It will let the CPU get behind the defense a bit easier, basically introducing your defensive line sooner. The important value to look at is that a marking discrep would have to occur, something where the user's has to go lower, so they don't go off and mark defenders, instead of the advanced midfielders.
In FIFA 16, I finished my set with a 45/50 length, but it was with a marking value of 40, which allowed it to look more zonal than the 50's and above. The problem, as always a balance, is that with a very low marking in 17, the defenders become indifferent and you can easily glide past them. As a result, a lower Sprint, and higher Accel (50) may be needed to compensate.
So, it's a chain reaction, but doable.
Anytime lines are adjusted, marking has to go next. From there, it's just about finding the balance of maintaining shape and ensuring it remains a challenge offensively and defensively.
I'll get stuck in a bit more tonight. I think the adjustments I finished up this morning are on the right track. We will see though.
