I think he just means in general. And I agree, because I don't want to be spoiled by what any editor says the CA/PA is.

That being said, I have a striker problem, where I have Vela, Ade, Van Persie, and Walcott all at virtually the same ability. There is no room on the wings for Vela or Walcott. Last year Vela and Walcott were content to fill in for injuries/congested fixture periods, but I doubt they'll be too happy with that much longer.

I think I'm going to try rotating them in more frequently.

It's funny, because I have an excess of strikers, but I can't buy a CB to save my life. I have 124 million left in my transfer budget, and I can't get any team to even remotely consider selling any of their top defenders.

I experiencing the same thing, in fact I had to sell one my best CB to get one a better one at a higher price.

That sucks. I really need a CB too. I guess I might just have to keep Gallas and hope someone hands in a transfer request.

Well, I got lucky. I signed Chiellenni and Garay, which means Djourou and Gallas are as good as gone. Both are better than Djourou is projected to be (and Garay is 23), and Gallas, while about equal, is old, so I'm quire pleased with the way I shored up my defense.

First game against Man Utd. in the Community Shield (who else?) has Ronaldo out-dribbling my entire defense and scoring a goal in the second minute. #$%@$@$!

Then Messi does the same thing, but passes across net to hit Ade for a wide-open tap in in the 35th minute. Tie game.

Second half, 69th minute, new sub Vukcevic (because Messi broke his arm and is out for 5 months. @#$%@$!) is given free reign to run down the sideline and send in a perfect cross for Walcott who heads the ball into the net. 2-1 to the Arsenal, and that would be the final score. Better luck next time Man Utd. I have now beaten them 9 times in a row, and Rijkaard, their manager for the last two seasons, now fears his job is on the line. It shouldn't be, because he won the double with them his first year, and then finished second to me in every major competition his second year, but I guess their board is as impatient as the Steinbrenners.

Ha! I just beat United as well 2-0 at Loftus Road, Chris Kirkland was beast in goal, looks like the pregame media session did wonders for his confidence.
Unfortunately I'm just got destroyed by Liverpool. Bendtner is just terrible as well, no goals yet, as I'm approaching January.
Currently in 9th as I reach the midpoint in the season.

Bendtner's a beast for me, but in limited action. But I've got such great wingers (Nasri, Ribery, Messi, Vuckcevic) that he gets great aerial feeds from crosses, and because he's great at heading he scores a lot of goals that way.

Yes, I asked the board for more money got 2 mill, and thanks to city overbuying and some shifting of money, I'm on the verge of signing A.Lennon for slightly over 3 mill.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

I hate how the competition satisfaction ratings stay stuck in the middle for competitions (such as Carling) that the board does not care about. Normally, I wouldn't mind, but that "Ok" satisfaction rating brings down my overall rating. So even though I just won the Community Shield and UEFA Super Cup, because my board did not care about those competitions, their satisfaction did not move up. So I could win the quadruple again, and the satisfaction could not be full, because wins in those two competitions bring the rating down.

In next year's game, if the board does not care about a competition, there should either not be a satisfaction rating, or there should be one, but with a clarification, such as: "The Board is pleased with your victory in the Carling Cup Final, but as they do not care about the competition, they would prefer you not waste any time celebrating and instead focus on future, more important competitions."

Well I just had to spend 52 mill to get ONE CB. Messi price tag was 53, maybe it's just me but that shouldn't be near equal price tags.

No, it shouldn't. CB's are way too expensive in this game.

I was doing great with Reading, 3rd in the Championship, and then boom I lose my two strikers in back to back games for a month each.

Reached the January window with QPR, I'm currently in 4th, overachieving big time, actually dreaming of Champions League football.

Signing of the season has been this Ukrainian forward who I snatched from the Man City, over paid and under used squad. Managed to financed the deal by selling Bendtner,my Ukrainian in half the season has more goals already than Bendtner had all the previous year for me.

Not looking to add to the squad during window, hopefully I'll at least qualify for Europe.

It's funny. Bendtner just scored a hat-trick for me against Watford (newly promoted) and has scored 10 goals in 7 appearances.

My team cannot finish to save its life. I won 3-0 against Watford, but previous to that I had five 1-0 wins and two goalless draws. I'm using the same tactic as I did last year, and I'm dominating possession and scoring chances, but the ball refuses to find the net. Bendtner has been a huge spark off the bench, Walcott has been fantastic filling in for Ribery who just got injured, and and overall the match ratings have been high. So the lack of goals has been inexplicable and frustrating. But as I am tied for second place with Man. City (who has now qualified for CL two seasons in a row and is officially a title contender) and am a point behind Man Utd., I am going to wait things out before making a change.

The way I see, while my offense has been under-performing in the goal department, my defense has been over-performing because for ten straight games I have yet to give up a goal.

Given the amount of offensive chances I have been generating, I think the goals are coming. I can't take too much stock in the 3-0 Watford victory, because Watford has yet to get a win all season and are destined to get relegated unless things quickly improve.

By the way, if anyone wants a cheap, phenominal player who the scouts underrate, look no further than Vukcevic. He has been playing like a 7-star player for me and has been valuable not just off the bench but filling in for injured players, and if Messi and Ribery weren't so good, he would probably be starting.

After leaving Milan a year ago (Check earlier update) I won the EPL with Arsenal in my first season. Wasn't too hard really. My team was really good, and I brought a lot of young talent with me to Arsenal from Milan.

Does anyone else notice that Man Utd does not buy a lot of players? It may be a money thing seeing as they have huge loans to pay off...but they never buy new and great talent. Seems they promote from within and their players aren't up to snuff. They finished 5th this past season.

Just starting in the year 2013. Lost the community shield for the second straight year to penalties...this time against Man City. Didn't buy too much talent this summer. I brought in a young scottish defender who looks very promising to go along with Toure and my young Czech CB who is going to be on of the best CB in the game for years to come.
