Tim will have to have the final say since he's running it now but make sure you have the Hamachi chat client downloaded and your in the OSFM group. We're in the middle of the offseason right now so it would be the best time to jump in.Comment

Justin - We generally play on Sunday and Tuesday nights where everyone can show up or have said it's OK to sim. Usually starting around 7:00-8:00 Central, and go for anywhere from 3-5 hours depending on people's (well mostly my) work schedule the next day. We just ask that you commit to at least giving the go ahead to sim if you aren't going to be there. Obviously stuff will come up where you can't. In that case, we take into consideration what's going on in the season - if you have a cup final or are in a relegation or title battle, we wouldn't go on. To give you an idea of the timing, last night we played for a good 4+ hours and got through 1 month of offseason. Typically a session is around 4-6 matches.
What team were you thinking about wanting to take control of?Last edited by ImTellinTim; 04-09-2012, 03:24 PM.Comment

He was in the network while we were picking teams, so that won't be a problem. Last night would have been the absolute perfect time to jump in since we got the real offseason grinding done. But we're on July 1 right now, so it's still a good time. As far as I'm concerned, the more the merrier.

Bezzey is at Bolton right now. Newcastle is still in the Premier League. I think that's a fair place to jump in.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 04-10-2012, 12:07 PM.Comment

Cisse was never there because we started with the beginning of season database. I brought him into Tottenham in January of year 1. After a decent start, he had a rough second season. Not sure about the others.Comment

I always have a nice laugh when FM clearly doesn't have past memories programmed in. Carlo Ancelotti got another run at Chelsea in mine.Comment

FM never ceases to surprise me. Rafa back at Liverpool? Hilarious! At least that's a better managerial pickup than Mark Hughes getting hired by Arsenal in my journeyman save. To be fair, Hughes did manage QPR to a 4th place CL birth, but he's also Mark Hughes.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
So first manager I did was with the Rapids in the MLS to try some stuff out. First year was terrible because I had no idea what I was doing. Second season, made the playoffs before losing to the Galaxy(Who are always good and never lose it seems like), third year got fired although I was in a playoff hunt.
So I started a new one with Millwall from English League Championship. Thought it would be fun to get them promoted to EPL. So far after 30 games, I'm just outside of getting promoted having 54 points. I'm the 7th seed, and #1 Burnley has 59 and #2 West Ham as 57. Andrew Keogh leads the team with 16 goals and 10 assist. Pretty good for a guy I had as a sub to start the year, but Darius Henderson was doing nothing for me.
I didn't have much money to spend in the transfer market, so I couldn't do much. I even asked for more money, but still couldn't find anyone. I did sign Javier Güemez, who was great for me with the Rapids one, but he couldn't get the work permitSo far, I'm having really fun with this game.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Ask the board for a Parent club, this well help you tremendously especially if you're a second division club. This will help you get players on free loans, sometimes you can even get good young players on a free loan. I had a Millwall save too and was able to get Man U as a parent club. I got both Kiko and Bebe and both helped me get promoted. I posted their stats two pages back.Comment
