Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Just thought I'd pop in and show you guys the team that I built in a Bristol Rovers RTG CM.

Funny things have happened in this CM including Winning the League Cup 5 years in a row(Started in League 1 to now) i also made it to the Semi-Finals while in league 2.

      My normal Starting XI

      My 2nd team.

That 85 guy is just there as a placeholder because the guy that normally is there is injured.

Solid teams Sportsfreak! Who is the middle CB in the main side? 90 Verratti! 85 Ovr and only a stand in.... Shows the quality you have.

The middle CB is a YA player I bought for 40 million Pounds from Granada CF.
Lucas Vada I think is his name, Argentinian 6'2 also the 85 OVR is actually a LM that came up from my youth Academy that I have no clue where to fit him(He can only play LM.....) The funny thing about Veratti was that I got him at 85 OVR On a Pre-Contract!

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

SMH - I dig that you're doing a CM with a team/league not many people get into, do you happen to be Russian? You had a dominant December with both Erokhin and Sapeta scoring good for you (your CM also allows me to scout some players that normally wouldn't be on my radar). You are right there to claim a CL spot and you still have a good shot to win the league though I'm sure Zenit is not going to make it easy. I look forward to seeing what moves you can make in the January transfer window.
--> Then realized you're also doing a Mallorca CM. Nice. You're destroying Liga Adelante, not sure what else I can say about that one except try to get some funds for the January window and see if you can put most of your funds towards guys on pre-contract. They're a better investment for your money and it sure looks like you won't need any extra help this season.

Keano - Cardiff first, nice choice. HUGE Iheanacho coup, he'll undoubtedly be a stud for you in this CM. One of the players you loaned out, O'Sullivan, has actually been a nice piece for me at Newport and has decent potential so he could develop as a nice backup for you hopefully, someone you can then sell for a nice profit. Nice job winning the pre-season tourney, every game was a grind, and good luck as you start the season!
(P.S.: it's unclear to me if you're going to continue the Kaiserslautern CM? Nice job with Austria in the Euro though)

Simp: I don't think I had realized you were already 2 seasons into Hertha. Tough Haraguchi sale but I understand it at the price. Digging the Johannson signing as well as Geis'. Very good August for you including a very important clincher of the CL group stage, though that looks to be a challenging group. Good luck this season!

Tex: You're bullying folks in League 1 so it was kind of refreshing to finally see you lose 1 against Shrewsbury :P but you're still locked into that 2nd place in the league and there is still a lot of season to be played. Who do you get next in the JPT? Digging Townsend in your academy, I don't know if it's changed with '16 but it's usually hard for me to find good ST/CF in the academy.

Indi: stop being a tease and come through already :P

Jagger: that Notts County CM coming any time soon?

sportsfreak: hopefully I didn't miss your most recent update, the last I saw you started your Betis CM and it looks like you got off to a nice start there. Also hopefully we can link up for a game online soon, I'm ready for it now after getting used to the game (I think).

Thanks! I was really surprised that City let him go for that cheap considering he has massive potential. Preseason was a grind alright, I just (about the end of August) switched back to default legendary to try and get more goals. It's been frustrating to say the least.

I honestly don't know about Kaiserslautern. I think that I'm going to put it to one side for a while/for good and put all my time into making Cardiff a long term career.

I was pumped when I saw that I got a good CF into the academy. I agree, it's really tough to find those guys so I'm excited to build a future around him hopefully.

I'm really interested to see how I do against higher competition since even though I've been winning a lot, I have been saved by a lot of penalty calls going my way. I want to build this career slowly so I actually kind of like when I lose a match. The problem is though that they set my objective at win the league so I can't really struggle too much this year or I will be sent packing. Hoping to move up and then spend at least a couple of seasons in the Championship.

Yup, the third season is going on at the moment. The Haraguchi sale was an unbelievable one because they paid double his price and Johansson has been great for me. The CL group really does look bad.

@Rabbit - I was also very surprised that you took the Dorados job since you had spent only a few months down under. Judging by the squad and by basically your entire starting eleven consisting of loanees, you will have a tough time Mexico. I believe in you, though. Good luck!

@Sportsfreak - Damn, that Bristol Rovers starting eleven is so strong! Tielemans, Verratti, the striking duo, the defenders, damn. That is one amazing squad! Things are going well with Betis, too, with wins against the likes of Sociedad and Espanyol. It is also very good that you are in the higher part of the table!

@SMH - December was a great month for you three solid wins and with two of them coming against good Moscow sides. That Lokomotiv demolishion is an amazing result! You are just a couple of points behind Dinamo and I can see the game against them being a very important one. Interesting to see if you will manage to make any big signings with the amount of money you have.

Mallorca: Can we just skip to the end of the season? Haha damn, you are destroying the league! Like you said you have conceded like a goal in 14 games which is unbelievable! I'm looking forward to see how you manage against the big boys of La Liga next season.

@Keano - I loved the introduction post with the job offers going in and out! What made it memorable for me was that you included all teams that we are doing careers with. Well done choosing Cardiff instead of Hertha since you would've been sacked almost straight away. Only the best is good enough for Hertha :P
The signings you made look very good and I think that Amartey and Iheanacho will become huge for you in the future! Blanco has a solid potential, too. Also, the format looks great!

Kaiserslautern: Extremely good start to the season (apart from beating Hertha) and you did a great job in the Euros with Austria! The signings look good depth additions. Shame about you dropping the career, though.

@Tex - November was one tough month for you. Nicely done to progress in the J. Paint Trophy but at the end of the month scoring goals seemed to be a big problem, at least when the referee wasn't granting penalties. Either way you are still in a very good spot in the league with a reasonable gap to third place. Cameron and Townsend are looking very good in the academy!

@Indi - I agree with Rabbit, stop teasing and start posting updates Great read like always, though.

@Jagger - Good to hear that you are focusing on studying and socialising! That comes always before FIFA.

I think that should cover everyone. If I happened to miss you I'm extremely sorry!

@Chico - Where did you disappear?

I've had to halt my Bristol Rovers CM due to a glitch where I had someone marked as NOT FOR SALE and on Deadline day he gets sold without me even getting a notification for an offer.

Also expect another Betis update today!

                            MotM: Matthew Kennedy (CAR)

"The lads that maybe won't get out on the pitch every week proved that they are capable of pushing for a regular spot on the team sheet. None more so than young Matthew (Kennedy). He showed great persistence to win the ball back inside the Bury area and a cool head to put it away."

                            MotM: Peter Whittingham (CAR)

"When you get a lead in a league like this you have to keep it, which we unfortunately didn't do. Peter (Whittingham) kept a cool head not just once but twice from the spot. Something that's not at all easy to do. We conceded two soft goals to be quite honest. Leaving a talent like Byram dribble right in on goal and there's only going to be one outcome. The second was just abysmal, you can't defend set pieces as poorly as we did otherwise you're going to get punished. We'll have to kick on against Derby."

                            MotM: Scott Carson (DER)

"Carson played a blinder in goal for Derby tonight. We created enough chances, as did Derby, but neither of us were able to get that crucial goal. We just need to be a bit more composed in the final third."

                            MotM: David Marshall (CAR)

"A very big win to get our first three points of the season. Anthony (Pilkington) played a beauty of a ball through to Kenwyne (Jones) and he did what he does best, stick it in the net. David (Marshall) proved what an important player he is for us with another solid clean sheet."

                            MotM: Dean Gerken (IPS)

"Another good win to get under our belts. Ipswich are no push overs and it was a tough test all game. Kelechi (Iheanacho) did extremely well to win the spot kick and Peter (Whittingham) made no mistake. Stoke will give us a different type of test if we are to progress any further."

                            Cardiff City 1-3 Ipswich
                            20' OG Gerken
                            7' Chambers, 22' Fraser, 71' Bishop

                            MotM: Luke Chambers (IPS)

"A complete contrast to the game five days ago. Again we conceded poorly from a set piece and then got a big piece of luck when Gerken knocked it into his own net from Kenwyne's (Jones) effort. The lad Fraser then has a hit an absolute peach of a free kick to put us behind. When there's a bit of quality like that, there's nothing you can do about it. We probably pushed too hard for an equalizer which allowed them a counter attack to kill us off. A disappointing way to end the month."

Tough fixtures ahead with Middlesbrough and Stoke in the COC undoubtedly the biggest tests. Forest and Blackburn will be no pushovers while we should take 6 points from MK Dons and Huddersfield at home. We will need to start picking up our form if we want to get promoted this season.

                            Thanks for Reading people!

I'm glad you liked the intro man. I think you're right about me not being a good fit for Hertha after the start I've had... Amartey has been a beast in midfield and his incredible stamina means he never has to miss a game. Ince has impressed me alongside him in midfield while Iheanacho has bags of pace and has already grown quite well. Definitely one for the future and soon now. Blanco is a solid backup and will eventually be good enough to take over from Marshall, who has been incredible so far btw. Appreciate the love on the format!

Yeah I just always felt that a long term career for me has to be in England and plus I felt ready to settle into a career completely. The Euros were a lot of fun though!

damnit. I have a Newport update ready to go but I can't help but feel I'm missing a FA Cup matchup somewhere so I can't post till I get home and confirm
