Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Germany got knocked out of the European Championships (Euro 2012) by Ukraine, in the quarter final. They couldn't beat Poland and Croatia in their group (Germany, Poland, Montenegro, Croatia) matches. I thought this was very strange for the German side I saw in recent matches (IRL).
So curious me went ahead and took a peek at their roster and what I found is very shocking. None of the 23 players registered for the biggest tournament in Europe is signed to a club. Like WTF?
Here is their squad:
Zdravko Aust, Dirk Urbainski, Tobias Lott, Bjorn Klappert, Benjamin Neumann, Andreas Sautner, Klaus Dotterweich,Markus Gindorf, Andreas Schumski, Phillip Boller, Frank Schafer, Timo Wirtz, Elias Mohr, Leon Schafer, Guisseppe Ehlert, Manfred Ates, Pascal Kobatz, Hans-Jurgen Wenninger, Olaf Hasenkamp, Sascha Hasanovic, Soren Otte, Phillip FilingerComment

If you want to do it manually (in case you already have a competition name fix) you need to delete the Fake.lnc file in Steam\steamapps\common\football manager 2012\data\db\1200\lnc\all. Due to licensing issues with the German national team, unless you delete this file fake players are generated and called up to Germany.
Now I just gotta learn German to know which award is which, LOL.ST. LOUIS RAMS FRANCHISE (MADDEN 2010)

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I'm still playing FM10 as the newer games look a bit overcomplicated to me, and I don't like that much micromanaging of detail.
I don't see how you guys win so much. I always struggle, even when playing as a big name club. I guess I just suck.I remember getting all excited when my BSS team finally won promotion and the FA Trophy in the same season, only to get smoked in the BSP the next season.
I try to play realistically though. I only use scouts to find players and only look at scout reports instead of ratings to sign them. I only look at ratings after I have signed a guy. So a lot of my pain is self-inflicted.
Anyway, the German team thing is a well-known issue going back to FM05 and it's not even allowed to be discussed on the official SI forums.Once upon a time, I had a lovely signature. Then it died. The end.Comment

But if you think I'm tough, you should check out the Lower League Managers board on the SI forums. Some of those guys are ridiculously hardcore.Once upon a time, I had a lovely signature. Then it died. The end.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Year 2 with Chelsea is now complete. A let down compared to year 1. 2nd place in the EPL, quarter final loss to Barcelona (4-2 agg), loss to West Bromwich in the 4th round of the FA Cup, and loss to Wolves in the semifinal of the Carling Cup with my youngsters. Also lost the Shield game to City and the Super Cup to Mardid. Did win the World Club Cup though.
May of 2013 was my worst month ever. There was a stretch of games in three weeks that consisted of playing Manchester City, Tottenham, Liverpool and Barca twice. 5 of those games in less than a 3 week span really put a strain on my squad. Also didn't help that once again in spring Terry was out.
Here is the table:
My 2011 January signing of Cavani has turned out amazing. Took him half that season to blend into the squad and get up to condition on my system. He absolutely dominated year 2. 43 goals in 45 total appearances.
Now it's going to be a important summer. Goal is reshape the defense. Luiz is staying. Might be time to make Terry a rotational player and not sure if I'm brining back Cole or Bosingwa. I'll probably bring back one at least though.
Also Torres had a solid season but I'm still fishing him around and looking to see who will bite. Biggest interest has been from Juve and Inter. Inter seems to continue to low ball me while I don't want a 3 year payment plan from Juve for Torres.
The summer signing of Sneijder worked out well. No long injuries and he performed well but at the end I still feel I overspent on him. This summer wise don't see myself splashing a big sum of money into one player unless it's a defender. Unfortunately AC Milan won't part with Silva.Last edited by Altimus; 12-28-2011, 08:28 PM.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Well I got sacked from Leeds at the start of December. I took them to the Quarter Finals of the League Cup but apparently my 14th place on the table wasn't good enough for the Board. I tried pep talking my team, but they thought I was being unreasonable by suggesting they could play better.
Good news is that after a 2 week Holiday I've been offered and accepted the job to Manage Reading. They are currently sitting 11th in the Championship. They must have had more faith in me than my squad at Leeds, since I was just sacked 2 weeks ago.
First match in charge we should have held onto our lead but a defender chose a poor route and let in the game winner. I have 2.4 Mill in the transfer budget and will probably look to strengthen come January.Comment

Doug, you have to go the Roy Keane way, and loan in all the Manchester United reserves. Work for me in FM 11 with QPR.Comment

Dammit, my application for the Seattle job was leaked to the media. I had to apologize to the board and the fans want my head.
The Nordsjaelland job is getting stale, and with almost no prospects of ever winning the league with our finances, I've been looking for a new club.Comment

Well I just got the game from Steam, I have alot of HDD space so I hope to get a deep experience with alot of different nations loaded. I am just a lil overwhelmed with the downloads lol I plan on using google (and help from you guys) to point me in the right direction to get all the packs.
Its crazy I am just finding out about this game (never really paid it any mind; never was interested in computer gaming) but this look like something I would dream of!
Wish they made games for other sports, lol I'd never buy a console sports game again!
