Btw, this Italian rule is really testing me for Lazio. I have to have 4 Italians on the pitch at all times, and right now I only have 7 on my roster, and one just got injured.

Man I had a lot of reading to catch up on forum. FIFA 16 looks very underwhelming to me as of now. I liked what I see with CMs. I also liked those CM ideas as well my try for try and become legendary. That will quite challenging. Will give a Roma update tomorrow. Will give this hint we are second in league middle of November 2016.

            Los Rojiblancos

            Preseason - Season 1
            FIFA 15 (PS3)

            Budget
            €1.400.000
            €25.000

            Objectives
Reach the Round of 32 of the Copa Del Rey
            Fight for Promotion

            Transfer Window

            Transfers In

Vallejo making his U21 National Team debut

Jesús Vallejo (62 Ovr, CB, 17, Spain)
From Real Zaragoza for €500.000 + Hugo Fraile

The highly rated, young centre back joins the promotion pushing team of Sporting Gijón for a fee of around €500k. Left midfielder Hugo Fraile also goes the other way to Real Zaragoza. He signed a 4 year deal and will be used as a B Team player this season.

Alonso playing with one of his limited opportunities at Fiorentina

Marcos Alonso (65 Ovr, LB, 23, Spain
            From Fiorentina for €420.000

Fiorentina transfer listed fullback and so he was gotten for a cut price deal as the coaching staff deemed him to be surplus to requirements at the Serie A club. Keano saw an opportunity and needing another left back, he signed the Spanish player on a 3 year contract. He will most likely go straight into the first team.

Sandro scoring against Ajax in the 2015 Champions League

Sandro Ramirez Castillo ( Ovr, ST, 19, Spain)
From Barcelona B for Stefan Scepovic (71 Ovr, ST, 24, Serbia)

Scepovic was the 4th highest earner at the club and didn't fit Keano's policy of Spanish only players. Young Sandro has a much lower wage and can become one of the world's best strikers.

            Transfers Out

Dennis Díaz Fernández (58 Ovr, GK, 21, Spain)
To Sheffield United on Season Loan

The young goalkeeper has flown to England to join League 1 side Sheffield United on a season long loan deal. Keano says that the move is for some first team experience.

Carlos Castro (60 Ovr, ST, 19, Spain)
To CD Numancia on Season Loan

Another player sent out on loan for first team experience. The 19 year old striker joins another team in our league for the season.

Álvaro Bustos (60 Ovr, CM, 19, Spain)
To SD Ponferradina on Season Loan

Álvaro is the third player to leave on loan this season. Ponferradina and Gijón reached an agreement that he would get valuable first team minutes.

            Rachid Ait-Atmane (61 Ovr, CM, 21, Algeria)
            To Kilmarnock for €170.000

The Algerian packed his bags on deadline day to move to Scottish side Kilmarnock for a fee rumoured to be around €170k. The midfielder has only gone because of Keano's new policy and the club wishes him all the best.

Formose Mendy (62 Ovr, RM, 25, Guinea Bissau)
            To Aberdeen for €375.000

The second player to leave for another Scottish club on deadline day was African winger Formose Mendy. Mendy again didn't meet Keano's criteria as he wasn't Spanish, Mexican or Argentinian.

            Top 3 Transfers
Cavani (€67.000.000 PSG ---> Manchester City)
Falcao (€64.000.000 Monaco ---> Real Madrid)
Negredo (€23.500.000 Manchester City ---> PSG)

            Preseason

            Sporting Gijón 2-0 AC Ajaccio
            22' Scepovic (Pen)
            57' Álvarez

Man of the Match: Iván Cuéllar

Keano opened his managerial career of Gijón in front of a sold out El Molinón. His debut was a winning one thanks to goals from Scepovic and Álvarez. Things got off to a good start when Scepovic was brought down by Perozo inside the area. The Serbian stepped up and slotted the ball past a motionless Sissoko. Iván Cuéllar was extremely good in goal for us and ended the game with 6 saves and MOTM. Ajaccio were pushing hard for the equalizer but it was us who scored the final goal of the game. Sergio Álvarez dispossessed Zubar, the centre back, and then ran through to slot under Sissoko. Zubar, wanting to make amends, hit the crossbar with a header off a corner late on and then Oliech headed the rebound inches wide of the post. We were definitely exposed on corner kicks.

            Montreal Impact 3-1 Sporting Gijón
            23' Santi Jara
            50' Miller
            59' McInerney
            85' McInerney

Man of the Match: Jack McInerney

The second game in charge didn't go so well. The B Team played against a strong Montreal side and came out losers in the end. Santi Jara had put Gijón ahead with a header from 6 yards after Ait-Atmane's perfect delivery. Montreal ended the game with a 100% shot accuracy and made it count with 3 of their 4 shots hitting the back of the net. Miller equalized with 50 minutes gone after Felipe skipped around Mandi's challenge and played the right back through. 9 minutes later Mandi was beaten again, this time by McInerney for the first of his 2 goals. 5 minutes from time Bernier was allowed too much time on the edge of our box and he passed it across to McInerney for a first time shot past Alberto.

            Sporting Gijón 2-2 Jeonnam Dragons
            9' Song Chang Ho
            10' Carmona
            61' Scepovic
            72' Ristic (Pen)

            Simmed

Pablo Pérez suffered a pulled hip flexor so will miss 7 days of action.

            Lineups

            First XI

*Mandi is naturally a CB but has CDM as a secondary position. And with a lack of a quality defensive minded CDM, he gets the nod.

            B Team

Adama Touré (63 Ovr, CAM, 22, Mali) and Álex Serrano (61 Ovr, CF, 19, Spain) are the only two reserves.

            Cuéllar refuses contract extension
Veteran, 30 year old goalkeeper Iván Cuéllar who currently plies his trade with Liga Adelante side Sporting Gijón has reportedly turned down a 1 year contract extension onto his expiring deal. With only 10 months left to run Keano will be anxious not to lose him on a free in January. Fans will hope that he comes to his senses and signs a deal before the winter window opens. Otherwise, Gijón will have to start looking for a replacement.

            Opening Fixtures
            23/8 Barcelona B (h)
            30/8 Deportivo Alavés (a)

            Conclusion
I think a lot of the transfers were straight forward. All of them were Spanish to fit my policy. Maybe I could have gotten a better striker in exchange for Scepovic but Sandro has plenty of room to grow as he is only 19. Vallejo was brought in for an extra CB as we only had 4. He too, is young and has a lot of room to grow. He is going to be part of the B Team and may even become the captain. Alonso was bought because, 1. He was cheap, 2. He is young and 3. We only had one other LB because the other one is on at Deportivo. He slots into the first XI straight away. As for the departures, I managed to offload 2 of the 5 non-Spanish players which is good enough for now. Mendy and Ait-Atmane both got decent money and that left me with around €950k so I bought a 1*/1* scout for €30k and sent him to Spain for 9 months, just to get the Academy up and going. I could have gotten a 3*/3* scout but I wanted to save for January and some pre-contracts. Anyway, I also managed to get 3 young players out on loan for more game time than they would get here. I'm a bit annoyed that Cuéllar didn't sign a contract extension, especially because he only has 10 months left on his contract so if he doesn't sign before January he can leave for free. I hope it doesn't come to that.

            Thanks for Reading!

              So I haven't posted in a while.

My mum past away last week...

It was unexpected and this week has been the worst week of my life.

The funeral was yesterday and I got to say goodbye to her.

I have packed up all my stuff at my mums house and put them at my Dads house. I just unpacked my xbox.

Nothing but my mum has been my priority and I don't know when I'll start a new career mode. But fifa has been my outlet to life so I shouldn.t be away for a while

              thanks

That is horrific! I can't even imagine what you are going through right now and how you are feeling. Only with time it will stop hurting so much. I'm very sorry for your loss and I wish you all the best in the following few months. She will always be there with you in your memories and in your heart. Hopefully your recovery is fast.

Luckily there's wi-fi here. Your updates are making me miss my PS and Fifa, though. I should've taken them with me

                        Los Rojiblancos

                        August 2014 - Season 1
                        FIFA 15 (PS3)

                        Match 1
Sporting Gijón 1-3 FC Barcelona B
                        9' Halilovic
                        42' Halilovic
                        53' Rodri
                        82' Nacho Cases

Man of the Match: Alen Halilovic

Sandro and Scepovic both returned to their former clubs in the first match of the season. The latter however could only make the bench while the former was a starter. It was the Catalans who came out on top at the end of the 90 minutes. A brace and a MOTM performance from Halilovic was the difference between the two teams. The Croatian got his side in front just 9 minutes into the match. Alonso's pass out of defence was intercepted by Joan Román and he played it in towards Rodri. Hernández got out in front but his heavy touch gave it straight to Halilovic who smashed it home. 3 minutes before halftime Joan Román's cross deflected off Alonso into Halilovic's path and he spun around before shooting into the bottom corner. Gijón went into halftime without a single shot. Rodri then made it 3-0 when the defence was nonexistent before he was subbed off for Scepovic to make his debut. Late on Nacho Cases played a one-two with Álvarez to pull one back. The change to a 4-3-3 at halftime definitely helped more than the 4-2-3-1 as Barca's 4-3-3 constantly found spaces in our midfield.

                        Match 2
                        Deportivo Alavés 2-1 Sporting Gijón
                        9' Bernardo
                        56' Despotovic
                        84' Tejera

Man of the Match: Bernardo Espinosa

Heading into this game Gijón wanted to take all 3 points after losing to Barcelona B last time out. Unfortunately a goalkeeping error from Cuéllar cost them those 3 points and they left with nothing. Bernardo had gotten his side off to a great start heading in a Carmona corner just 9 minutes into the game. Up to halftime Gijón controlled the play and had chances to put themselves further ahead. Those missed chances came back to haunt them when Despotovic equalized with a tap in after Toti pulled it back. 6 minutes from the end Tejera won the game for Alavés. Juli's back heel caught Bernardo out and Tejera had a shot from a tight angle. Cuéllar unconvincingly palmed it straight back to the Alavés player and he put it away. Despite having 60% of the possession, Gijón didn't come away with the result they wanted.

From the two games played this month the winger performed the best. He notched up 1 assist and was a threat in both games.

                        Conclusion
Well that was definitely not the best of starts. The Barcelona loss I can live with, especially because of the talent they have in their squad. Halilovic was amazing and also because their 4-3-3 false 9 found a lot of spaces in our 4-2-3-1 in the first half. The change to a 4-3-3 Holding helped to stop them a bit and we even created some chances. The Alavés game was a frustrating one to lose. Their equalizer came from a tap in that my defender couldn't stop because he went in the wrong direction when I switched to him. The winner was also annoying as Cuéllar just palmed it back out to the attacker. All he had to do was catch it.

                        Thanks for Reading!

But fifa has been my outlet to life so I shouldn.t be away for a while

                          thanks

May she rest in peace. My condolences to you and your family, I can't even imagine what you all must be going through right now. I hope you're able to find something to carry you through it like FIFA or anything else. Take all the time you need and remember that we'll be here waiting.

                              January 2015

                              Portsmouth FC 2 - 0 Hartlepool United
                              POR - Barcham 60', Fogden 75'
                              MOTM: Fogden

Fogden beat his man down the right wing and attacked into the box to fire a shot that hit off of the keeper and rolled into the net. Fogden dribbled across the top of the box and avoided a sliding challenge before unleashing a powerful right footed shot into the top right corner.

                              Exeter City 1 - 1 Portsmouth FC
                              EXE - Nicholla 12'
                              POR - Dunne 7'
                              MOTM: Dunne

Dunne intercepted a pass in the attacking third and dribbled to the edge of the box and launched a left footed shot perfectly into the top left corner. Cropper gave the ball away on a goal kick straight to Morrison and he sent the ball over to Nicholls for the easy shot into the right side of the goal.

                              Leyton Orient 1 - 4 Portsmouth FC
                              LEY - Rivoredo 20' (PEN)
                              POR - Barcham 49', 61', Dunne 51' Atangana 55'
                              MOTM: Cropper

After Robinson conceded a penalty, Rivoredo stepped up to the spot and chipped a ball down the middle as the keeper went right and put Leyton Orient ahead early. Barcham dribbled in from the left wing and avoided a challenge before placing the ball into the top left corner. Dunne had the ball knocked directly to him on the right side of the box and he fired a laser into the top left corner on the far post. Fogden put Atangana through on goal and he used his left foot to fire it inside the far post. Barcham beat the defense on a counter and dribbled into the box and uses his right foot to shoot off the left post and in.

                              Portsmouth FC 3 - 0 Morecambe FC
                              POR - Fogden 7', Dunne 85', 90'
                              MOTM: Dunne

Olufemi sent a cross in from the right wing and found Fogden for a header that hit off the crossbar and crossed the line before bouncing back out. Barcham broke free down the left and had his shot saved right to Tubbs who's shot was also saved, but this time Dunne was there and finished it. Tubbs found Dunne right on the edge of the box and he took a couple of touches into the box and fired it inside the near post.

                              Cambridge United 1 - 0 Portsmouth FC
                              CAM - Dunk 78'
                              MOTM: Dunn

Butler went for a poorly timed tackled and missed leaving Dunk to go through on the right side and beat the keeper on the near post with Cmabridge's only shot of the entire match, and ended up as the deciding goal.

                              Portsmouth FC 0 - 0 Stevenage FC
                              MOTM: Piedra

Portsmouth controlled the match, more than tripling the opponents shots and winning the possession battle. In the end they just couldn't get past Piedra in goal for Stevenage and he earned a point for his club at the end of the day.

                              Portsmouth FC 1 - 1 Nottingham Forest
                              POR - Barcham 9'
                              NOT - Assombalonga 88'
                              MOTM: Barcham

Barcham got the ball on the left wing and split two defenders to go into the box and fire across the goal into the back of the net for the early lead. With little time left Burke sent a ball over the top from midfield and Assombalonga ran on to the ball and blasted it past the keeper and into the net for an unbelievable equalizer.

Transfers - We are excited to announce a couple of transfers completed this month. First, Geroge Francomb will be joining us next season after he finishes out his contract with Wimbledon. He is a talented player that can play multiple positions and he will fit in nicely here. The other player coming in is an old academy product of the club. Marlon Pack is joining from Bristol City and he has already begun to contribute in the midfield that has been thin all season with injuries. We are excited to have him back at the club and look forward to some quality performances from him.

League Play - After several dominating months we began to look out of sorts. We ended up with two draws and a loss this month in league play as the focus has shifted to the F.A. Cup. We need to regain our concentration and treat every match with equal importance.

F.A. Cup - After taking care of Leyton Orient with a dominating performance, we drew Nottingham Forest in the next round. It looked like we were going to take home the victory, but a missed assignment on defense late in the game created the equalizer and now we will have to move on to a replay. As of right now our focus is on winning the reverse fixture, but having to go into their stadium will certainly make it harder. It is our next match on our fixture list though, and we want to make sure we bring a rested and ready to play team.
