Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Does anyone else notice a massive difference in gameplay since the 1.06 title update on X1/PS4? There are a few specific differences to mechanics that I've noticed.
1. Passes often fall short of their intended target, even if you power them up nearly all the way. Increasing pass speed might help, but this seems more like a mechanics issue. Whatever the problem, it's almost impossible to keep the bulk of possession. I used to average 60-65% per match, and now I only get around 48-52%. Pass completion for me used to be around 85-88%, and that has fallen to 77-82%.
2. It's almost impossible to dribble. Even players like Hazard and Messi feel heavy, clunky and cumbersome. Acceleration seems almost completely nerfed, and the first few steps with even the most agile and balanced of players is like Lukaku's first touch in a 10x gravity setting. Of course, none of this applies to the CPU.
3. CPU pressure is at insane levels. Even teams like Preston tackle perfectly while pressing with 2-3 players against your man with the ball, and teams like Roma and Chelsea are almost impossible to play against. You end up spending half the game passing in your own half to avoid losing the ball, and even that doesn't always work.
4. On the off chance that you manage to tackle and dispossess an opponent, he gets up and back onto the ball faster than your player can move two inches to it. There's virtually no way to reliably dispossess the opposition and keep the ball, especially in the box where even fully powered-up clearances end up going 10-15 yards at best.
5. First touch seems to have become incredibly heavy. I used to glide with Hazard on 90 first touch error, but even he takes three or four heavy touches before starting to run properly. We all know how much BS that is for a player of his calibre.
The game feels almost unplayable. My last four results have been W 2-1, W 2-0, W 2-1, L 1-0. Despite the positive results, I haven't been enjoying the game. Everything feels slow, heavy and cumbersome. I understand that not every player can glide around like Giovinco, but when Hazard starts to feel like Akinfenwa, you know something's up.Check out my Pitt Panthers Dynasty (NCAA Football 14)

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Well coz of my internet limits I just skipped to the goals.... My what a strike by Kouyate!!! Absolute belter I must say. That deflection at the end....oh my, It was heartbreaking to see that Leno just couldn't reach it. Great away point however. How's the group looking?
Every time I watch one of your updates I'm treated to some phenomenal goals. Kouyate's strike was amazing, but my favorite has to be Dybala's. That outstanding set up and then the smooth finish. Your playmaking gets better with each video I watch and you use pretty much every feature available on the controller. There are some things you've mastered that I hardly even use such as the low cross (that's the one where you press the cross button 2x right? Or is it 3x?) Bayern were completely on top but Leno had a remarkable match. Looking forward to the return match!
EDIT: Forgot to point out that I liked how you avoided switching players too much while defending. I know that for many of us our first instinct is to switch players as soon as the opponent makes a pass, but it's really important we instead stay on the same player and first make sure there's no unmarked man/area before we switch. Nice work man!

Also, thanks for the props on defending! Yeah, I try to stay in control of my DMs for the most part, though I use my fullbacks a lot and my CBs on occasion, though I like to play as the DM primarily and use the R1 button which has the CPU defender pressure the ball when I'm not the man covering the player on the ball. The CPU doesn't do badly IMO when using this tactic and I feel it keeps you from a lot of the silly defensive mistakes when being too aggressive.Check out my Pitt Panthers Dynasty (NCAA Football 14)

How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
November 2017 - International Friendlies
FIFA 15 (PS4)
Mexico (B-Team) 2 - 0 Paraguay
MEX: Davila 6' Torres 37'
Minor adjustments made to the squad compared to last month, with Erick "Cubo" Torres replacing Raul Jimenez next to Carlos Fierro and Ulises Davila making his first start for Mexico. Early on in the match, Paraguay committed a foul on the edge of their box after receiving a booking only a few minutes prior to that, and it was Osasuna's Davila who asked for the ball. Davila made the most of his chance and curled the ball over Paraguay's wall, placing it well into the net with the Paraguay goalkeeper unable to reach it. Mexico had taken the lead and Davila had scored his first ever goal with the Mexico senior team!!
A huge accomplishment for the Mexican forward who has had a huge breakthrough in his career since joining Osasuna from Tenerife. Mexico controlled the match and in the 37th minute they broke the net again, this time with Rodolfo Pizarro sprinting down the right wing, crossing the ball, and finding Torres who headed the ball into the net putting his trademark on the match.
Mexico held their dominance throughout the entire ninety minutes and prevented Paraguay from creating danger. Paraguay only had one shot in the entire match (in the 84th minute) and it was off target. El Tri controlled possession and outshot their opponent. An excellent result for the B-Team that is filled with players hoping to make the World Cup squad list.
United States 2 - 2 Mexico
MEX: Chicharito 8' 42'
USA: McInerney 60' Serna 90'
While Mexico came to Uncle Sam's with their top players, Texasbum fielded a B-Team to face their arch-rivals. The biggest surprise in Texasbum's starting eleven was the inclusion of Osasuna's own youth graduate Eriq Lisch (74 OVR), who is currently on loan at SC Freiburg, as the starting goalkeeper for USA. Lisch would have been hoping to impress his parent club's manager Chavez, but he was outwitted by Mexico's Chicharito Hernandez early on in the match. Lisch had sent a goal kick far up the pitch, but Hector Moreno won the aerial battle for it in midfield. Moreno used his head to pass the ball to Hernandez, who dribbled up the field and then took an amazing long shot that soared into the back of the net! Impossible for 17 year old Lisch to reach!
The ball wasn't even in yet and Chicharito was already heading to the fans to celebrate, knowing that it was an unstoppable strike. Mexico continued to create danger, with Lisch making one great save from a shot by Herrera. A few minutes before halftime Lisch would suffer by Hernandez's work again, with the Little Pea using his incredible individual skills to beat his markers, engage Lisch one on one, and then smoothly put the ball into the back of the net.
A great game for Mexico so far but a nightmare for Lisch and it didn't seem like getting better any time soon. The second half was a different story though, with USA coming out more motivated than ever and playing with more intelligence. Fifteen minutes into the second half the Americans got one back, with McInerney scoring off a wonderful volley inside the box. The match went on 2-1 for the majority of the second half and neither team was able to get on top of the other. It wasn't until the 90th minute, the final play of the match, that USA managed to equalize with Serna finishing the play with a first touch shot inside the box. An amazing comeback for USA when Mexico had been the better side the entire first half. Hats off to Texasbum and his management staff.
Conclusion
I had initially prepared this for the beginning of my next Osasuna update, but thanks to recent feedback we decided that it is best I separate the posts. This was our last international break of the year, with the next break not coming until March of 2018. That will be the only international break left before the World Cup in the summer. Overall I'm very confident. I think I've found the right players for the job and I only hope that we see some overall boosts in May.
I was really surprised to see Eriq Lisch starting for USA. I couldn't believe it! He made one or two good saves and Chicharito's goals were inevitable so I can't blame him for them. He hasn't grown in any stats so far, but I'm not surprised since he is a goalkeeper.
That's all for this international break. In March we will face Portugal at the Azteca and then visit the Republic of Ireland. Osasuna update will be coming up in the next few days, just need to finish typing it up.
Thanks For Reading!

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Outstanding finish to the season and congratulations on your promotion! I think you were right in declining the offer from Germany. You just got promoted to the BPL, your career with Nottingham is barely starting! Powell had an amazing finish, and you have an option to buy on him right? It would be great if you can afford it and bring him back. I doubt United will give you problems with that since he won't be even close to their starting eleven. Your academy is looking really nice with a few players ready to compete with the senior team. Your Greek goalkeeper caught my eye, as he seems ready to take the starting spot after your current starter returns to Newcastle. It would be risky, an amateur fresh out of the academy starting in the premier league, but personally I would consider it especially with the limited budget the board will surely hand you. Looking forward to your premier league transfer window!
Also congrats on the Venezuela job, but it sucks you won't be able to pick your squad going into the Copa America which is extremely competitive. "The legend Chavez" hahaha thanks man! I appreciate it and good luck! With the right players, Mexico's 5-3-2 can be dangerous!

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Yes, this was a long update but I do not think that there's too much going on at all. It's quite simple in my opinion: a few images of the goals and nice writeups. That's it.
Then to the results. A real up and down month in both league play and CL play and the Champions League situation is looking very unfortunate. It sucks that progressing doesn't depend entirely on you and knowing EA you're screwed. The league table isn't looking that good but you'll climb to the top, I know it.
Getting back into the Champions League will be tough, but I think my boys can pull it off. My main concern is, as you mentioned, EA. We all know that EA just loves to come in and f*** everything up whenever they can. So I wouldn't be surprised if Borussia end up thrashing City with a messed up scoreline like 6-0 or something and mathematically eliminate me even if I get the win at Napoli.
2 good wins with Mexico and it's great to see Chicharito scoring! The USA game will be interesting I'm sure. An up and down month with Osasuna. Riesgo was incredible with that many open play penalty saves! Shame that the attacking part of the team couldn't get going. Atleti, Granada and Levante were good results while you struggled against Elche and in the Champions League. It'll be an interesting finish to the group and I hope to God that you can somehow get the results you need. Good to see that you have found a new formation that Campana seems to work in. I hope Bigas can work in midfield and that Gomez can be an important player with the B Team.
I think that Mexico and Osasuna would be better in separate posts but I love your detail so please don't change that!

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Might just have been a weird couple of games for you mate, I know I can have the odd spell of FIFA where everything just seems to be going the wrong way, but overall it still feels really solid to me. I haven't had to adjust my sliders in a couple months and if you've seen any of my recen videos you see that you can still fly past players with skilled quick players like I did with Dybala recently. Not to dispute you, but just to give you hope that I haven't had those same issues!Comment

Venezuela will be a challenge and it didn't go well in the Copa America at all.
Great to see your boy Davila score for Mexico in a solid 2-0 win. Good result against USA and Lischj too. Glad that you feel confident for the World Cup.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Parma announce new coach
Parma FC today unveiled Indi Blue as the club's head coach during a media event at the club's training complex in Collecchio. Indi joins Parma from the English second division side Brighton & Hove Albion, where he assisted a number of managers in successive promotion campaigns.
"I'm excited to have this opportunity to work with one of the biggest clubs in Europe," Indi said. "I know I have to live up to the expectations that people have of me, especially since the new board has just invested millions of euros in the club. But when you get a chance to lead one of the most prestigious teams on the continent, you don't turn it down."
"The president (Marco Bonucci) has already invested almost €100 million euros to bring the club into good financial shape, and he will continue to finance the recruitment of some fantastic players," said Director of Football Roberto Donadoni.
Ducali splurge on three major signings
Parma today confirmed that they have signed three major players in order to improve their chances of qualifying for next season's Europa League. All three signings were confirmed by Director of Recruitment Lillian Thuram on July 19.
Moussa Sissoko becomes the first big name to join the club following Marco Bonucci's considerable investment, the midfielder signing from Newcastle United for €12 million on a three-year contract worth €80,000 per week. Joining from Ligue 1 side Toulouse is French forward Wissam Ben Yedder. He puts pen to paper on a four-year deal at €50,000 per week, completing his €10 million transfer after falling out with Dominique Arribagé. The third and biggest signing is that of Simone Zaza, who joins from nearby Sassuolo for close to €15 million. The strong Italian striker is the long-term future of Parma's attack, signing a five-year deal worth €13 million.
Two more in the bag for Parma, Gobbi leaves
On the back of their €37 spending spree on three players, Parma announced that they have secured two more names for a combined €8.5 million. Lillian Thuram once mor confirmed the news in his role as director of recruitment.
Silvan Widmer of Switzerland joins from Udinese for €5.5 million, sealing his transfer by signing a four-year contract worth €20,000 per week after finding his options limited in Fruili-Venezia. The other new face is Maxwell Cornet. The 17-year-old French forward is a graduate of Olympique Lyonnais' famed academy, and joins Parma for €3 million on a five-year contract worth €10,000 per week.
Massimo Gobbi was confirmed as the only major departure from Parma this summer, joining Empoli for €500,000. The left back was made surplus to requirements after Widmer's arrival, prompting him to seek a new challenge. Deals to offload Daniele Galloppa and exchange Antonio Mirante failed to go through at the last minute due to issues during the negotiation process between Parma and Besiktas.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
@Indi: Some very good signings and Zaza looks the best. How do you rate them all? Preseason was fairly good with 2 wins and a loss. After 3 months topping the table is very good and I hope that you can stay there.
On your format; I was thinking of doing something similar as I take too long to type out a recap. You don't mind do you? It won't be exactly the same.Comment

Zaza is fantastic. He does a wonderful job in either forward position regardless of who his partner is, which is a great thing to have. I think it was Simppu who signed him for Hertha or Verona and didn't enjoy him too much, so I had some reservations initially. No such worries once he banged in three goals first time he wore a Parma shirt!
Sissoko was very good in the first few games, but he broke his ankle recently and won't play for another 2 months. He normally plays on the right of midfield, but with him out I have put Ben Yedder on the wing and Palladino/Cornet up top.
Ben Yedder is a dynamic little thing. His acceleration can be a bit crap sometimes, but I don't have much problem getting him out of tight spots thanks to his fantastic ball control and dribbling. He's such a versatile player as well: crossing, shooting, passing, dribbling, vision. Quite glad I shelled out what Toulouse wanted despite his putting in a transfer request.
Widmer is a good player, but his 56 balance rating kind of rules him out of playing further up the pitch. He's a good right back, and if only he would stop getting forward so much despite my instructing him to stay back when attacking, I might have a worldie on my hands in a few years.
Cornet has been a huge surprise. I signed him as a substitute/long-term backup to Ben Yedder, but he has the quality to do a job even now at 68 OVR. He's got pace, stamina, agility, strength and balance. In a few years once he improves his dribbling and finishing, he'll be a monster.
Don't think I will stay at the top. I tend to have bad runs in JAN/FEB and drop off towards the end of a season because I don't rotate too much (yet I criticise Jose for doing the same at Chelsea IRL), so I'm looking for a top-five finish. I'm also down to World Class to adjust to the new league and team, so when I bump back up to Legendary in January, we may have a few poor results.
Go ahead and use the format. My future updates will be like this anyway, plus a paragraph or two in first-person. But no worries, if you or anyone else wants to use it, go ahead.Comment
