Except for preseason, in which I got the idea from someone to just have my squad just train in aerobic and strength.

Of course, my Arsenal squad have reached the top of the injury table. It took us long enough, though. There was some tough, errr...weak competition on the way.

So my buddy decided to offer me this challenge...he (Spurs fan) will manage Arsenal while I will manage Spurs over a long term save and the challenge is to see who can have the more successful side over a long-term save.

I can't imagine myself playing as the Spuds, but in good fun, I decided to take him on with the loser having to wear the duds of the rival team and some moolah....So, don't think I converted with my Spurs updates. I still have my main Arsenal save, but the Spurs one is going to be a challenge since I don't want to see them win anything at all lol

So realistic. Rosicky has a twisted ankle and no one knows when he'll come back.

Depends. Is KA still in the 2nd Division (1. deild karla) and Fylkir in the 1st Division (Úrvalsdeild) on your game?

Sitting in good shape going into the second half of the season. Still in the USOC, about to start the CCL and Buddle has been a BEAST.

This game is scary sometimes isn't it? In my save, Torres couldn't hit the broad side of a barn for most of the season and generally acted depressed, then Joe Cole has basically been a lump of crap.

We play great against the top clubs and are mentally challenged against teams we should handle. I heart FM.

For fun, I just looked at the injury table. Rosicky has a twisted knee. LOL.

A week after he came back from that injury, he returned from international duty with a broken rib. Far too realistic! The guy can't even get back in training.

Oh, also, Van Persie suffered his first injury of the season, a broken forearm.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

First season completed in my Liverpool save:

In a rare blatantly unrealistic FM result, Arsenal ran away with the league. Everton held the lead most of the way, but then fell off the face of the earth with about 10 matches left. We finished slightly above expectations, which were to qualify for the Europa League. Man U and Chelsea could not overcome a very slow start. As for Man City...they had a terrible season losing in the same round and us of the Europa League and never making any noise. Somehow they still have their manager. Harry Redknapp was sacked at the end of the season at Spurs. Not pictured is Nottingham Forest, who won the Carling Cup and will be playing in the Europa League. Bolton finished runner up to Villa in the FA Cup, so they took another Europa spot. So, no Europe for Chelsea next year!

The cups were an unmitigated disaster for us. We lost out to AA Gent in the final qualifying round before the group stage of the Europa League 2-1 on aggregate. A small run using a B team found us in the quarters of the Carling Cup where we lost out to Bolton. Finally, a 3rd round FA Cup defeat at the hands of Burnley, rounded out the disappointing cup campain.

Even though he had a disappointing season by his standards, Torres was named to the team of the year along with Reina.

Transfers in before season: Wonderkid Romelu Lukaku ($15 mil), and a couple young promising players in Vegar Edden Heganstad (CM/RB, $3mil) and Silviu Lung Jr. (GK, $2.2mil).

Transfers in January: Shortly after the first window closed, an unhappy Giuseppi Rossi was offered up by Villarreal for $9.5 mil. I snapped him up for that and he joined in January.

Notable players out on loan for the season: Fabio Aurelio to Roma ($6 mil buy option exercised, will be leaving on July 1.), Alberto Aquilani (Juventus), Emeliano Insua (Galatasaray), Phillip Degan (Stuttgart), and Nabil El Zahr (PAOK)

I decided not to renew the contract with Charles Intanje (backup GK) and he will be leaving. Also dropped several youth players who would have never come up.

The transfer strategy going forward will be similar to last season. Go after promising youngsters and take advantage of any bargains on established players if they arise. We have the depth needed to be able to handle some match congestion. EDIT: The only player I'm considering splashing the cash for is Gareth Bale, but Spurs are dismissing $30mil like I have 2 heads.

In the three versions I've played, about 100 plus seasons, I've never been offered the Manchester United job.

Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool yes, but United no. What's up with that FM?

He clearly secretly loves Arsenal. You're the real winner considering you've yet to start the game.
