Well my start as Team USA coach started with 2nd phase of WCQ CONCACAF, against Antigua & Barbuda, with a 3-1 win. Young talent Torres stood out in the match with great midfield play and a goal. These 2nd round games are being used to get some Caps for young talent and get the mix I want on the pitch.
Loving the game so far, tried to apply for some professional clubs looking for new coaches, no luck so far.

I'm glad you're loving it. What did you set your previous playing reputation as? If it's low, you're going to have trouble finding a "good" club team to take on an unknown manager. You can usually find a team in the lower leagues in England or in the lower leagues in Brazil or Argentina (that is, if you loaded them).

Followed up with a 2-0 win over Antigua, move on to 2nd phase, group stage: group drawn with Costa Rica, Grenada, and St. Kitts.

Good group draw. Grenada and St. Kitts should be cake walks, while Costa Rica should be a little difficult, especially away from home. You can check by viewing your manager tab (mine is posted below).

In my save, we've guaranteed a place European competition next year (UCL or Europa Cup we don't know yet, although UCL is looking the most likely). We're also heading to Wembley to face ManUtd in the FA Cup final in 3-4 weeks when the season is over, after a thrilling 2-1 result over Arsenal (Rodney Sneijder, brother of Madrid's Wesley, scored the winner in the 80th minute).

You can go on vacation/holiday until your next game and leave the game up in the background while you're doing other things. The speed really only depends on your processor speed, RAM, the database size, and the number of leagues loaded (the more loaded, the slower the game). I love having a lot to choose from, so I have a large database with a bunch of leagues loaded. On my desktop, the game ran really fast, but on my laptop with only 2.26 GHZ, the game runs a lot slower and can be pretty tedious.

If you're going to start an MLS game, use this link. It's truly awesome. It has all of the downloadable stuff you need (MLS facepacks, real media, and, most importantly, the automatic loading of all CONCACAF nations' teams and their players). http://sortitoutsi.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=37546

I don't claim to be any sort of computer expert, but I believe the problem is that you do not have the most up to date DirectX9 update/driver downloaded (this is the "d3dx9_37.dll"). Try downloading it and see if that works. Wasn't there an option when installing the game to install that too? It also could be that your computer doesn't have a DirectX9 compatible graphics card. Go to www.systemrequirementslab.com to see if you can run the game.
