Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I hope they do something about managers accepting jobs. IMO, some of the moves that happen make no sense.
IE: In my current save, Blackpool's manager accepted the Sheffield Wednesday job. Blackpool was sitting 2nd in the Champions league and Sheffield Wednesday was 19th in the Premier league. SW was guaranteed to go down when he took the job and Blackpool was a lock for the playoffs, but was sitting pretty well to be guaranteed to move up.
Another good one I've seen is a team sitting say 4th and the manager accepts a job with a team sitting 10th.
Why would a manager accept something like that?'Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that.'-Bill ShanklyComment

I'm buying it anyways, but that is literally the one and only thing on my wishlist. I have faith in the rest of the changes they are making.badComment

The only improvement I care about seeing (could not care any less if they touched the match engine if they did this) is making the youth progress properly. As of now, reserve / youth games aren't counted as competitive really and those stuck on the U-18/Reserve teams will see no progression in their attributes which means that 5-10 years into the game the computer controlled teams will all be playing at a HUGE disadvantage.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
So I've tried to win every trophy rather than just concentrate on League success with Portadown. I've lost 1 final on penalties and the other 1-0. And the league is looking like it will come down to the last game too. Think I might just try win the league next year!Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
The players that don't play in actual first team games don't develop at all. In every long term game I've played (save for the one where I replaced the reserve/youth leagues with the mod made to fix it) it became way too easy, as every team was so stagnant it embarassing.badComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
So there's a mod that fixes the progression? Can it be applied to current saves?
Kind of a bummer to know that long term saves deteriorate. I was planning on sticking with this Tottenham one until I win the league, although I'm not too far off.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
If you're playing in a top league it isn't all that bad if you ask me. The best regens get playing time, progress, and find their way to the top teams.Comment

My graphics usually came from SUSIE ( http://www.sortitoutsi.net/ ) but after my reinstall, I got the kitpacks and stuff from Bret this time around.
Yeah, gopher. The top leagues aren't too bad if you play in them, I just find that it's quite a bit easier to rise to the top and stay there in the long run. There was a mod released that took a bunch of different countries and changed their reserve/youth system teams into actual leagues instead of how the game handles it, to get them "competitive experience."badComment

My contract with Inter was up so I decided to walk away at the end of the season. Ended my Inter career on a high note:
I also won the Treble by winning the Coppa Italia and the Champions League.
I also took control of the Dutch in 2015, I qualified for the 2018 World Cup. My draw:
Just for fun the Liverpool job was up for grabs. I declared my interest and they were flattered. I lost the job to *drum rolls*

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
The 2014/2015 season is over and for the second consecutive year it came down to the last game of the season! Myself, Glenavon and Linfield were all on 69 going into the last game and I beat Glentoran away to win the title on goal difference. Glenavon beat Linfield on the last day... again!
In the other domestic cups I lost the Mid-Ulster Cup Final, the League Cup Final and the All-Ireland Cup Final. I however didn't lose the Irish Cup Final, instead going out in the Semis.
Europe was pretty fun this year. After exiting the Champions League at the Champions Playoff stage, we entered a Europa League group consisting of Athletic Bilbao, Fenerbahce and Genk. We didn't gain a single point from any of these games, but we definitely competed. The only game that I felt was too much was a 3-0 defeat at Athletic Bilbao. 3 times we lost by a single goal, including a 4-3 defeat at Fenerbahce. Certainly entertaining!
We've got a pretty interesting summer coming up. I've let contracts run out so at the moment, we have a 18 man squad but most players can cover 2 or 3 positions. Due to our European run, we've got nearly £5m on the bank, with some of that going on improved youth and training facilities and an expansion to our stadium. Whilst the expansion is going on (we're going from 2227 to 3340 seats), we're playing at another stadium at the end of April. If that happened this year, we would have had 1 actual home game. So a year on the road for me!Comment

I hate this. I started a Fulham/USMNT save and 5 of my first 7 fixtures in the league were Liverpool, United, City, Chelsea, Arsenal. And I lost all of them.
Then I beat Sc-unthorpe (OS censored the word **** in it) in the League Cup only to draw City in the next round, who murdered me.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn
