scored with the last touch of the game. I saw the ball go in and I went crazy. We fought hard for the victory and playing in the Champions League final again is a dream come true but we still need to beat Bayern München before completing our quest. Manchester United are back where they belong."

                    Tottenham Hotspur 2 - 2 Manchester United
                    Courtois 84' OG, Rondon 90'
                    Sterling 6', Benzema 57' pen

"Three major things happened in this game: Benzema scored his 30th league goal, we lost our comfortable lead in the last ten minutes and we won the league title with four games to go. I'm very disappointed in the way we lost the lead and I don't understand why Thibaut (Courtois) let the ball in when he could've stopped the pass from Fabio Coentrão. Then he went ahead and passed the ball to Rondon from a goal kick. To be fair that doesn't matter because we secured the title and everyone was full of joy in the dressing room. Now we just need to win all of our remaining games to break a record and to win the quadruple."

                    Player of the Month

                    Karim Benzema

The danger man found his form again and showed his real qualities by scoring eight goals in the month. He also reached the thirty goal mark with four league games to go in the season and he decided the Champions League tie against Barcelona in Man United's favour. Benzema seems to be enjoying his football a lot and the supporters hope that he continues to perform like this next season.

                    Hot or Not

                    Hot

                    Karim Benzema

The man who was chosen as the best player of the month April is also featured on the list of in-form players. Like it was mentioned earlier Benzema scored eight goals and he was an important piece of the United attack.

                    Roberto Firmino

There is exactly one reason why Roberto Firmino makes it to the list and that reason is the fact that he scored the game-winning goal against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League semi final. The Brazilian is a solid midfielder and he plays well when he comes off the bench in the second half of many games.

                    Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney, the captain of the team, makes his first appearance in the list. He has done well in pretty much every game but in April he did a better job. Rooney attacks well, shoots and passes well. He also netted an important goal against BVB in the Champions League.

                    Not

                    Thibaut Courtois

Three mistakes that lead to three goals. That's almost everything Thibaut Courtois did in April. He was positioned badly in Dortmund's goal in the Champions League, he didn't stop Fabio Coentrão's slow pass against Spurs and he passed the ball to the opponent's striker, also against Spurs. April is a month Courtois will want to forget.

No-one else. Everyone else did a good job on the pitch.

                    League Table

                    1. Manchester United, 85 pts
                    2. Chelsea FC, 72 pts
                    3. Arsenal FC, 72 pts
                    4. Tottenham Hotspur, 64 pts
                    5. Liverpool FC, 61 pts
                    6. Manchester City, 61 pts
                    ------------------------------------------------
                    18. Sunderland, 30 pts
                    19. Wigan Athletic, 23 pts
                    20. Cardiff City, 19 pts

@Simppu: The first half of the update was happy press conferences, and the second half, not so much haha. Shame about the Champions League semi, but gives you something to continue to strive for. The longer it takes you to win everything, the more invested into the career you get. Also Benzema has been an amazing signing for you, absolutely has carried the team at many points this season.

Uh, you probably misread the semi final part because I beat Dortmund 2-1 on aggregate with a last-minute goal and I'll play against Bayern in the final. I agree on the other things but I think I'll go back to Verona after this season and continue the career from where I left it off. This time I won't switch teams.

That's a tough one considering I've had 3 different player of the months. I'm gonna say Dzsudzsak right now, he is just so good and has surprised me a lot. I signed him thinking he would be a short term replacement until Aarons comes back but he has been outstanding!

@Indi Would you mind if I used the same format as you did in the West Brom (?) career where you write down the minutes and highlights (like this: 5'- Goal! Person x scores etc.) for the two cup finals in May? I want the finals to look more special instead of just the manager thoughts or the typical match recap.

I want to try if I can get the pictures from FIFA to show. This is one that I have on my flash drive which I decided to use in this test.

Edit: Good, it works. I'll start using in-game images in future updates.
