Nice 4-4-2 box formation, didn't work so well with Blackpool lol. Also lol at Tevez winning FOTY over Ronaldo on the same team, Real must have been real good.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Well my pursuit of Mario Balotelli is over.
After offering Newcastle a deal of $75M plus another $10M in clauses during the winter period and the deal being rejected.
I tried again near the end of the season in April/May, offering $50M up front, they negotiated, and I worked out of deal for $27M up front and $32M over 24 months, Newcastle's board are idiots.
Best thing is I sold Ashley Young for $30M and can now go after Walcott or Pato.Comment

Ouch, group F looks very tough, think you got chance to slide into 2nd spot? most groups look challenging. Good to see 3 out of my 4 countries made it: USA, Colombia, and Scotland. No Austria though.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Team USA just finished it's June09 WCQ games with a 2-0 win over Canada and a 4-1 decisive win over Honduras; both seem confidence builders going into the Confederations Cup. Team USA is 2nd at 12 points in the phase 3 WCQ round, 1 point behind Mexico.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Team USA kicks off confeds cup with 3-1 loss to Brazil, early red card in 1st, turns a 1-1 great game, into just trying to survive in 2nd half. Dejavu? just like real life with freaking red cards. Got Iraq and Egypt in next two matches so their is still hope.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Team USA gets embarrassed by number #1 team in world Spain in Semi-final, 5-1. Played Italy in 3rd place match and lost 5-0. Anyone got any good tatics for a lower team trying to play a top 10 team? Italy game I was mad about spain loss and played all the bench, no better, hahaLast edited by Hunkerdown; 07-04-2009, 11:12 AM.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Team USA 2009 Gold cup results:
Group play:
Haiti 1-1
Honduras 1-0
T & T 3-0
Quarterfinals:
El Salvador 2-0
SemiFinals:
Jamaica 2-0 extra time
Final:
Mexico 0-1
Got red card in 66th minute that did me in, so no defense of Gold Cup, got to concentrate on WCQ now.
Chicago Fire gig, I started off slow but been doing better lately, mid-table currently like 15 games played. I am on 3 game win streak, all 1-0 wins.Comment
