Thanks for the opinions on what I should do next in my CM! I'll be doing at least one other season with Exeter and my aim will be to do a double treble (cheers for pointing that out Cruzerr

) and if I manage that, it looks like i'll probably be moving to another English club although the strawpoll is tied when it comes to whether or not I should move to a foreign club or an English one. If anyone wants me to join any specific team then just say so too.

I'll be updating my Exeter CM soon with a transfer special although this one will only include official deals and not much gossip.

This game had A LOT of controversy. First there was Türüç's injury which came on a play where both him and an opposing player went up for the ball and we thought a foul should had been called on Akhisarspor. At the time we didn't know the extent of Türüç's injury so we subbed him out at halftime to play it safe and luckily he'll be back in no time. Then there was Sow's goal, in which he may have been offsides. But the brunt of the drama came in the 55th minute when a penalty kick was called against us on this play:

Uh, what are we being penalized for?

But ball don't lie, and Hugo Rodallega proceeded to strike the PK far high above the cross bar to keep the game tied at one.

Very frustrating end to a game we fought hard in to earn the W but a miscue bit us at the end. On a free kick just past midfield Mijailović played a short pass to Sow who quickly loss the ball to Visca who ran it all the way back on a counter-attack to score the equalizer. Hard way to lose two points.

A Gelmin Rivas shot near the end of the first half deflected off of Ali Turan for an own goal that would even up the score going into the break and Rivas would strike on his own early in the second half to give us the lead for good against a club that came into this game in 4th place in the standings.

We kicked off the second half by quickly losing the ball and Kasimpaşa quickly pounced on our mistake taking the ball back all the way back for what would prove to be the game-winning score. This is the second time this season wherein we end up losing points on a dumb mistake like this one and those are very frustrating moments that are simply unacceptable. UGH.

Review: what sticks out to me the most is losing 3 points due to inexcusable mental errors in the Kasimpasa and Başakşehir games, which is the difference between being in 2nd place or 4th where we are now. On the other hand, a top 5 finish is all I really want for this season and early on I'm in good position for that. The offense has also slowed down quite a bit after a hot start to the season, going from scoring three goals/game to just half of that in these last two months with the game against Mersin being more of an exception. So I'm still trying to get used to the 4-2-3-1.

Our scouts in Turkey and Croatia have also returned with a couple of reports and we've added some youngsters to the academy:

- Volkan Çetin (RB, 54 OVR, 75-91 POT: 17-year old from Turkey with average speed that we hope he'll develop further. In the meantime we've put him to work in improving his defensive skills. Good aggression (78) and strength (72) for someone at 5'9" and 154lbs.
- Dragen Rennich (LW, 52 OVR, 68-88): 16-year old from Croatia good accelaration (78) and balance (75). We expect a little from his current fram of 5'1" and 139lbs.
- Burak Karabulut (RB, 51 OVR, 63-81): 16-year old from Turkey who is physically strong (strength 72, aggression 71). After he fully grows he may be better suited to play at CB.

This was a must-win game for us and maybe the pressure turned this winnable game into a tougher match-up that we may not have won if it wasn't for another late goal from Jhon Murillo, who repeated the heroics of his late goal against Colombia a couple of matches ago. We threw the kitchen sink at Bolivia, being on target with 9 of our 11 shots although they created a good number of chances too (6/6).

We succeeded in clinching a berth before having to close out the qualifiers against Argentina and Brazil by dominating the Paraguayans who just didn't have a good run in these qualifiers. We once again fired 11 shots, 10 on target, while the visitors only had 1 shot on target on 4 total shots.

The score is not at all indicative of how this game played out. We dominated Argentina in the first half (59% possession, 8 shots, 7 on target) but had nothing to show for on the scoreboard as Gerónimo Rulli played an insane game saving EVERYTHING. I mean everything. Look at him save a free kick from Otero at the line at the end of the first half.

David Luiz received an automatic ejection after committing a foul in the box as the last man on defense and we went into half time with a small lead we thought we might be able to protect in the second half. But Brazil with 10 players is a lot better than a lot of teams with 11 and eventually they earned a PK of their own to even up the score, only to be shocked a couple of minutes later on a breakaway by Del Valle on a nice feed from Garcia for the game-winner. With this win we held off both Brazil and Chile to hang on to a 3rd place finish in the qualifiers.

We kicked off the month with our first J. Paint Trophy game of the season. Two early goals in either half from strikers Morgan and Kee secured our passage in the next round. Back up keeper Etheridge had a moment to forget, passing the ball straight out to Thomas from a kick out allowing the Mansfield man to score.

A comfortable 3-0 home win was gotten thanks to goals from Morgan, Phillips and McCartan. The last a beautiful ball over the top from Kelly-Evans to set McCartan through in the final minutes.

It was a battle between the top two teams in which each side left Plymouth with a point. Windass put us ahead with a well taken goal before Cox rose highest to head home a corner on 66 minutes.

Morgan continued his fine scoring run with a rebounded goal after 25 minutes. It was shambolic defending from Bristol, a defender smashing the ball off his own keeper before the two of them became tangled. Morgan capitalized and tucked the ball away.

We dominated the game but Northampton goalkeeper Clarke was in top form making 10 saves to split the points between the teams.

To make up for the scoreless previous match we came out all guns blazing and were rewarded with four goals. Windass scored a beauty from the edge of the D in off the post just after half time to break the deadlock. Morgan added his third league goal 20 minutes later before two late goals from McCartan, also his third league goal, and Gornell, a well struck header, completed the rout.

I told you I'm a man of my word, so here goes...

Vrabbit - Globetrotter: Solid play with the squad you have, which is very solid in terms of overalls, but obviously you have to contend with the big boys of the likes Gala, Fener, and Besiktas so you're hanging around so far. Very lucky to see Turuc escape a significant injury as he is your key man by a long shot. Cetin looks to be the jewel of yoru academy so hopefully he can go quickly to get into the XI.

Newport: On the back of promotion last season (if I remember corectly), you look on the brink of double dipping on a second promotion with the form so far, and definitely getting so space between the rest of league 1 and yourself. Thuram seems to be a classy player, what's he looking like age and progression wise?

Cruzerr - I HATE EVERTON. Sorry that's the West Ham of this season coming out in me, haha. Love seeing former Hammer Stewie Downing leading Boro to the win over you

But definitely an up and down start for you, but honestly, if you can get Ravel to get his head sorted, he will be the star of your team I can promise you that, so I really love that signing. Hoping to see him get into the team on a regular basis, I would go to a diamond honestly to get him and Barkley in the same team.

10cabee - Congrats on the treble first of all! And I think one more season at Exeter has to be the decision, because you can have a victory lap and see if you can replicate your success, plus you can continue working with growing and bringing some youth into the club!

Yanks - What a start to your campaign so far, up in that top 4 is very impressive, and being out of Europa will probably make it easier to sustain that by playing your first XI all the time.

Simppu - Iraola is a good depth signing plus you bring back a club legend, and Martinez will do a job for you in centerback no doubt. Hopefully you can hold onto Laporte because he definitely destined for great things and is a rock, but overall the squad is really solid even with your Basque constraints. What is your youth scouting policy? Is it just scout Spanish and French players assume they have Basque heritage?

Keano - I can see your just really getting started but I am looking forward to the Accrington Stanley career!

Laporte is actually one of the only players of the team who I am not willing to sell for any price, at least at the moment. He really is rock-solid at the back and I really enjoy having him in the squad. Replacing him would be very tough, too, since there really aren't that many Basque defenders out there.

My youth scouting policy is as you said: I only scout French and Spanish players and then act like they are Basque. I also have that one Argentinian in the academy as I scouted a future star but I just pretend that he has Basque roots.

Technically Higuian can play for you because of his Basque grandparents. So you can use that for the youth player.

I gotta say, you are one of the guys, who always puts much depth into your YA posts, who is the greatest player for you to come out of there?

Also, congrats on getting Venezuela to the WC!

@Keano - Aaaaand to the top you go! (rabbits team has gone missing :P). How do you play with the team, as in formation wise? Seems like you are getting goals in most games with ease.

Wow, I will make sure that I beat West Ham now, haha. I don't see Ravel and Barkley playing together just yet, I don't really like playing Diamond that much, though I haven't given it too much of a chance. I like the wingers in the team, so I can't crop them out. Still, there are games where Ravel starts on the wide flanks and Barkley in the middle, so he gets plenty of chances.

As for you Moose - I say that whether we suggest something, it is just an idea! The best way for you to find anything out is to actually try! Give it a shot, you might like it.

Yep, hopefully it's the back-to-back treble winning team! Good question and to be completely honest, it was just gut instinct and some tinkering. My recent aquisitions for a number 9 like Morata and Mitrovic did not live up to my expectations and once I got Vacca, he became quite a consistent starter and performed well despite not setting the world alight. I simply know what im getting with Vacca at the moment but after a couple of months I could definitely see Zivkovic becoming our first choice.

I dig the love for the YA, especially at Newport is a big part of what I'm doing there so I like to do some descriptions even if it's just for me to look at. As far as GOAT you probably have to go back to my Alcorcon CM in FIFA 14, some really good players came out of the academy then. Actually my scouting in Japan over at Newport is a direct result of finding a gem by the name of Zeshin Yamura in '14, a midfielder who went on to rate in the mid-to-high 80's while he was still 22 or 23. He was eventually bought by Man City for crazy money I couldn't pass up. I also lucked out getting a Venezuelan who topped out at 90 OVR even though I never signed him, I think it was KAA Gent that snatched him up while I was undecided and he went on to be that beast. He ended up at Juventus.

Good call on Turuc, he's definitely the best player in the lineup at Kayserispor and I was lucky his injury wasn't serious. Yes I did just get promoted to League One last season (after coming up short the previous season) so I'm looking good for another promotion. Thing is the board wants the league title so that's pressure I gotta deal with. Thuram was 64 when I acquired him almost a season ago he's up to 68 now (tops out in the mid 70's) and still just 20. He's been a nice surprise for us this season.

I'm glad to see Thuram is catching folks' attention because he really has mine. I think his physicality has been a big part of his success as his strength, agility, and pace stand apart from the rest of his ratings. I'm trying to develop his shooting but I'll admit he doesn't get much training time as the guys from the YA. Luckily his performances are resulting in natural progression. What's your beef with Finland?
