Re: PES 2012 Demo 2 Impressions/Discussion
The goalie are fixed (they weren't very good in Demo 1)
The speed has been bumped up a little.
Demo 1 was like a Beta of sorts, Demo 2 is what the final product will be like.
It is available in the UK Store.Comment

Re: PES 2012 Demo 2 Impressions/Discussion
Darn, I had a euro account but with the new security since the anonymous takedown, I have to enter a new password and it won't let me do it through the pS3.
And, I used a bogus email so I can't retrieve instructions there
================================================== =====
Found instructions to set up another Euro account and am downloading demo 2 now
Demo 2 has different teams (Inter, Tottenham Hotspur, Rangers FC, Bayern Munich).

Re: PES 2012 Demo 2 Impressions/Discussion
Here was my honest comparison of the two games back when demo #1 was released and I believe it still holds true. Although after playing FIFA I think it will be a good game for the league I'll be playing in, but I probably won't play too much against the CPU:
I am genuinely amazed watching how well the computer marks offensive players on the pitch. In FIFA, defenders are stagnant, and defensive shape is mainly defined by simply keeping a defender between the offensive player and the goal. This is one of the main reasons that "ping-pong" passing still exists on FIFA and will likely still exist on FIFA 12. Not the case on PES 2012.
On PES 2012, you can feel more secure that players are usually pretty well marked, and defenders recognize open players. Thye make efforts to remain marked on their assigned man and prevent their marking to even receive a pass. As Milan (I play with them a lot. I mean who doesn't like using Robinho), I noticed that a pressing defense like Napoli, will close down hard on Robinho to make sure I don't get a lot of time to create for the big Swede up front.
I may have stated this before, but you hardly find an unmarked player on corner and crosses on the PES 2012 demo. If he is unmarked, he is probably off-sides. Most of you know that my biggest issue with FIFA is unmarked players on corners and crosses. Also, the keeper plays a lot better than FIFA. The keeper reacts on most balls in the box, not just the one's that bounce 3 feet in front of him, minimizing unrealistic cheap goals.
In my opinion, the ball physics in PES has always been better than FIFA. FIFA has always seemed to have the magnetic quality where the ball will go to the player. On PES (again this is my opinion), it seems that the game is programmed where the players are magnetic to the ball and not the other way around (if that makes any sense), which is why you see such a larger range of shots and deflections that are hardly created on FIFA.
Playing this game, I think that you can immediately recognize the two different paths that each developer is taking to get to where they want to be for a football simulation. PES took an inside-out path. Meaning, since the release of this generation of consoles, the PES team seemed to be more focused on making sure the AI autonomously played the game like it is played on the pitch. As we all know though, the graphics looked like crap and the interactions between the players was horrid.
FIFA on the other hand, went outside-in. FIFA made a beautiful game with amazing and intuitive controls. Also the player/player interaction was unmatched by PES. However, you would pull your hair out at some of the stupid runs CPU teammates made and the fact that the game seemed very restrictive on assisted controls and there was little to no error in the passing. Real-world physics addition on FIFA is a confirmation of the outside-in theory.
Probably since I love the sport, I love both games. Before this year, PES was more cerebral and for a football (soccer) connoisseur. It didn't have that "pick up and play" attractiveness that FIFA allowed for. I mainly played it for its BAL(Become-A-Legend) mode since the players played so realistically on the pitch. I don't think that's the case with this year's PES offering, because PES has that pick up and play quality this year.
I don't think I've had this much fun with a football demo since FIFA '09, so we'll see Sept 13th what FIFA has to offer. But I'm telling you guys now, if FIFA still has issues like laser accurate passing on semi, suction headers, and crappy keeping I'm only buying PES 2012 this year.Originally posted by My Wife"The Celtics only won because they have a magical elf playing for their team...."Comment
