Oh I am very skeptical going into the next season. Only got about 3 mill for transfers. But I have brought in Popov, Ospina, Andy Carroll(I know I know),picked up Doujrou and Darren Fletcher on loans, and sent Keiren Westwood away.

Eh Andy Carroll is a nice pick up. I played extreme long ball in a Stoke save with Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch up top. Got to a Europa League spot and than got sacked the next year.Comment

Also didn't help that I had a rash of injuries to start the season and then Landon picked up a 3-match suspension after a horror tackle.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I've been controlling the Sounders for 8.5 years in MLS and while it can be frustrating, I use my DP slots for key guys and replenish my good, young players the following ways:
1) After the draft, trade a bunch of draft picks, young players I don't want (2.5 star and lower) and old players who won't play much for a top 5 pick that I like.
2) Colombia and Costa Rica have been key for me in getting good, young players for cheap (transfer fee under a few hundred k)
Right now I've got a 6'9" Colombian striker and 3 other players who get regular time on their national team. I also have Costa Rica's GK and CB, and I've let their other CB and CM go. I got $13m for the CM. I signed him for $1k from Saprissa.
I also have managed to use my youth system and the draft to also have 3 out of the 4 backline players for the future USMNT and I also have the starting LM and a backup CM.
I often can't keep them all, but I just keep a spreadsheet that lets me cycle through all the players.
Making Champions league (I've won it twice) and winning the MLS Cup (won it 4 straight years) keeps the allocation money flowing in, allowing me to increase my cap. Big transfers also help get some allocation money.?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.

Early February and I am top of the taple. Gibbs blew his knee out, so I signed Davide Santon from Newcastle for 34 million US. Fabianski wanted out so I gave him a free and signed Weidenfeller who wanted out of Dortmund for 1.6 as a backup.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Is there any way to judge a potential transfer against your current players at that position? Also, is there a one-stop shop that will show me where I need help? I feel like I'm wasting time when I go through every player's page looking at specific ratings for specific attributes.
Any help would be appreciated.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
So we've managed to retain the title in dramatic fashion. Due to re-arranged games, Linfield finished their season after us. We were on 84 points with +53 goal difference, with Linfield on 83 points with +52. So we needed Linfield to avoid beating Glenavon, who happen to be our local rivals. This happened:
I watched this game, and I don't think I've celebrated a goal as much as that! It left the table looking like this:
As much as I'm happy I won the league again, I should have won a lot earlier. Stumbling over the line would be an understatement. We took 66 points from the first 75 (25 games), then came February and we took 15 from 36 (13 games). We did manage a bit of success in the Mid Ulster Cup with a second string side. We also lost in the Irish Cup Final against Glenavon, weirdly after they beat Linfield to give us the title. I didn't intentionally lose but I wasn't as upset!
We've got three players coming in at the start of the transfer window, 2 from Linfield (a midfielder and a striker) and 1 from Coleraine (a midfielder). We've still got no players coming in from the youth team which I'm pretty disappointed about. It's alright at the moment, but we need consistent European runs like this season in order to bring in money.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I've had to take a step away from this game because I got so pissed at it, lol.
I was in 2nd place, only a point behind Arsenal, heading into January. I decided to change my season expectations to "Title Challenge" so the board would give me more money to go get a RB, the only real weakness on the team. I found 2 suitable guys to buy. One of them wasn't being sold, so I went after the other one. Bid $39 mil, Man City matched it and he chose Man City over me. Can't even remember the dude's name. So now I raised the expectations and I can't even find a guy to spend that money on.
While this was going on I lost to Newcastle, then lost to Man City right after they stole the RB from me. Now I have Arsenal up next, and I'm not confident about it. Even after those two losses, I'm still holding onto 3rd, but a title challenge is going to be tough now, especially if I lose to Arsenal.

If anyone wants updated rosters, it seems like a decent roster set right now. http://sortitoutsi.net/forums/topic/...e-packs-by_pr0Comment

You came back after 10 mins right? No way, you stay away from this game for a long time.

Woo! Clutch win. First ever against Arsenal; they've had my number over the last 3 years.
And with that my mini-panic is over. Light at the end of the tunnel after losing out on a transfer and 2 bad losses, haha
