Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

Finally bought the game, started a Liverpool save. Bought some American players (Mwanga, M. Bradley, Altidore) but the Work Permit fell through completely on Bradley and forced me to loan out Mwanga to my Belgian Affiliate. . So going forward from there I managed to get Javi Martinez from Bilbao even though Real and Barca were after him. Sold Poulsen to Bayern (hahaha dummies) trying to offload some others, no one is biting, yet. Started Altidore w/ Jovanivic up front in my first Europa League qualifier and he had a brace, so hopefully he can keep that form going into the league, as Torres is having a bad case of clown feet in the friendlies he's played in.....

When you guys start a new game, do you get transfer money to spend? I started two different games with Milan, one just to mess around, and now a new save with all of my leagues added. When challenged to say what I thought of my teams chances (win title/compete for title), each option had $0 for transfers. I read someone else at evo-web say the same for another team he started a game with.

Now that is technically accurate as they don't have any money to spend at the moment as they have tightened the rein's a bit, but just wondered if this is always the case. I know I checked the option to have transfers start right away at the start of the new game. Funny thing is that there are rumors saying that I am going after someone, but I have no money!

There should be a tick box somewhere when you start a new game entitled "Enable Budgets in the First Window", or something to that effect. If you can't find it, then I'll try to take a picture of it,

I just used last year's pack. I'll wait until someone puts out a torrent. Too much hassle right now to download it.

No torrent this year. You should download the new pack, everything is cleaned up and updated.

                        Why not?

Anyway, filefront download was fine. I was able to download them simultaneously (to my relief).

It's not even that we are that worried about people stealing it or anything, it's more that we have BIG plans for the megapack, and if it's shipped out on torrent we'll lose touch with all you guys that downloaded it, the Megapack is also like a little flag waving for us, perhaps if you like it you will want to see more stuff around the site, last year people just shared the torrent and thousands had no idea where it came from or others took credit for making it. It was always the most popular page on other sites, but people never got to hear of the updates we were creating.

To be quite honest we probably should have held it back, but we made a promise to release it yesterday and therefore felt we had to do so.

Make schedules based on position, such as striker, winger, full back, etc.

Emphasize the training for each schedule on areas that you want to improve based on the skills that the position demands. For example, it doesn't make much sense to train defenders on offensive skills, so your central defender schedule should crank up the defensive and strength areas and scale back on the offensive and skill areas. Keep an eye on the workload as you don't want to tire your players out in training and make them unhappy by working them too hard.

I haven't gotten into individual training regimes yet, but the above is a good starting point.

Also important is assigning your coaches (if your team employs a large staff) to areas based on their strengths. This year, the coaches are assigned in a much better way by default. In prior years, all coaches would be set to all areas, but now they are assigned in a somewhat logical way. You'll still want to check it to maximize the star level of all the areas. Again here, you need to keep an eye on the workloads of the coaches so they aren't stretched too thin. Having coaches with a heavy workload makes training less effective.

I can't really blame them for that, though I'm unsure what BIG plans is supposed to mean.
