Re: EA SPORTS FC 24 OS Community Sliders

I will always be grateful to Matt for what he does for us, but honestly I didn't like these Sliders V3, I noticed the game was too fast, everything was too fast. Much difference with the V2

I play with the internet connection disconnected and this problem still continues.

Happens every single year. EA release a really good game. But the content creators cry at the game being too slow and too realistic. So EA speed it up and ruin it.
To be honest, I agree with rasotom6. I played half a season on v3, the game felt faster, arcade-ish and more like previous versions of FIFA. I kept wondering whether this was due to v3 or the title update. I reset sliders to v2 and it did feel like the game improved again.

Teams regained their tactical identity, Luton actually did "kick and rush" instead of just pass, pass, pass, cutback, pass. Ball felt more alive too and the variety in the game was back, where no two games felt the same.

Seeing how Matt and the testers are loving v3, I'll have to give it another go. Will try to disconnect from EA's servers. Ridiculous that we have to do this every year, even in their botched NHL series they allow you to choose which gameplay version to use when playing offline.

If an older version works better for a user, stick with that. Avoid slideritits, everyone has preferences- if something works for you STICK with it!

Absolutely adore the types of passes and runs I’m seeing in V3. Attacking has maybe never felt more varied. The AI is a tough nut to crack! The loose touches also result in some very realistic turnover opportunities for both sides. I’m giving the ball away a a ton, and the AI can punish those mistakes.

On PC and have not noticed any difference in speed since update. V3 has slowed things down with a few more errand passes and touches. It is almost perfect . Still working out a few tactic changes to get teams playing their style, but at this point, for a EA game and it’s known issues I cannot complain. The next update with gameplay changes is what I am worried about though…..

The main thing that was important is that their control in possession - even after having the ball for a while.

Regarding World Class, I can't remember when I've won with this Birmingham team. This is a test CM, which I haven't invested any off-pitch time on at all, so it's no surprise how I'm performing.

Terrible defending from me, mainly trying different things that I've done in the past (control CDM only, legacy defending to try to tackle, etc) - but the game punishes you when you get out of position. No issues with the aggression from both sides. Had my chances as well.

Het Matt, have you given Advanced defending much of a go? I find it's the best way to defend as you can choose between a shoulder barge or a normal safe tackle.

I'm finding the shoulder bafge is really good when running almost side by side, if timed well you knock then off the ball legally. It's I nice little touch this year.

I have more testing to do with V3, but there is no need to play V3 if you prefer V2. Maybe V4 suits you better.

In the 2k sub-forum, there are about 6 or 7 threads regarding sliders (plus the rosters + sliders threads).

                    I completely agree.
The V2 set was more challenging for me, so I enjoy it more. The marking 55 and the line length 32 may have been the reason.
The defense is much more densely packed, so it's harder for me to break through the legendary AI defense, and luckily my defenders are well packed, so I get few goals.
                    There are a lot of 0-0, 1-0, 1-1, 2-0, 2-1.....
I love it... it's true that I only play with 4-minute halves, but the sliders are still perfect.

Absolutely agree with this. Ultimately we all want to achieve the same thing, the most realistic football game possible. And this beautiful community here is elite at taking everyone's impressions and opinions into accomplishing that.

So when V3 is out, I really believe there's a reason for that. Matt wouldn't release updates for the sake of updating, unless he thinks it improves gameplay. However, I did at times find myself agreeing with some of the others on here, that some variety, individual team tactics and realism went missing. I've reverted back to V3 now (disconnected from servers) and it does play well.

Advanced defending definitely seems like the way to go this year - a welcome addition. Also keeping Precision Pass Sensitivity on High and Shot Assistance on Manual (playing FUMA).

Been playing with the injury sliders this year too, in an effort to replicate what Matt was targeting towards the end of the FIFA 23 cycle. Essentially more variety in animations leading to injuries, sometimes players requesting subs, sometimes shaking it off.

Ultimately want to see less broken toes and more 2-4 week injuries, allowing for squad rotation without losing half your Starting XI for the season. Still early days but I do find that increasing the Frequency and reducing Severity actually helps (currently testing 75 - 17).

Just played my first game with V3 on PC and it played extremely well. Using the WC Slow Speed short half set.

I saw a few crosses and pass attempts that I haven’t seen the AI try to make that I haven’t seen before.. it was a sight to see. The ball was definitely more alive. I like FT at 100 now as it also seemed to help with some shots going wide. I lost 0-2 with M’Gladbach vs a lower team. Granted I was feeling things out and adjusted.. it played really well.

I was having some speed issues before but I repaired my files before I started with V3 and it played smooth. Still getting some jitters, lag, and even screen tear but that’s a EA issue.

Thanks for the set Matt. This is refreshing gameplay compared to previous recent FIFAs.

Has anyone else been getting completely wiped out from behind by the CPU? I’m on Legendary (V3), just played 3 KO games and in every single one, the CPU had a man sent off for flying in with a slide tackle from behind as I collected the ball with my defender from a short goal kick/free kick.

Quite frustrating trying to keep the game realistic yet ending up playing against 10 men every match!

I raised my marking on v3 up to 53 for both. There's a little more responsiveness from the CPU but they don't really over chase and get drawn out too much. I also lowered user RF to 25 to help keep the CPU from stretching and remaining closer together.

Having played a few games back on V2. There could something to this. It played better on V2 than V3.

However - the game has unquestionably sped up since the update. The game is far more ice-skatey in my opinion. The animations are quicker and the game is much less enjoyable, even on V2.

It might be because I play on legendary. World class usually feels much better and plays less 'cheaty'. But I also find it's too easy on world class.

It's really frustrating because the sliders were playing so perfectly before the update. Even on legendary. But now, it's gone back to super fast pace, sliding across the pitch, the ball being glued to their feet, and every attack is out wide, cut in, Michael Jackson footwork, cut back, goal. I haven't seen one single cross attempted.
