If you want the game ASAP, don't buy from Amazon. Download Steam and buy it that way. (If you're on a PC). There's another option for Mac users, let me know if that's what you need.Comment

I'm trying to start a career as a sunday league footballer, but no one seems to want to hire me.
I guess I'll have to restart and add other nations, like south africa.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I landed at Newton AFC, in the Principality Building Society Welsh Premier League.
We were lying 16/18. 1 spot above the drop zone, after 11 matches. After a few signings, we're 15th, 2 points from 13th. I'll post the full table after I get further into the season.
One note of interest, one of my big signings scored in the 90th on his debut to lift us to a 2-1 victory. All 39 home supporters went wild.
EDIT:
After 20 games into the season, things are starting to spiral out of control. My big time striker is out for 3 months, we're 10 points out of relegation with 12 matches left, and dropping.
Morale is down in the dumps, and the players just aren't playing how they should. I just had the team captain call a meeting, hopefully that will provide the spark we need to get to the offseason, where I will be able to reduce payroll and hopefully sign some more guys.
I'll post the table tomorrow, I'm falling asleep.Last edited by Whitesox; 04-04-2010, 03:26 AM.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I'm officially into my season in charge of my beloved Gunners while taking a short break from my super awesome Barca save
Anyhow, I started my save with a plan to stick with youngsters while signing an established keeper who could help me win games
With that in mind, I added the following:
Rene Adler (GK) - 17 million
Alex Smithies (GK) - 1.5 million
Jordan Spence (DRC) - 2.5 million
Danny Wilson (DLC) - 3.7 million
Aaron Spear (FC) - Compensation
Michael Potts (MC) - Compensation
James Wallace (AMC) - Compensation
I wanted to sign primarily British youngsters although one of my scouts found a solid South Korean defender to sign for my youth team
As for outs, I got rid of:
Denilson
Silvestre (thank heavens)
Almunia
Traore
These guys were surplus to requirements and I didn't need them. I also sent out some of my young players on loan like Merida, Barazite, Coquelin etc
I decided to stick with a 4-5-1 (4-3-3)
GK: Adler, Smithies
DR: Sagna, Eboue
DL: Clichy, Gibbs
DC: Gallas, Wilson
DC: Vermaelen, Campbell
DMC: Song, Frimpong
MC: Diaby, Rosicky
MC: Fabregas, Ramsey
AMR: Nasri, Bendtner
AML: Arshavin, Walcott
FC: RVP, Eduardo
Other than my keeper, I kept my team the same to build a solid winning team!
I've won my first 3 league games and beat Atletico 3-0 on aggregate to get into the CL. Will post regular updates and it feels great to finally have an Arsenal saveComment
