Saw you bought Ciftci! He has been a total beast for me so I think he will be a really good addition to your team!
What are your aim for the season? Promotion? Since You have really started to pick up a lot of points.
Thanks! Ciftci was a guy that I grabbed back in FIFA 14 and he absolutely tore it up for me in my old Morecambe career, becoming my first unstoppable striking option. Wanted to bring him back in 15, but never had enough budget to pull it off with Exeter.

The board only set the expectations at mid-table, so I think I am pretty safe for the season in that regardless of what happens the next few months.

Are you posting from your phone or on a computer? On my phone the way I center it is by typing "center" but in brackets [ ] at the very beginning of the post, and then at the very end I type "/center" but also in brackets [ ]. Hope that helps!

I would try guessing at the goal scorers but I'm not sure I understood. Did you win 5-2 or lose 5-2? Lol

That Bilbao match would have really annoyed me, but I think it's just a sign of how superior their squad is to yours. I mean, to have a 3 man advantage and still just barely get a draw plus with your goalkeeper being MOTM, that pretty much means that even with 3 men down they were still on top of you. Don't feel too bad though, Bilbao is a top table team. Would you mind posting the league table in your next update to give us a better picture of how you're doing in the league? Even just a photo of the league table would suffice. Just a suggestion. Keep it up!

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Man, there is so much to catch up. Apologies in advance if I happen to miss out on someone!

@Simppu Things seem to be going just perfect at United. You have enough world-class depth that if one player doesn't perform, someone of similar quality can come in to do the job. I'll be disappointed if you don't win the treble with this kind of talent.

@10cabee Mate, I really like your signings. You brought in a couple of unknown but decent players. If you need a bit of extra pace, might I recommend Georges-Kevin Nkoudou from Nantes. He's a great player and should be available for a few hundred grand, which should be ideal for you.

@Tex Yes! I knew you would be able to make the jump and adjust to it. A poor start has now turned into a good run to the top of the table, which I fully expect you to keep up. Am I right in thinking the higher difficulty has you playing with more technique and less pace/athleticism? That was the case for me. Before that, I tried too hard to get the ball up the pitch quickly, and I kept losing to really weak sides. Also, I have to agree somewhat with Jamie. I do prefer the written posts, but it's a lot easier to get a quick recap through your graphic updates. Nonetheless, glad to see you have come back to the written updates.

@Keano Yes, I see a lot of similarities with West Brom as well. Gakpe is my equivalent of Redmond, and Djilobodji is doing what Lescott did, which is make sure we have a strong foundation. I like your progress with Swansea, too. The 5-0 against Sunderland was fantastic, and I like that league table. Hope you don't mind if I do something similar?

          @Cruzerr
Another incredible read. Interesting that PSG and Napoli came in for you. I don't see that happen too often, where top European teams go in for League Two players, but you are a special talent. Sad to hear about the knee injury. Hopefully, you don't lose too many attribute points from these setbacks.

@Chico I'm feeling the Osasuna career already. Your first post was really packed with pessimism, but I knew you would come around after a game or two, and you did! I think your signings were decent enough. Have a look at the free agents, too. There are a couple of decent players in there, who can do a job for you at least until you reach the top division, at which point you can sell them for a million each. Yeah, the Achilles is probably one of the most frustrating injuries I've ever had, and that's saying something considering I once shattered my femur into 16 pieces in a motorcycle accident. But hell, if I can come back from that and play semi-professional cricket, I can probably make it past this.

@Falaph Welcome aboard, mate. Millwall should be an interesting career. Glad to see you got on the Cataldi bandwagon. He really is a fantastic investment, buying for so cheap and being able to sell for £12-15 million after just one season! It's a great tactic for anyone in the second division of a league, even if they don't plan on holding onto him for the long-term. Speaking of Millwall, we (Chelsea) might face them in the FA Cup, if they beat Bradford City. It'd be the first Chelsea-Millwall game since '95, and I'm thinking of booking tickets to London to watch the match. Should be a proper time with all the portly old geezers in their finest! Can't wait to see the Guv'nor kick lumps out of their back four.

@Kenny I like your transfer targets. They're all very realistic, except maybe Tiote, because in honesty who actually wants him? Still, I look forward to seeing who you bring in to strengthen the defence. If you want a good CDM, I recommend Liam Bridcutt. He's British, too, so that should be an added incentive.

@Jagger You should know that Ron Harris, Steve Clarke, Eddie McCreadie and Peter Osgood all played their last professional games for us. JT and Drogba look like retiring with us as well. Don't judge an entire club by the actions of one player.

@Jamie That's high praise mate, I appreciate it! Was nice speaking with you as well, and I think that's one of reasons we all get along so well. We've never met, but we're not complete strangers, you know? Yeah, the Sunderland career was pretty intense. I wish I could have completed that one. Maybe I'll go back to England later on. We'll see how it pans out.

Awwww yeah Çiftçi is back! I always hated playing against him when I managed Scotland, but I love seeing him destroy the opposition under your command. Greece was a tough opponent for me and he was the main reason. I'm a bit on the fence regarding your update style. Jamie is right as in the template doesn't allow enough details, but at the same time the template was faster to read. I still enjoy your written updates though. I'm sure a lot of us will get even more hooked into the career now that you'll be adding more details on to it.

I'm really interested in seeing more from the twins when they arrive next season. I like how you brought in both of them instead of just one. I had the Murphy twins at Wimbledon, but Jacob was way past Josh as far as talent on the field. Looking forward to seeing the twins dominate German football! Hopefully.

Amazing how you're in 1st place after such a difficult start to the season. Looks like Legendary is a piece of cake for you now!

Quilmes Atletico Club Career Mode: August Preview

                      August 9th, 2014

                      KV Kortrijk @ Quilmes

First preseason game at home against a Belgian side, I plan on playing a few youngsters as I don't want any injuries also since it is a home game I will play on professional and see how things go

                      August 12th, 2014

                      Quilmes @ FC St. Pauli

Interestingly enough I see that texasbum06 is it? is doing a career mode with them. Since this game is away from home I plan on playing on World Class. This will be a tough game in Germany.

                      August 15th, 2014

                      Mjallby AIF @ Quilmes

Since this is a home game I plan on playing mostly a starting squad that will resemble my opening day starting 11. Since this is a home game I will play on professional. I will see how games go on world class as all away games so far will be on WC.

                      August 20th, 2014

Torneo Inicial Season Opener: Quilmes Atletico Club @ Newell's New Boys

Again like I stated an away match which means WC. I will hopefully start my fully fit squad. Newell's have won the league 6 times with the latest being in the 2013 final. So they are more successful than us. A result would go a long way here.

                      August 24th, 2014

Florencio Varela @ Quilmes Atletico Club

The home opener will go a long way if we could get 3 points. FL. Varela are a relatively new club just being promoted to the Primera Division. This game will be played on Pro.

                      August 27th, 2014

Quilmes Atletico Club @ Club Atletico Lanus

Club Atletico Lanus is anouther team much like Quilmes who are pretty old. They are celebrating its 100th year so they expect big things this year. They have 1 title coming in 2007 but also have 2 international titles from the 90's to their name, they are a dangerous opponent.

                      August 30th, 2014

Rosario Central @ Quilmes Atletico Club

Rosario Central come in before the end of the month to take on Quilmes. Rosario Central will be tough match as they finished 8th last year.

                      Thoughts

Well with 7 games in 28 days, It seems as if we are in for a tough month especially with limited player selections except at striker. Hopefully I can make it to the January transfer window with no injuries(what a pipe dream). I will be looking into the free agent pool for help at right back and possibly in the wide mid field areas. I mostly look forward to getting possibly all home wins, and aiming for draws away from home.

                      Stay tuned, thanks for reading

Don't think there is anything wrong with it, TBH. The club and manager gave him a deal that would decrease his playing time, which is a must now. He didn't want to stay on in a limited role, so he decided to leave. Him staying and playing every game would hurt you even more next season. In fact, given the way Lampard handled his own departure, I have to give Gerrard and LFC credit for being honest and transparent from day one. Sometimes you just don't get your fairytale ending, and despite all the banter, I have nothing but respect for your captain. He has his flaws, but so does everyone else. He played his heart out for the club and won you some big trophies, so everyone involved can and should look back on his career as an achievement, rather than focusing on the one trophy he didn't win.

With Lampard, the reason so many of us are upset is because he said he would never play for a PL club, but apparently "circumstances change". In my opinion, if you say you are Chelsea through and through, you should be ready to forego playing at the top for the sake of the club. Putting his own personal ambition proves he doesn't love the club the way he said he did. The lying is what pisses me off about Lampard/City. If he'd been honest and said he's moving to City, we would have been angry for a bit, but most of us would have come around after some time. Now, I question everything he did for Chelsea, whether he really loved the club or if it was all for his own glory. Every new statement from him seems like PR bull, and I'd know. I've been working publicity for about a decade now.

The Lampard situation hurt because I was one of the people who invested so much time and energy and love into him. He was my idol; I forgave him and his scumbag agent for holding the club to ransom when they leveraged Inter's interest in 2009 for that huge contract. But whatever. I'm more focused on the players we have now. For me, I will always respect Lampard, but he's not a legend in my eyes anymore. A great player, but he'll not be a legend, even if some people turn a blind eye to the last few months. Drogs and JT... now those are legends.

I'll probably also never invest so much emotionally in a footballer ever again, not the way I did with Lampard, which is sad. I've been told by Milan fans that I have the kind of passion and mania that would make me a perfect Serie A ultra. But that's life. Not everyone backs up their claims like Henry and Drogba did. Not everyone is a Tony Adams or a Maldini or a Puyol.

Be nice to hear what any other CFC fans here think of the Lampard situation.

I'm not a Chelsea fan but from what you say of Lampard never playing for another PL team gain and then signing with ManCity is, in my eyes, a big FU to Chelsea.

It is certainly a lot more technique now. On World Class I could just hit my fast players on counters all of the time and run past the back line. That was really the main reason I switched to Legendary. It was becoming too easy to score, and I would normally lead the league by a wide margin in goals.

Weird side effect though, my defense has gotten better during the switch!

Thanks, I'm glad that Jamie said something since I did feel like something was missing because I couldn't add as much as I used to. Was weird not giving game recaps, and to be slightly more limited in my press conference responses. Was especially hard with a new club when you are trying to develop your own story for the club.

And of course I brought both over! I'm not cold-hearted like United splitting up twins left and right!

I'm looking forward to them as well. Two versatile players with pace. What more could I want! I'm sure I'll find a place for them.

Wow, you have done amazingly in the last few months to climb to first. I think that you will continue to play like this and you'll win the league by a good margin. It's good to see Ciftci back with you, hopefully he can be the same monster he was on FIFA 14. Also, in my opinion the newspaper/graphic look is better for the regular months and this style is better for transfer windows and special months with finals in them.

Not like the early days when there were people fighting over teams and unrealistic transfers and common signings. Since Next-gen came out, this thread became so pleasant and there has only really been one argument. #FatherJamie2014
I agree with you on this one. I also like this thread a lot, it's so nice that we are basically a really big family where we care about each other, talk about stuff in our lives and joke a lot. You guys really make me want to improve my updates as much as I can and this thread makes the career mode experience a lot more interesting. The most interesting part is that we are complete strangers but we have formed some kind of a friendship between us and we know things about each other. It's hard to explain but I'm sure you get what I mean. By the way, I guess you mean that the Great War of 2014 is the one argument?

Your writing is great and you always worry about your English. You write better English than the majority of English/American people do!!
I'm glad you're enjoying it! And don't act like I have signed everyone from Liverpool, it was just two good and important players :P Thanks a lot for the compliments, they really mean a lot!

Yes, I may have enough world class talent but some players just underperform all the time, McCarthy and Di Maria for example. The other positions are sorted out well but those two need some improvement. You won't be the only one who will be disappointed if I don't win the treble. To be honest I'm aiming for the quadruple right now. There are three (technically two because the Premier League is almost mine) left.

I'm thinking about continuing the Verona career from where I left it after this season with ManU because I'm afraid that the next season won't be enjoyable because of all the possible success and the great team. What do you guys think?
