Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders

I think people get too tied to how the game “should” play between two teams.

Seems that outcomes are “expected” given the specific matchup, and that if the game result isn’t what it “should” be—then the assertion is that there’s something wrong with the sliders. Remember there are bizarre results in football all the time..

I want to point out a reminder that the result is not what is important here, but rather HOW that result was achieved.

Just my .02 after reading lots of feedback here..

I think this is a great point and I agree. I also question some comments I have seen as to what experience people are trying to achieve. People saying it’s too hard to play against top EPL teams, I mean shouldn’t it be? I’m Southampton, I want it to feel like “hell” playing City and Liverpool ans Man U. I would love to squeeze out a draw or a win occasionally, but I should get absolutely ponded by them most of the time. It seems some people want an easier experience. Which makes zeroing in on sliders for everyone really hard. Luckily for me, I feel like Matt is adjusting sliders with the type of experience I am looking for as the goal, because I have been very happy with each evolution.

Great points. There is also the option to simply play with the setting/versions that give YOU the best results. I know everyone is just trying to help the community effort, but keep in mind there are A LOT of people who play with these, who aren't as active on OS.

For me, V6 is another step towards the ultimate goal. There needs to be patience though, as this process is a lengthy one- through no fault of anyone- EA just release a LOT of patches.

We also have a new system (hypermotion) to learn and understand.

Great feedback from all, I mean that, just exercise a bit of patience.

You all are right, but I had not taken into account that Matt is working on PC without hypermotion, and he doesn't have to have the same results or sensations as in next gen. Maybe it would be better to separate the next gen and old gen sliders into different threads..

Someone asked something related weeks ago, about if the other CPU players of the same team as the specific player career would use the human or the AI sliders.

I'm sure the sliders set will work, but this above doubt persists. I'm almost sure a teammate will use the same sliders as the opposite team and just you specifically will be using the sliders designed for us.

If someone knows we would really appreciate the help here.

Re: FIFA 22 OS Community Sliders

Finished up doing some Legendary testing on slow and normal with 70 marking, 30/30 & 35/35 passing and speed at 10/15. PS4. Some thoughts:

Playing around in the last 24 hours...for the purpose of tackling effectiveness when in great positions against the CPU, the CPU's speed appears to hit the sweet spot at 15. I saw fairness in play when I had it at 10/15 but I think speed discrepancy is essentially a difficulty slider of preference.

For me, when the speed is equal for both on slow or normal, it's too easy to get in behind.

There are some issue related to game speed which I don't think sliders fix:
SLOW - The jockeying when inside the penalty box leading to easy chances. This is mitigated more if playing on normal under the same settings.
NORMAL - If you are sprinting and get the ball, your first touch at times is comically overpowered. This seems to diminish on slow speed.

I think, for me, I will keep pass speed at 30/30. The ball felt more realistic regardless of game speed. And the overpowered CPU 500 straight passes at the top of the box thing stopped.

Speed at 10/15 (I might make it 12/15 if I decide to stay on legendary normal speed but I feel the CPU needs a little bump over the user to even things out)

I forgot in my first match to adjust the marking back up to 70 from 65...the difference in the halves is just crazy with people actually trying to mark at 70. It feels like I moved it from 30 to 70 and not from 65. Very strange.

I think the "guts" of V6 sliders are solid overall. It's just tweaking them to your style of play and custom tactics (On balanced, there's a little too much standing around as if the players lack direction once you win the ball back)

My last tweak is to move down from legendary to world class on normal speed with the V6 + changed settings mentioned above and see what happens.

I'm in the MLS Final so I've been replaying the same match for consistency.

Recent streams by Matt were done playing on Stadia, which is next gen and also already have the second patch.

From what I know, Stadia streams PC games, not PS5 games, right?

Well, I really don't know what's the "default machine/console" Google Stadia uses, but I'm sure FIFA 22 is next gen there.

Check the latest Matt stream on Twitch. He's even using the new EA Game Cam, which is exclusive for the next gen version of the game since FIFA 21.

I believe Matt tests the sliders on PS5, Stadia and PC

Yeah, I just checked it, Stadia includes nexgen tech. All right then.

All I can comment on is what I’m seeing in my games. Playing against Burnley felt just as hard as playing against ManU. This is on world class too.

                            Changelog & Updates:

Timestamp: 10/20/2021 | 8:05 PM CST --- A couple more tests, and it seems the original Sprint 15/20 will remain, even for Legendary - so that part will change. After that, the other values are intact, with only marking looking good at 65 (from 70). It's early days on post-patch update, but very promising.

So, changes expected to create Version 6:

                            Sprint - 15/20 (All difficulties)
Pass Speed - 40/40 (All difficulties)
                            Marking - 65/65 (All difficulties)
                            Height - 0/0 (All difficulties)
                            Length - 40/40 (All difficulties)
                            Width - 65/65 (All difficulties)
So this can be applied to PS4 before the newest patch correct?

That's what I did and I've been tinkering around with it since. Post-patch, I'll see how it plays with what I wind up settling on v. the actual Matt V6 settings.
