Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
For me there is something almost addictive about hunting out those quality regens, I think I almost enjoy the game more when it gets full of them. I've found a few decent ones so far for my Twente side, no future Messi's or Ronaldo's yet though!Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Agreed. I hit big on about 5-6 of them in my FM11 Liverpool save. I'll probably go back eventually to play it just because I grew attached to them and they're all hitting their primes at the same time.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Just had the biggest upset I've ever had in fm. This game was e p i c and very, very stressful.....
And for a better picture of how big this upset was here are the rosters
We now play Spain in the Semis and I'm really not expecting anything to come out of it, we lost to them in the group stages 1-3. I won't really care if we get demolished, the Great Britain win was enough for me.Comment

On a different note, I was pissed when Team GB basically hijacked most of my first-team for the Olympics. They ended up winning medals, but they missed most of pre-season and I had to do with a bit of a make-shift squad for my Community Shield match with Arsenal. My Man. United squad played well enough but we lost 2-3.
Should be an interesting year after my treble winning season. Rio Ferdinand wants the same pay-scale as Rooney which I am not about to give him and no offers have come in for him except for Chelsea (who I will not sell to). Decisions decisions!Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Thanks.
Looking forward to buying the game sometime today or tomorrow from Steam. Think I've spent hours already in the demo trying to learn the UI and trying to understand the depth of the game. I'd lie if I said I wasn't overwhelmed a couple times already but I'm already getting that I need more feeling.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I stopped playing for a bit because I want to start a massive save but my CPU isn't good enough lol
I'm going to buy a new CPU at New Year's and bust out the solid 125,000 player save.Blue Jays, Blackhawks, AuburnComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Love the 125,000 saves lol. I've been going hardcore the last couple of weeks with my Spurs save before I start my Real Madrid one
I must say that Spurs have been awesome. Into Christmas and the team is unbeaten. I've got an 8 point lead on United. VdV and Bale have been solid, but Defoe has outshone Adebayor as my main striker
My signings:
-Kara
-Baines
-Kovacic
-Kadlec
-Guilherme
-Raheem Sterling
-Romario
I've been pulling the 'ol Harry trick sitting out my top players for the Europa league and we qualified. Best win was a 4-0 win at home against Chelsea.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Just had one of those memorable seasons where it all goes down to the last day.
With 5 games of the season left to play for my FC Twente side and a real 3 horse race developing we had both our rivals PSV (home) and Ajax (away) still to play. The game with PSV exploded into life early with us 2-1 and a man down inside the first 12 minutes, we managed to get a late equaliser which kept us just clear of PSV and Ajax. The Ajax game came with just 3 games left to play, again we went down to 10 men in the first half of a vital game, we then gave up a 71st minute penalty to go a goal down but somehow scrambled home a late own goal equaliser to take a huge point. That kept us top with just 2 games left, the League Table shows just how close it was with a 3 way tie on 70 points.
With our superior goal difference all we needed to do was win our last two games, both at home against Excelsior and RKC. We did, winning both 2-0 to claim the Eredivisie title by just 2 points. Undoubtedly one of the most exciting title races I have ever been involved in during my many years playing this great series.
