Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders
Idk what happened and if its just me, but it really isnt the fifa 22 it was at the start. Then I enjoyer every single game, played 15 minute halfs on legendary and slow speed and it was amazing. Now I cant even win with Real Madrid against Real Betis anymore. They beat me with like 5-0 which is crazy. I cant get through any defense anymore as every team stands with 11 behind the ball, their passed are always perfect (even if I change pass error to like 80) and its just not fun anymore. When I change sprint speed to 100 and back to 0 I also dont really see a difference anymore. Do sliders still work correctly? It really feels different.Comment

I'll tell you what I have done, Matt commented that there was an increase of 3 points in the speed of the game, so I have lowered everything related to speed by 3 points (passing speed, playing speed ...) and it seems that it is going well, I don't know what Matt thinksComment

Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders
I 100% agree, the game was such a step in the right direction on launch but gradually it's turned a bit hectic again. Very fast gameplay now which is no fault of Matt's. Going to lay off it untill the next patch/slider update happens as it's just sheer frustration at this point
Totally agreeComment

Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders
Xbox Series X - 15 Minutes Halves - Full Manual Controls - World Class - Slow Speed
I honestly can't feel all this difference here after the latest Live Tuning update regarding game speed. Some games are faster and others are slower, just like in real life. And yes, the ball is more "alive" and independent. First touch control is much more dynamic and fun, both for me and the CPU.
Isn't it possible that previous and current gen are starting to distance between each other after these updates?! Now they are literally tuning the game without even patching it, so maybe aren't they focusing these adjusts with the new HyperMotion technology in mind, so the lack of it on PC and previous platforms is actually messing up with the gameplay?!
By the way, about sliders, I'm again using 25/65 for injury and all those 7 months multiple incidents seems to be gone for a while, thankfully! I even thought I was still using 15/65, but not.
15 minutes halves is a bit exhaustive sometimes and it doesn't let us play so many games at once to have bigger statistics, but it's so nice to have more time to play peacefully, passing the ball, and not rushing to the goal. Also, stoppage and extra times seems to be even more important, just like in real life.
The only letdown is that, no matter what happens, the game will always apply a huge injury time. This doesn't happen so much when using 10 minutes. This was never fixed in FIFA and since not so many people play 15/20 minutes, they will probably never care about this.Last edited by DoctorActionRio; 11-29-2021, 02:11 PM.Comment

Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders
I also haven't noticed any changes to game speed since the live update. I've played probably 15-20 matches. These games were played complete with new saves though so that could make a difference.
I'd love if instead of jumping from 10 to 15 minutes, you could choose times in between. In PES they go by total game length and I had it at 24 minutes. So having the option in FIFA to do 12 minutes halves would hit the goldilocks zone for me.

Yeah, this would be awesome! It would be a sweet spot. By the way, 15 minutes actually mean about 25 minutes of real life time, mainly if we don't jump cinematics, so if you make a small break after first half (and others here and there, for substitutions and tactics), the total match time will be almost one hour. So 12 minutes would be perfect!
Also, FIFA is totally crazy, as we know. Isn't short halves forcing the CPU to totally rush their gameplay? Who knows!
My recent matches were 1 x 1, 3 x 2, 2 x 2. Also lost to Liverpool by 5 x 0. So even with longer periods of time, I'm not experiencing unrealistic results. But, of course, I'm on full manual controls.Comment

Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders
Does anyone have any recommendations as to how to make the game harder? I'm currently playing on Ultimate with the current set of Matt's sliders and I'm winning every game by at least 3 goals with Newcastle's base squad.
The sliders on this forum are the only thing that has made Fifa playable in the last few years and 22 started out really strong but it feels like recent patches have been produced to appease weaker players.Comment

Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders
I'm getting very frustrated with the goals I'm conceding at the moment. I've bumped the difficulty up to Legendary because I was finding World Class a little too easy.
CPU teams are too good at passing in and around the area though and my defenders just stand around clueless. It's impossible to switch in time before they've moved the ball on. You can't keep up by usering but you also can't rely on the AI to mark because they simply don't.
I just played Leicester and their CAM played a ball into their ST, who was alone in the box. I had all five of my defenders in the box, but not one of them paid any attention to him and he just turned and scored.
Is the way to combat this usering a CB instead? I'm not used to using the secondary press but I've seen a couple mention this in this thread. Should I be manually marking the ST with one of my CBs and using the secondary press to pressure the ball with other players?
Also, does anyone score long shots? It's pretty difficult to get them off because CPU defenders are so quick to block them. Whenever I do get them off, they're either straight at the keeper or go wide. I think I've scored one goal from about 20 yards in three seasons and every other goal is inside the area.Comment

Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders
I too tottally agree. This game started out with so much potential. The passing felt amazing, shots were veried and looked so good (long shots were op though) an though the pace was fast the animations did look somewhat acceptable.
Now the passing feels horrible, its like the trajectory is on rails and it just doesn't look or feel good. Shots the same, for the most part. Don't get me wrong there are times a shot has dip an looks nice, but most of the time it's too straight or just looks an feels off.
Each update has promise of something good, like more fouls - there were literally months past by where I didn't get fouled by the ai before the patch. An although it was addressed, it has been excuted in such a weird an ugly way. Some fouls are just laughable. The update they did with shooting has messed it all up for me. You hardly ever see realistic goals now, specially from the ai, they're all vlasted into the top corner.
I like to shoot low, especially when 1v1 like irl, an even putting the slightest amount of power on sometimes makes your player lift the ball, perfect height for the keeper. The satisfaction of shooting a ball low an it hitting the back, bottom bar of the net, it making that 'clanck' noise an rolling up the netting is to die for. But try as I may, I cannot hit that shot anymore.
An the difficulty, well... I don't profess to be a pro, but I have played Fifa Career mode for literally - decades. An I like the that the game is harder this year, last year it was a joke, way too easy. But the way it is harder is just so frustrating. I know there is an age old argument that scripting does or doesn't exist, but this year certainly points in favour of. You can just tell when the ai wants to get a goal, it makes your players become almost uncontrollable, you can literally feel the way the game plays that something is off.
The back line an marking of your players is a joke. The ai are on you in the box, your players just back off an leave so much space for them to turn an hit the top corner, see it way too often. Since turning handballs off for pens, I haven't had an open play pen in 3 seasons now on my Man Utd career mode.
This is deffo not a reflection on Matt's sliders, an it is there for all to see the amount of work him an the community put in to combat all of this. But they are seemingly up against it each an every patch. The game, to me, doesn't look good or feel good anymore. Fingers crossed for a miracle patch next... done playing till then.
(Oh an as a side note - how on earth are we almost in December and still the Youth academy is a joke (noodle arms and no player names/numbers), the flickering player faces on next gen, disappearing scores on the score board and no auto orange ball for winter/snow games is beyond me)Comment

I have some doubts if it's better to use direction assistance in auto switch or not. Last FIFAs it was so much worse, but I still feel sometimes our players simply stop for a while when the CPU make a very long pass and I think this doesn't happen when using auto switch direction assistance. Meanwhile, sometimes this can also mess up some plays where we immediately need to move the player after a loose ball, but he briefly goes to a given direction first.
In the end, the truth is that each one must find what's better, depending of how we play and what affect us more.
About jockey, this is really interesting. I truly think that having it on manual is actually easier to defend, because the controlled player can move so fast left and right, in a bizarre way (just like in a Ultimate Team match), making possible to block more passes. Their movements are way more realistic when setting to assisted and this is how I prefer to play.Comment
