Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Okay so I know I haven't been posting much recently but life has been busy lately with the wedding first, and then the NBA playoffs going on right now. My team made it to the semi-finals but they are knocked out now so I will have more time to play again.
I did want to spice it up a little bit and start another career to run side-by-side with Deportivo.
The club will be....
Spoiler
I need all of your help though with setting up some parameters for the career. I know Keano was recently doing a Portsmouth career that he moved on from so I hope it's okay with everyone.
So I want to go back to the 5 year plan idea. This time the ultimate goal being Premier League by the 5th year. Not a bad goal, allows me 2 non-promotion seasons to work with.
As for some rules for myself.
1. Portsmouth announced just this season that they paid off the last £7M of their administration debt. I want to incorporate this in that I have to earn a profit of £7M before I can spend more than I bring in. This includes competition earnings and scouting expenditures. So basically a debt count down. This will make it really tough to build a squad, but I like that honestly.
2. I want the squad to be 80% British at all times. Their squad is starting off at nearly 90% British so that shouldn't be tough, but academy players will also count against that so I have to be careful where I scout and who I buy.
3. Promote at least 1 academy player every year, and no more than 3 in a season. With my tight financial restraints, this shouldn't be a problem. I will admit, that I am thinking about using my first ever scout a future star for FIFA 15 for this career. Unless anyone has objections to this of course, don't be afraid to speak up if you do.
4. I am open to any and all suggestions to add to this. I really love having to watch myself in my Deportivo career and having to plan my team strategically in terms of cost as well as performance so I wanted to do that again. I will listen to anything you guys suggest and I will let you know what I incorporate. Please respond with suggestion!!! -
Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Because of my mistake to overwrite my Inter Milan save I will be starting a new career. It will not be with Inter or any other Italian team because it will just bring back memories and then I will remember how I screwed up and then I'd be mad all over again. I have a list of teams and I would like you guys to decide for me because I can never decide.
QPR - Finished bottom of the table in EPL and were relegated just after being promoted. I think I could guide them to safety in the top flight and then more given enough time at the club.
Hull City - Another team from the EPL. They fought until the last matchday of the year and I was disappointed to see Newcastle to stay up instead of the Tigers. Would be a fun challenge to hopefully lead them to glory.
Barnsley - Their first season back in Football League 1 since 06 when they were promoted via play offs and now they were relegated. The team I am least interested in of the 7 but would still be happy.
Blackpool - Finished last in 14-15 season and would like to see if I could avoid that if I took charge of the Championship side.
FC Metz - The french side finished second to last in Ligue 1 this year. With one of the worst budgets in the league it would be a difficult task to bring them trophies and would take time.
Puebla - The Mexican side is not going to be looking for titles right away I don’t think. I don’t know much, if anything about the Mexican league but I have a friend form Puebla so they caught my eye.
Penafiel - This portuguese side of the worst budget in the league with a measly $130,000. It would be a very difficult challenge to take them to Europe but I think it would be worth it.

Essentially, after all that rambling, I suggest home grown rather than British.Comment

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
For you British rule, will you only be scouting British players? The reason I bring this up is because if a player has been training at an English team for 3 years prior to their 21st birthday, they are classified as home-grown. I am going to be trying to incorporate it in my Liverpool restart coming soon, with actual squad rules. I can post a link to the rules for the Premier League if anyone would like it. Anyway, so you could sign a player from Italy at 16 and he would be classified as home grown. However, if you signed a player from Scotland he would not be home grown unless you signed him as a youth product.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Valencia CF
Transfers Out
Javi Fuego, €6,000,000 to Arsenal FC
Diego Alves, €30,000,000 to FC Barcelona
Transfers In
Carlos Bacca
81 Ovr, Striker, 28 Years Old, Colombia
Swap Deal With Paco Alcacer
Valencia CF were active in the transfer window and their cheapest signing arrived for free in a swap deal from Sevilla. Surprisingly Valencia traded one of the best future strikers for the 28-year-old Carlos Bacca. The Colombian attacker who joined from Sevilla CF is a very clinical striker who has also got pace, strength and tactical awareness on his side. Bacca, who is also known for the fact that he worked as a bus driver's assistant at the age of 20, will hopefully make a bigger impact for Valencia than Paco Alcacer. According to reports Valencia also tried to sign Jackson Martinez from Porto but he didn't want to resettle.
Sergio Rico
71 Ovr, Goalkeeper, 21 Years Old, Spain
€2,000,000
This has to be one of the most pointless signings Valencia have made in the last few seasons but the manager Simone Mendieta wasn't happy with loanee Yoel's performances as the second-choice keeper. Thus he decided to sign another second-choice keeper, Sergio Rico, the second player from Sevilla who was signed this transfer window by the Bats. The young Spaniard made his breakthrough in the 2014-15 campaign's second hal... wait, we are barely there yet in the career. Anyway, the Sevilla youth academy product has potential in him and he'll get some playing time at Valencia.
Vicente Iborra
78 Ovr, Defensive Midfielder, 27 Years Old, Spain
€11,000,000
The second most expensive signing Valencia completed was another Sevilla player, Vicente Iborra. The 6'3'' Spaniard is a straight replacement for Javi Fuego in the defensive midfielder role. Iborra will hopefully be more defensive and help the defenders out on many occasions. He can also play in more attacking roles, even as a secondary striker.
Miguel Moya
80 Ovr, Goalkeeper, 30 Years Old, Spain
€12,000,000
The most expensive player Valencia brought in during the January transfer window was the goalkeeper Miguel Angel Moya who joined from Atletico Madrid. This season (ingame) Moya has been benched and the young Jan Oblak has been Atleti's first-choice keeper. Now Moya will be the starter for Valencia where he'll replace Diego Alves.
January 2015
Round of 16, 1st Leg
Valencia CF 2 - 0 Athletic Bilbao
Parejo 42' pen, Gaya 82'
A solid win from the first leg of the Copa del Rey round of 16 against a good opposition. We were the better team on the pitch but Bilbao also played well. Dani Parejo's penalty a bit before the break was enough for the win and in the 82nd minute Gaya doubled our advantage going into the second leg with a near-post shot after a corner kick. Alvaro Negredo picked two yellow cards and he'll miss the second leg.
Round of 16, 2nd Leg
Athletic Bilbao (2) 2 - 3 (5) Valencia CF
Viguera 10', Gomez 50'
Alcacer 45', Feghouli 71', Perez 75'
The second leg was much closer and a lot more interesting than the first one. This time Bilbao gave us a challenge as they got into the lead only ten minutes into the game thanks to a rebound shot. We managed to equalise and to get an away goal right before the half time break with Paco Alcacer's header. Five minutes into the second half the Basques got into the lead again with Ibai Gomez's far-post header. Twenty minutes later Sofiane Feghouli equalised from a counter attack and soon after that Enzo Perez scored the third of the night after stealing the ball from kickoff. Our next opponent will be FC Barcelona.
Valencia CF 2 - 1 Almeria UD
Nolito 40', Alcacer 89'
Soriano 49'
Simulated.
Quarter Final, 1st Leg
FC Barcelona 1 - 3 Valencia CF
Iniesta 36'
Diego Alves OG 19', Feghouli 80', Negredo 86'
Coming into this game almost everyone expected an even game but Barcelona had an advantage. They had a much better side on paper and the game was played on the Camp Nou. Like predicted Barcelona controlled the first fifteen minutes until a penalty was called for a foul on Alvaro Negredo. Dani Parejo stepped to take the penalty and he shot it but Diego Alves saved it. The ball bounced off his arm into the crossbar and from there it hit the ex-Valencia keeper at the back to roll over the goalline. The lead lasted under twenty minutes as Andres Iniesta equalised when Miguel Moya parried a shot right into his foot. The game stayed even until the 51st minute when Martin Montoya got sent off for a challenge on Enzo Perez. We took control of the game from there and finally in the 80th minute Sofiane Feghouli got us into the lead from a counter attack. A couple minutes later Alvaro Negredo netted a third from a counter attack. We had a huge advantage going into the second leg but Barca is always Barca.
Valencia CF 3 - 1 Sevilla FC
Bacca 19', 82', Nolito 42'
Krychowiak 12'
Carlos Bacca made his debut for us in this game against his old team and it went amazingly. The match didn't start off that well, though, as Krychowiak got his team into the lead from a low cross. The lead lasted only seven minutes as Bacca himself equalised with a powerful first-time shot from Feghouli's pass. Twenty minutes later Nolito put us into the lead by cutting in and curling the ball past Neto in goal and forty minutes after that Bacca finished a brace from a counter attack. A great debut for the Colombian!
Quarter Final, 2nd Leg
Valencia CF (3) 0 - 1 (2) FC Barcelona
Pedro 83'
Unlike the first leg of this Copa del Rey tie this game was played almost entirely in our half. Barcelona dominated the game and they had 12 shots of which only five on target. We did a very good job defending our aggregate lead. The only goal of the game was scored by Pedro in the 83rd minute when the ball bounced off the crossbar and he got to the rebound the fastest. We went through on aggregate but sadly we lost our captain Dani Parejo for 3 months due to an injury. Because of this our Mexican central midfielder Andres Guardado was recalled from PSV. Oh, and our next opponent? A small team you might have heard of called Real Madrid.
La Liga Table
1. Real Madrid, 41 pts
2. Valencia CF, 41 pts (Game in hand)
3. Athletic Bilbao, 40 pts
4. FC Barcelona, 39 pts
5. Atletico Madrid, 34 pts
6. Villarreal CF, 33 pts
------------------------------------------------
18. Cordoba CF, 17 pts
19. SD Eibar, 12 pts
20. Granada CF, 10 pts
Starting XI
My Thoughts
Let's start with the transfers. Bacca was signed because I was very unhappy with Alcacer and I wanted to replace him. I would've signed Jackson Martinez (Porto also accepted a straight swap) but he wouldn't accept anything below €170,000 per week which was too much for me. Sergio Rico was bought because I didn't like Yoel at all and I wanted a permanent second-choice keeper. Iborra is Fuego's replacement and Moya came in to replace Diego Alves who joined Barcelona for two times what he was worth. They seem to buy everyone's keepers even though they have world class keepers on their own. I also made offers for Beto, Mandanda, Ruffier, Bravo, Casilla, Asenjo and Valdes but I decided to go for Moya because he isn't a popular player and I wanted to try something new. He was a bit cheaper, too.
Then to the games. I'm very happy about our proggression in the Copa del Rey! Beating Barcelona was amazing and Montoya's red card in the first leg is the reason why we proggressed. I don't like that we'll face Real Madrid next but we can beat them. Our league games against Almeria and Sevilla went well and Bacca did a great job in his debut. Iborra has also been good. I haven't had enough time to analyze the others.
Thank you for reading this post! I hope you have enjoyed it! Any feedback or suggestions will be appreciated!

I can't believe it, that's horrific! You were just starting the second season where you would've done great things like the 6-1 beating of Juve but it just wasn't meant to be. I feel bad for you. Anyway, I voted for Hull because I've been very interested in a career with them.-Simppu12-

SpoilerQPR - Finished bottom of the table in EPL and were relegated just after being promoted.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Valencia CF
Spoiler
Transfers Out
Javi FuegoSpoiler, €6,000,000 to Arsenal FC

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Wow, some wild moves. Moya is very solid so that is a quality move and a big profit on Alves. Seems like the side is well balanced and performing well to be joint top of the league, but why did you get rid of Alcacer? Guy has bags of potential and may have been struggling this season but could have been the future for you. Definitely something that will get the Valencia fans riled up!-Simppu12-

Portsmouth FC
FIFA 15 - Season 1
Pompey's March to the Top
Pompey Supporters Trust Announces New Manager
The supporters trust has found a new manager after deciding to part ways with Richie Barker. Much speculation over whether the club would keep on long time youth coach and caretaker manager Andy Awford, but ultimately the club decided to go in a different direction.
Gregg Berhalter has been announced as the new manager. The American made history in 2012 when he became the first American to manage a professional team in Europe, taking over Hammarby IF in Sweden at the time. After the 2013 season he moved on to the MLS and took over the Columbus Crew. He has made the club perennial contenders, and more importantly has improved the youth development for the club, turning out some of the biggest U-21 players in the U.S. system currently.
Having spent most of his playing career in Europe, including a one year stint at Crystal Palace, Berhalter shouldn't have too much trouble adjusting to the European game. He now takes over a club that was once a strong player in the top division of English football, and saw relegation down to the 4th division in only a matter of 4 years.
Club History
Football League First Division Champions: 1948-49, 1949-1950
Football League Championship: 2002-03
Football League One: 1923-24, 1961-62, 1982-83
FA Cup: 1939, 2008
FA Community Shield: 1949
Founded in 1898, Portsmouth saw success early in their existence. After WWI, the club began their climb towards the top division, ultimately succeeding in 1927. By 1938-39 the club had already reached their third F.A. Cup final, beating Wolverhampton to take home the cup in 1939. Due to suspension of the league football during WW2, Portsmouth hold the distinction of holding the FA Cup for the longest uniterrupted period, as the trophy wasn't again contested until the 1945-46 season. After league player resumed, Portsmouth went on to win back-to-back league titles in 1949 and 1950. A slow decline started that finally saw them relegated in 1959, and they would not return to the top division until 1986-87, but saw relegation after just one season. Harry Redknapp eventually took over as manager in 2002, and immediately won the league earning promotion back to the top division. This led a period of success that saw impressive finishes in the Premier League, and the club also took home it's second F.A. Cup in 2008. In 2009 a financial crisis hit, and the club was relegated 3 times in 4 seasons falling down the the 4th division after becoming a fixture in the Premier league for some time. The club was sold in 2012 to the Pompey Supporter's Trust after the previous owner's financial deficiencies had ruined the once successful club. Now in the fourth division, and owned by a trust of the fans, the new future of the club is ready to be written.
5 Year Plan
With the proud history of this club, it deserves much better than the 4th division. The goal now is to return back to the Premier League and cement ourselves there. It is going to be a tough road to get there, but we have drawn up a 5 year plan to help make that happen.
Year 1
- Maintain financial responsibility. Earn a profit in the season to help pay off club debts from Administration.
- Promote at least 1 player from the youth academy, and no more than 3. The future is important and it starts with our youth system.
- Convert roster to at least 30% homegrown. The roster at the time of taking over is at 27%. If we want to make it to the Premier League, we will have to eventually reach their homegrown requirements. We need to begin building for that now.
- Achieve Promotion to Football League One
Year 2
- Maintain financial responsibility. Earn a profit in the season to help pay off club debts from Administration.
- Promote at least 1 player from the youth academy, and no more than 3.
- Convert roster to at least 40% homegrown.
- Achieve Promotion to Football League Championship
Year 3
- Maintain financial responsibility. Earn a profit in the season to help pay off club debts from Administration.
- Promote at least 1 player from the youth academy, and no more than 3.
- Convert roster to at least 50% homegrown.
- If not accomplished last year, achieve promotion to Football League Championship.
Year 4
- Maintain financial responsibility. Earn a profit in the season to help pay off club debts from Administration.
- Promote at least 1 player from the youth academy, and no more than 3.
- Convert roster to at least 60% homegrown.
- Finish in top half of Football League Championship.
Year 5
- Complete paying off all £7,000,000 of the administration debt
- Promote at least 1 player from the youth academy, and no more than 3.
- Convert roster to at least 65% homegrown.
-Achieve promotion to the Premier League.
