New patch eh?

I'll look forward it... Regarding the recent wave of posts... My brain hurts from trying to comprehend it all, wow.

Had this game on the shelf the last two weeks as I was transitioning into a different field at work. Eager to fire this back up, I left off right at the end of my first season with MUFC. 2nd in the league and poor cup performances, but didn't get fired!

Excited to bring in some players, but now the question is WHOM. Might try to just add nice depth and maybe 1 exciting talent to start or bring on often. Zlatan is still absolutely lethal at an 88 ovr, so going for Griezmann probably isn't in my summer plans. I did get one enquiry out to Barca for Neymar, quoted at 200m!!! I'll pass lol.

Directed at absolutely no one, I don't remember who said what and I honestly don't care. But man some of you guys make this game sound tougher than Abstract Algebra...lol. just enjoy playing the game. The fundamentals of soccer is Job #1. Not to dissect the code of default and how the AI responds to certain situations. I highly advise not evening worrying about any of that because there's nothing we, as a community can do about that. It's January 18. Enjoy the CMs. Me personally am loving width at 50. Why? Because it's what my eye sees as the best simulation, not because it's default. It's subjective and that goes for all sliders.

Again directed at no one. Just keep the game simple. Nothing is universal in the world of FIFA sliders lol I'll be streaming tonight as well and will post when.

Many thanks for the sliders. I'm using th ones from 10/24. I would never have thought of having full back positioning at 100/100. I've dropped from legendary to world class simply because every game on top level was a grind.
I'm playing in career mode as Doncaster and trying to get from league two to the premier league.
Thanks to your help every game is super. It's hard but that's how I like it. I play on fast and it's such an addictive game.
Thanks again for the help with the sliders. Last years FIFA 16 was a nightmare but this years game is stunning.

Hey everyone , after being away from fifa for about a week I fired it up today only to see there's a update 😪 can anyone tell me if it's affecting the sliders in anyway ? I have not installed the update yet. I was really staring to have so much fun with this set and I really hope this update doesn't ruin the hard work that you guys put into the set .

I'm on PC and have played a handful of games with the community sliders on the new patch. I honestly have not seen any difference on my end.

Some of us have been testing 50/50 Width for Matt and Co., would recommend you try it out and see if it works for you.

Took the start of the season off of FIFA to play "that other sim" and while it was fun, it just wasn't the same.

Came back to FIFA 17 and using the 1.03 sliders -- was initially having a great time on World Class but eventually started winning a lot of matches 1-0, 2-0, etc. and just saw too many clean sheets vs the CPU.

Recently switched to legendary and now I'm just not seeing enough goals period. I play typically on 6 minute halves, because I just don't have that much time to devote to matches, so that could be part of it, but I am seeing almost every match finishing 0-0, 0-1, 1-0.

Does anyone have any simple tweaks to the 1.03 they can recommend to increase the amount of goals scored? Increasing shot speed and accuracy? Reducing goal keeper ability?

I agree with KingKO's advice but could you provide us some stats from your games? How many shots do you and the CPU get in and how many are on target? What pass percentages do you see? Are you playing full manual, semi or assisted (in detail if possible).


The general advice is to reduce errors and add more semi/assisted controls where you use manual. You can also increase the speed to Normal if you are playing on Slow. Your choice what you absolutely want to keep.


Also, have you considered playing slightly longer halves (7 or 8 minutes) and just progressing slightly slower in your career? Or can you only squeeze in one 6-min half game per day?

Shot totals are kind of all over the place. The mean for me and the CPU is probably around 4/team/game, but the std deviation on my side is huge, there are certainly games when I don't actually get a shot off vs the CPU. Then there are others where I might get 7-8. CPU std deviation is lower.

Passing accuracy for me is typically 80-90%, using semi assisted passing. CPU is almost always around 90%.

The primary difference I notice on Legendary is the CPU tackling ability in the final third. It just becomes very easy for them to get the ball off of me, especially near the penalty box. I find that on world class the situation is a little more equal on both ends of the pitch.

OK, the stats are normal but so is the number of goals you are seeing. Not sure which set is 1.03 that you mention. Do you mean set #3 or the set we had for patch 1.03? (Is the most recent patch 1.04 or 1.05? I've lost count)


Anyway I would ensure User pass error and shot accuracy are set to 50. If you also want to increase CPU goals, bring those sliders nearer or at 50 too but be mindful that increasing pass accuracy for the CPU will mean less possession for you, so less goals for you.


If it needs more adjustment, put Keepers at 15 or even at 10.


From a controller settings point of view, make sure you are using at least Semi assisted shooting and Semi assisted crossing. Also very important is the Assisted through balls.


If you don't want to play on Normal speed, keep Speed and Acc at 50 (especially Acc, that's the most important thing). You'll need faster paced games to create more chances (you can get used to it, if you are not - sorry for the assumptions, just going by the information you have provided)


You can also increase Run Frequency to 60 or 70 (or 100 why the heck not). Sometimes, this messes up positioning the experts on this forum have said but perhaps in short halves that you play it doesn't matter that much (maybe the bad positioning will create more chances for you and the CPU? )


Can also increase shot speed by 1-2 points. I wouldn't go too much with this, it becomes too unrealistic, especially if you have lowered keepers to 10-15.


Last resort as I said increase half time by a minute or two.


That's my advice, maybe others will suggest additional options for you.
