EDIT:
Well, I guess I'm the 18th best manager ever, in the world, in the history of soccer.

You know how I know this game is great?
I just watched someone else play an online match against the AI, and it was fun. A little too much fun, actually.Comment

I love how you cost the Brazilian coach his job.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
The Brazilian manager gets fired twice a year. I've never been able to get the job, but I'm guessing the FA's expectations are something like "Win every match at least 2-0"Comment

He opens his Sevilla account, and brings home the goods. Bringing in some veteran presence on frees (Robinho and Lampard) has already paid off!

The Brazil coach was fired during the 2014 World Cup, after Brazil advanced to the knockout round. The team finished the tournament without a head coach. The FA is ridiculous.YNWA

Just qualified for the 2010 World Cup, defeating the US in the final game and winning the stage.
I also quit the Wolves, cause the board would not allow me to bring more coaches and physios.Comment

Professional seems to be the best for these types of games. Opens up options without getting you big club offers.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Exactly. I started with international rep. but immediately got offers from Corinthians and Heerenveen so I retired and used professional instead.Comment

My Aston Villa team, after being on top for about two weeks, has suddenly gone to hell.
Went from first to sixth, and my morale is plummeting. All my goal scorers have gone cold and my defense is giving up stupid goals.Too Old To Game Club

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
After holidaying for a bit, I find myself at Futebol Clube de Vizela.
Founded in 1939, Futebol Club Vizela are a professional Portuguese club currently playing in the Campeonato Nacional da Segunda Divisão Zona Norte. The club play their home games at Estádio do FC Vizela and possess adequate training facilities and a basic youth setup.
As a club which enjoyed its best spell of success during the 1980s and their last competition win coming as recently as 2005, Vizela are a club with a growing history. Vizela finished runner-up in the Portuguese 2nd teir for only the time in 1984, won the 2ª Divisão Série A in 2005, and won the 3ª Divisão in 1982.
The team is actually sitting in 1st (of 15), twenty games into a 28-game season. The top team qualifies for the promotion playoff.
I have been given a transfer budget of $14,000 USD and a payroll budget of $18K per week.Last edited by Bruins; 08-19-2010, 07:49 PM.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
2 questions for you, Bruins.
1. Are those kits at the top the ones that you download and put in the game? They look a lot like them. If so, where did you get them?
2. What kind of a team fires it's coach when he is doing so well more than 2/3 of the way through the season? Or did he quit?
Anyway, looking forward to hearing more.Last edited by Whitesox; 08-19-2010, 08:18 PM.Comment
