How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

I hope you guys dont mind a 4 month update (wasnt paying attention to how much I actually played after that nightmare against Valencia)

Game 3 League December 21st 1-0 loss vs Albacete

Not much happened in the January Transfer window basically just loaning out young guys

Game 1: 1-1 Draw away to Real Valladolid

Game 2: 1-0 win Home vs Barca B
Game 3 vs AD Alcorcon 2-1 win
Game 4 vs Sabadell FC 3-1 win

February

March: The Injury bug hits me hard this month with Kadir going down for 3 months with a Medial Collateral Ligament Injury in Game 1.

@Keano16 Thanks! I had originally planed to use FC St. Pauli but since Texasbum just started one with them I'm going to use Millwall. A lot of elderly players and not so much money so unloading all the old guys and bring in some young talent seem like a lot of fun

I chose between them, Brentford and Fulham but Fulham have to good players and to much money for it to be any kind of challenge in the championship and have already done a Brentford career mode not to long ago so therefore it had to be Millwall!

As you may notice I have kind of a soft spot for teams located in London...

First 5 matches: 0 wins, 3 draws, 2 losses.

It's hard in the beginning but you will get used to it and it feels so much more rewarding winning games on legendary compared to World Class or atleast that is the case for me

As Keano said, I just thought I'd elaborate on the incident.

Junior Malanda, 20 years old from Belgium and Wolfsburg's first choice centre midfielder. From what I've seen of him, and from what Wolfsburg fans have said, he is an incredible talent and some have said he has been one of the best players for them this season. They were driving too fast down the Autobahn, Malanda in the back seat. There is a terrible storm hitting Germany, with heavy rain and windspeed of 100km/h. They skidded off, going too fast for the weather, through the rails, down a hill and into a tree. Malanda was catapulted forward and died instantly.

Most of you will know him from FIFA, and I hope this doesn't sound ignorant, but I think that's one of the things that hit me hardest. He was my captain on FIFA 13 on a long term career. 90+ overall. One of my favourite in that career. The fact he had so much potential, was set to be Belgium's next big midfielder, and it's gone. It leaves a lot of what if's. RIP

Most of the people this season might know him for the two misses he had this season, one against Bayern. But for me, he was a fantastic player.

Yes, I haven't followed Wolfsburg too much, I have seen him play a few times and he looked talented. What I can say is that he is a beast in fifa, absolute god. He has been a captain in many of my career modes aswell.

It is sad to think that such a young person has already left us. I can't imagine what the parents might feel.

Hello guys! Right, so first off, I want to clear the air about something.

Yes, there have been offers in for me from different teams like Napoli and PSG, yet none of these offers have actually made it to me. Bentley and the whole board has actually declined these offers - which is great. I don't want to leave, without doing anything here. I want to impact Morecambe before I would ever leave. So, for all of you Morecambe fans - you can sleep in peace, I am not leaving.

What a shot by Corr and what a jump by Hughes!

Right, so our first game of the month was against Southend United, and I was keen on showing the league that my injury did not make me worse. A lot of people voiced their opinion on me last month, saying that I am not strong enough to compete in the English football leagues. I was ready to prove them wrong.

Things went sour, fast. A great cross into our box and Carr hit a nice volley. It was the third minute in. My chance came a few minutes later, yet I missed. I felt the pressuring increasing.

Then, about the 25' minute mark, I did a quick dribble in the box to lose my man and hit in the bottom corner! 1-1 tie! We were not out of it, for sure. 10 minutes later, I got a beautiful ball played to me in the counter that left me 1-on-1 with the keeper - another goal! Confidence was back!

We finished the game 2-1, and I was back to being the highest goal scorer in the league with 15 goals. Coach was right - the rest was good.

Sadly, a familiar sight

Second game of the month was against Stevenage. And it turned out to be a short one.

I got the ball, did a quick turn and got tackled. As I fell down I felt this strong pain in my knee. First thought that went through my head was "Oh no, please say it ain't so!".

I couldn't get up. The coaches rushed onto the pitch, fans were yelling again. I got carried off and again, we rushed into the hospital. Bentley was with me this time - he couldn't believe it. The physio, the fitness coaches - everybody said that I was ready to return.

Well, it turned out that I had sprained my knee, which would result in me missing the whole month of action. Another month was gone, a big one aswell, with us facing Tottenham in the semis.

I just don't know what to type guys. It is depressing. I went through it and it was rough, now I am at it again? It is just lifedraining.

Well, I hope you guys have a good time. I am going to go rest and lie down, since I can't walk. Again. Hopefully I can come back earlier, we will see.

It is extremely rare to see a manager take the goalkeeper out of a match unless it's because of a sending off or injury, but that's Simppu! Benzema scoring 6 goals is incredible I don't think I've ever been able to score that many goals with a single player in any of the recent FIFAs. Sucks to see Chicharito falling off though :/ I liked the "Hot or Not" section of the update. Gives us more info on how the players are performing.

Indi, reading about your cricket experiences and anecdotes is truly interesting. Can't believe you've torn your Achilles. It's never happened to me but I've always considered it one of the worst injuries to have. Have you ever seen the Hostel movies? I can't remember in which one it happened, but there's a scene where a guy uses a tool, can't remember which tool it was, to cut off another guy's Achilles' tendons and then tells him to walk. Man that scene always made me cringe! Just the thought of it. Anyway, I hope you can recover as quickly as possible and you can get back in the game.

Raised the difficulty to legendary, and it's been rough to say the least haha. Luckily, the board's expectations are only to finish mid-table. Just going to take some getting used to.

on the right is the only new face. The bench will be chosen based on the opponents and our approach to individual games.

Call me old-fashioned, but I like my defensive players to focus on defending, and that includes the full backs in this 4-4-2 diamond. Width is a must, but we'll get that from other players, namely the two central midfielders and Serge, who I've instructed drift out wide, hopefully dragging his marker with him. Dani also has license to move into positions away from the middle of the park, which provides ample width in the final third to stretch the opposition. Jordan will be expected to screen the defence, which doesn't mean that he can't play further up the pitch; he just has to make sure he does not overlap with teammates ahead of him, leaving us exposed on counter-attacks.

We'll be moving the ball around slowly, with short and quick passes. Rather than try to barge our way up to the final third, we'll keep possession in midfield, luring opposition players forward before springing our own trap. Once enough of the other team's men are sufficiently in our half, we spring the ball up to Dani, who will try to find one of our forwards making a run in behind the opposition defence. Speaking of defence, our own back four will sit deep, though anyone foolish enough to get too close to them will be on the receiving end of some intense pressure. Ideally, this is only a contingency, and we should be able to recover the ball in midfield through numbers and energy. The plan already worked brilliantly against Lazio, so I'm looking forward to this season!

Serge Gakpe

A lot of offers came in from clubs like Sevilla and Galatasaray, but Serge decided that staying with us would be more beneficial than moving to a slightly more prestigious club. The only offer to turn his head was from Benfica, but the Portuguese champions refused to go a penny over £8.5 million, which is well below the £12 million for which we were prepared to part with our star player. Instead, Serge will play this season as a striker, where his pace and shooting will be useful in helping Younes Marzouk settle in.

Papiss Djilobodji

After deciding mid-season that he wanted to leave in the summer, Papy had a change of heart that we could not overlook. The giant Senegalese sent me an honest message apologising for his behaviour, asking me to consider keeping him on. I asked him to get the support of his captain and teammates, who were more than happy to have a player of his quality stay on. However, we all told Papy that he would need to be more careful in the future about who he associates with, especially if they're going to be in charge of his professional and personal affairs. There was no dicing of words; another problem like this, and he would be off. Papy promised to exercise greater discretion.

Jordan Veretout

Jordan is a local hero. He was born and raised close to the city of Nantes, coming up through the academy and into the first team. We have absolutely no intention of selling him to the likes of Marseille, whose audacious offer of £9 million was quickly turned down. Because of his standing among fans and love for the club, I've decided to make Jordan vice-captain. Everyone is eager to watch him assume responsibility with conviction and passion, and seeing him become one of France's world-class lads.

Danilo Cataldi

Can you imagine getting a call for Jurgen Klopp asking if we would accept £8 million for Dani? When I said it was out of the question, he offered £12 million. When I said no again, he made it £15 million. This kid is already such a good player, but he's going to be one of the world's best a few years from now. The transformation I've seen has been remarkable. After such a poor start to life in France, he's really turned things around, and I expect him to do amazing things on this season. How exciting!

Anthony Knockaert

What can I say about Anthony? There's really been nothing to complain about. Even if he has a tendency to give the ball away in the final third, the kid gave us a very decent goal return for a winger. For some reason, he just never really felt like working out for us. Monaco weren't willing to take too big a risk on him despite making £50 million from the Falcao sale, but we didn't want to hold the kid back, so I agreed to part with him cheaply. He's a good player, so I hope he enjoys himself at his new club.

Marseille

We're looking forward to opening our season against such a prestigious opponent. I think we managed to score six or seven goals against them last season, and I'd love to grab another few in this game. Lucas Deaux and Fernando Aristeguieta are still out with injuries, though Nando should be back in training towards the end of the month, which is a huge boost for us in attack. I love a good selection headache, and there's nothing better than struggling to pick which of your in-form strikers should start!

Zulte-Waregem

We're up against one of Belgium's finest teams, who we need to beat over two legs if we want to compete in the group stages of the Europa League. I'm looking forward to seeing how my players handle their first taste of European football at this club, and if the past season is anything to go by, we should be up against three other teams come September. We'll need to be careful, though. Underestimating this team would be the most disastrous way to end our chances of a European campaign before it starts.

Youth Academy

Alexi Aguilar: 52-58 OVR/71-79 POT
Alexi is the most athletic of France's young centre back prospects, but that may not be enough. He's still just 15, so time is on his side. I think he will make it next year.

Toifilou Cioni: 55-59 OVR/73-79 POT
The jury is still out on Toifilou. He's got the pace and power we expect of a winger, but his technical skills and stamina leave a lot to be desired. We'll wait on this one.

Julien N'Sikulu: 41-49 OVR/72-86 POT
A very strong centre back in the mould of Papiss Djilobodji, Julien has all the tools needed to succeed at the top. He's only 15, so it'll be a while before he graduates.

Paul Perez: 58-64 OVR/77-85 POT
Paul is physically imposing but athletic; he plays best in attacking midfield. We hope to promote him to the first team in summer 2016, by which time he should be 17.

That's a lot of new players brought in, but I love how you wanted to go after certain types of players, and then made it happen. Can't wait to see how they all fit in for you. With that many, some will surely be amazing, and there may be one or two busts.

On the positive side we attacked well and Wayne (Rooney) ended his goal drought with a beautiful free kick. Karim (Benzema) was great again and won the game for us. I'm sure our playing will improve at Old Trafford in front of the home fans."

"We have finally done it! It took a year and a half but Man United and I have finally one competition! It felt great to face our big rivals in the final and I'm very happy about how the game went. We played like a real team and controlled the game. City didn't have a single shot in the game. We had some chances in the first 90 minutes but we didn't take them. I was sure that we would score in extra time and when it happened five minutes after the beginning I felt amazingly. Ten minutes later Karim got his brace from a good pass by Sterling which made the evening even better. One down, three to go."

Player of the Month

Karim Benzema

The dangerous and in-form attacker scored a double hattrick in one game and he decided the cup final, shouldn't that be enough to be chosen as the player of the month? And if it wasn't enough Benzema netted six more goals which brings his total amount of goals in February to an unbelievable twelve goals.

Hot and Not of February

Hot

Karim Benzema

Benzema was the player of the month which means that he had a very good month and that leads to him being first in the 'hot' category. Twelve goals in six appearances is a terrific tally. The French striker still continues to perform amazingly and be the biggest and most important attacking player of the team.

Sergio Ramos

The Spanish defender is a player who does well even when he is having a bad day. He tackles, marks his man, intercepts passes, clears the ball and heads the ball. Ramos is simply a complete defender and he has been important at the back.

Raheem Sterling

This youngster broke into the starting eleven right after he was signed in the summer and he is the reason behind Angel Di Maria spending a lot of time on the bench. Sterling is pacy, skillful, talented and he has an eye for goal. Usually it's hard to reach a top level after a long injury but Sterling has been a better player after his injury.

Not

Thibaut Courtois

February is a month that Man United's star keeper Tibaut Courtois will want to forget. He got benched in a few games and the climax was the game against Schalke in which he got substituted off only twenty minutes into the game. The Belgian 24-year-old didn't make almost any saves and he needs to find his form quickly.

James McCarthy

James McCarthy, who was meant to be the new Roy Keane, has been struggling a lot lately. The Irish holding midfielder started four games in February and he failed to shine in any of them. McCarthy often forgot to mark his man and he attacked too much leaving space behind.

Javier Hernandez

Javier Hernandez, also known as Chicharito, had a very successful season in the 2015-16 campaign but this season he hasn't been as good. The Mexican attacker doesn't get involved too much and he hasn't gotten that many assists and goals lately.

Craig Woodman wins the ball on the half-way line and picks out an amazing pass for Jake Sinclair on the right. Sinclair just keeps the ball going out of play and the goalkeeper rushes out. Sinclair crosses into the middle where Ajeti nods home. A truly amazing pass by Woodman there!

Exeter City threaten early on in the match and Ajeti sprints down the left to cross into Cummins but the defender, Jonathan Hogg, collides into Cummins and is brought down. The referee thinks it’s a penalty. Craig Woodman takes the penalty and puts it into the top right corner. The goalkeeper goes the right way but just can’t get a hand to it.

EXE – Ajeti (34’)

Appiah receives the ball on the left and uses his pace to get some distance between him and the defenders. Appiah drifts into the middle and shoots with his left foot and it hits the post of the inside corner of the goal. The goalkeeper is left helpless as he watches the rebound fall to the head of Ajeti who puts the ball into an empty net.

EXE – Cummins (44’)

Flannigan gets the ball on the edge of the box and passes it to Cummins who dribbles past the whole defence before smashing it past Alex Smithies. This just seems too easy for Exeter...

EXE - Appiah (80’)

Appiah receives the ball on the half-way line by Woodman. Appiah instantly passes to Ajeti and sprints down the wing. Ajeti returns the ball to Appiah and because of his pace; there are no defenders next to him. Appiah drifts into the box and cuts inside before bending the ball around the goalkeeper and into the net. A great goal by Appiah there!

Michael Higdon receives the ball on the left of the penalty area where he delivers a low cross into the corridor of uncertainty. James Wallace sticks out his foot and manages to poke the ball into the net.

EXE –Eastmond (52’)

Only two minutes after coming on for Flannigan, Eastmond collects the ball from Ajeti’s pass and skips past to challenges. Eastmond is one-on-one with the goalkeeper and leaves it a little late but he just manages to poke the ball under the goalkeeper to give Exeter City a lifeline.

EXE – Watkins (61’)

Ajeti receives the ball on the half-way line, spins and slots the ball into the path of Ollie Watkins who has only been on the pitch for two minutes! Ollie beats the last defender for pace and he coolly puts the ball into the bottom corner past the sprawling goalkeeper.

EXE –Ajeti (84’)

Craig Eastmond makes a spectacular sliding tackle to win the ball back in the midfield. The ball goes to Cowan-Hall who sprints down the wing and he manages to deliver a cross along the ground to the back post where slides in to poke the ball into the net.

Our Best Performer: Albian Ajeti (Albian got the winning goal and he also set up the other two goals. Credit to Craig Eastmond who changed the whole course of the game when he came on.)

EXE – Sinclair (PEN) (22’)

Sercombe picks out a great ball to the left where Appiah collects and turns inside. Jordan Clark runs straight into Appiah and also gives him a forceful push. Appiah goes down in the box and it’s a penalty. Sinclair takes the penalty. He goes left and he clips the inside of the post before the ball goes over the line. Exeter City are winning the battle of the promoted teams at the moment.

EXE –Sercombe (58’)

The ball is passed back to Callum Burton who takes an awful touch, allowing the pressing Liam Sercombe to slide in and poke the ball past the goalkeeper and across the line.

SHR – Griffith (71’)

James Collins has the ball on the left and delivers a low cross in from the left. The ball goes past the stretching Mabil and Griffiths is at the back post to roll the ball over the line.

Our Best Performer: Liam Sercombe (It was a difficult decision because no one really stood out but Sercombe did rule the midfield and made many challenges.)

Just before half-time Colchester equalise after Marcus Bean plays a lovely ball over the top of the defence to Freddie Sears who smashes past Mabil at his near post.

Our Best Performer: Glen Mabil (Glen has been putting in some amazing performances since joining from the youth squad. He made ten saves that match and was extremely important to the team.)

CAM –Simpson (5’)

Simpson puts Cambridge in the lead against a team in sparkling form. Simpson receives the ball from a clearance and he hits the ball on the volley and the half turn to make the ball dip over Glen Mabil and into the net. A contender for the goal of the cup.

EXE –Sercombe (Two Yellows) (37’)

Sercombe receives his marching orders as he keeps niggling at the heels of every player on the ball.

EXE –Sinclair (PEN) (50’)

Appiah sprints into the middle where a leg trips him and he falls. Sinclair sweeps the ball over the diving goalkeeper for a coolly finished penalty.

EXE – Ajeti (93’)

A cross from Cowan-Hall is cleared by the Cambridge defence. Ajeti receives the ball on the left and manages to cut in and hit the ball into the top of the far corner. Exeter are finally in the lead...

Ollie is on fire whenever he comes on as a substitute!

Q: On top of Bennett’s story, there are also rumours that Jamie Reid has declined his new contract.

A: As I said when the Bennett situation came up, it is still early days but yes, he has expressed some concerns about signing a new contract.

Q:I have to mention the Elephant in the room. Why has Graham Cummins gone after having one of the best seasons of his life?

A:I think he deserves first team football and hopefully AJ Auxerre will give him that. I simply won’t be able to give him that now that Albian (Ajeti) and Jake (Sinclair) have come into the team. Also, his expected transfer value is one hundred and thirty thousand pounds and I managed to sell him for four hundred thousand pounds which is a massive bonus.

A: Only one, hopefully I will be able to get him in January if I can collect enough funds.
