Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
sure looks like Central Coast Mariners and Newport County will be the teams for the CM's. Both look like tough challenges and Newport will probably start me out of my comfort zone (4-4-2 diamond) although the other side of that is that I will be able to utilize a favorite player of mine from my Dagenham CM in '14.vrabbit

CENTRAL COAST MARINERS F.C.
Mariners announce new head coach
The Central Coast Mariners made waves today by announcing their new head coach for the 2015-2016 season following a disastrous 2014-2015. The new sheriff in town comes as a shock in the form of 30-year old Diego Del Barco, hailing from the United States although originally born in Venezuela.
Del Barco signifies a jaw-dropping change for a club that suffered a massive downfall last season. The American-Venezuelan has never coached a professional soccer club before, with his resume mostly boasting local work in the United States with youth academies. Nonetheless sources indicate Del Barco had an impressive interview with Mike Charlesworth and Peter Storrie, who soon after said interview quickly agreed on offering the club's head coaching position to the now rookie head coach.
"We are proud to announce today Mr. Diego Del Barco as the new head coach of the Central Coast Mariners," an enthusiastic Storrie announced sitting next to Charlesworth and the new head coach. "Our visions of what the club must do going forward in order to return to the top of the A-league are synchronized and we look forward to aiding and assisting coach Del Barco during this challenge. We understand the perceived risks of designating someone with very minimal experience as the leader of this club but we are confident that we will look back to today as the beginning of our return to the top of the A-League."
If Del Barco is nervous about the task at hand he sure didn't show it at the press conference. "It is an honor to be trusted with the opportunity to lead this team to bigger and better finishes going forward," the new head coach said. "I am very thankful for the opportunity given to me by the club and I'm very eager to get started on this journey. It wasn't too long ago that this club earned champions and premier titles and our goal is to get back challenging for and winning those titles. I am not saying it will be an easy road to get back to that kind of form but I do believe those are goals that can and will be accomplished and I look forward to working as hard as possible along with all players and coaches to achieve that kind of success."
Del Barco had no comments about roster moves or strategy deferring such talk until after getting to meet his complete roster and working with them. As expected any time a new head coach is hired, we will be on the lookout for any moves in the transfer market as well as any possible position changes. The Mariners own arguably the worst roster in the A-league so their new head coach will have to get creative in order to achieve success. Transfer/wage budgets are expected to be low.vrabbit

FC Ural Sverdlovsk Oblast
The Ural Men
FC Ural Sverdlovsk Oblast, a Russian football club founded in 1930 in the city of Yekaterinburg, will be looking to take the next step under the guidance of newly appointed manager Vadim Skripchenko. Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, FC Ural participated in the newly formed Russian Premier League from 1992-1996 before being relegated to the Russian Football National League (second division). A further relegation to the third tier of Russian football would soon follow, but after jumping back to the second level, Ural eventually won the FNL in 2012-13 to secure promotion into the RFPL for the 2013-14 season. Finishes of 11th and 13th have followed, which resulted in survival, but now the club wants to climb toward the middle of the table and ultimately get into Europe. Skripchenko doesn't have a lot of finances at his disposal, so player development and smart purchases will be crucial to reaching the club's ambitions.

April was a horrendous month with 10 games in four weeks and fatigue certainly affected some of our performances. Going into the final two Bundesliga match days, we were in fifth place, three points behind Borussia Mönchengladbach in fourth who were the last team in a Champions League spot. We had a better goal difference, though. Surprisingly, Schalke were leading with Borussia Dortmund two points behind them. Bayern München were having a catastrophic season with them in ninth place. Sevilla faced Manchester City in the Europa League final and Bayern München were our opponents in the DFB Pokal final.
May 2017
Werder Bremen 0 - 3 Hertha BSC
Kalou 37', 58', 65'
Fortunately for us, Borussia Mönchengladbach drew their away game with FC Augsburg. In our last league game of the season, we would host Suttgart and Mönchengladbach would host Bayern München in their game. It was a must-win game for us but even that wouldn't have been enough; Mönchengladbach simply could not win if we wanted to qualify for the Champions League.
4. Borussia Mönchengladbach, 61 pts (CL)
--------------------------------------------------
5. Hertha BSC, 60 pts (EL)
Hertha BSC - VfB Stuttgart
This was probably the most intense and definitely the most important game of our season. We fielded our best players to take on the 14th-placed Stuttgart. We scored first with Genki Haraguchi cutting in from the left flank and unleashing a powerful shot that bounced over the line off the crossbar. Everything was going well for three minutes until Stuttgart youth academy graduate Mario Pasalic equalised with a shot from the edge of the box. We went on the attack again, playing aggressively and giving everything in front of our amazing home fans, but the first half ended scoreless.
Halftime Scores:
Hertha BSC 1 - 1 VfB Stuttgart
Borussia Mönchengladbach 0 - 0 Bayern München
The second half continued from where the first one left off: we were still attacking and creating chances, looking for the winning goal. We had a couple of poor shots in the first ten minutes but they didn't result in anything. Suddenly, at the hour mark, our left back Marvin Plattenhardt ran through the middle of the pitch and unleashed an accurate through pass straight to Salomon Kalou who took two touches, aimed at the top right corner and swang his leg. The ball hit the keeper's arm, changed direction and went into the back of the net! We had taken the lead again and we were qualifying for the Champions League! The game was ours... and five minutes after that Daniel Didavi equalised the game with 67 minutes on the timer. That's when we started attacking even more and throwing men forwards. In the 76th minute Vedad Ibisevic took a shot from outside the box and it hit the post! Just four minutes later Marvin Plattenhardt got into the box, passed the ball to Salomon Kalou... and Plattenhardt got taken down! Consequently, a penalty was rewarded and our Ivorian star striker Salomon Kalou slotted it into the top left corner to put us back into the lead! We then parked the bus, timewasted and won the game! We had done everything that we could've done and what was required from us to do in order to qualify for the Champions League. Our fate wasn't in our own hands, though...
Fulltime Scores:
SpoilerHertha BSC 3 - 2 VfB Stuttgart
Borussia Mönchengladbach 1 - 1 FC Bayern München
We have qualified for the Champions League!
Final
Hertha BSC - FC Bayern München
The DFB Pokal final was here and the final was played at the mighty Olympiastadion, on our own home ground! Even though Bayern had had a terrible season, they were going to be a very tough opponent. Additionally, the DFB Pokal was their only chance to qualify for the Europa League. Everything was sent for a great night of football.
But the game was very anti-climactic and quite disappointing. The first half consisted mainly of passing the ball around and looking for space with a couple of shots in there. The second half wasn't much better and after the fulltime whistle there was a total of five shots on target in the game. Extra time started and we f*cked up two one-on-one tap in chances. The second one was deadly as Bayern started a counter attack and Patrick Weichrauch scored from it. We did everything we could to equalise but Valentin Stocker's slowly rolling shot was everything we were able to create. The referee blew his whistle and we had lost the DFB Pokal final.
Bundesliga Table
1. FC Schalke 04, 66 pts
2. Borussia Dortmund, 65 pts

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?
Really looking forward to the CCM career mode. Being from Australia and as a massive follower of the A-League its going to be fun to read about. We are a League that have a salary cap and a restriction on international players, are you going to implement those rules or just make it like everywhere else in the world. Finally CCM are by far the worst team so far this season however, they have had a great history in the A-League, with them producing some of Australia's finest players like Matt Ryan, Miles Jedinak, Trent Sainsbury, Mustafa Amini, Tom Rogic and more, so using scouting to find new Australian talent could be a realistic option. Finally. Berisha (Melbourne Victory striker) is a scum and don't destroy the Perth Glory when you play them. Enjoy
I studied up on A-League history as well as CCM's but didn't know about the restrictions on cap and international players. I'll look them up and adhere to them but with the limitations CMM already has I'm unlikely to break any rules anyways. Just so you know though this is a globetrotter CM so mu stay in the A-League will probably not be long. If I'm successful here and better opportunities come across I'll likely end up in a different league. I also didn't know about CCM's history developing Aussie stars. I always build teams through the academy and I'll definitely stick to Australia/Asia when scouting for youth and senior players. I'll read up on Berisha and I don't anticipate destroying anyone, at least not the 1st year.
Thanks again!Last edited by vrabbit; 12-31-2015, 05:18 PM.vrabbit

Talk about drama, I'm in my 1st season in a personal Bristol Rovers RTG CM and I made it to the League Cup Quarterfinals to face Man United, What a crazy game! I win the game on Penalties 5-4 after going through 90 minutes 2-2 then another 30 after that at 2-2.

FC Ural Player of the Month
CM Gerson Acevedo, 69 Ovr, 27 years old, Chile
It was a great month for Chilean midfielder Gerson Acevedo as he registered 1 goal and 2 assists in 3 matches, while taking home three consecutive Man of the Match honors. Acevedo's leadership in the midfield was a big part of FC Ural not being defeated in August, and for that, he has been named the club's Player of the Month.

Manager's Thoughts
Overall, I'm happy with taking 5 out of a possible 9 points. The road game at Kuban was tough as they are much better than their current 14th place standing reflects. Getting the draw against CSKA was a very nice result, and we really could have taken all 3 points, but a horrible own goal left us settling for 1 point. We finally tasted victory against Mordovia and one of our new signings, Alhaji Kamara, found the back of the net, so that shows we have done well in the transfer window despite very limited funds for fees and wages. As far as the board's demand for a mid-table finish, we are actually a little ahead of that projection, but we can't get complacent as we really need to work hard every match to stay there.
September 2015 - Schedule
9/13 - vs Anzhi
9/19 - at Dinamo
9/23 - at Amkar*
9/26 - vs Lokomotiv
*Russian Cup - Round of 16
September will really show what we're made of as we have two really tough matches against Moscow-based sides Dinamo and Lokomotiv. Both of those clubs have plenty of talent, but after getting a result against CSKA, we shouldn't be intimidated. Anzhi Makhachkala is a newly promoted side, but they are much better than your typical newcomer as there are still some remnants of the financial takeover the club experienced a few years ago. The most favorable match up comes against Amkar Perm in the Russian Cup, and we will certainly put great effort into this contest as the board expects us to reach the quarterfinals, which could be obtained with a win.
