What's more frustrating is that any English players that you want to buy are massively over valued. Even then, the wages that some of the very average players are on are ridiculous.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Well my time at Shrewsbury Town FC has come to an end. Fulham fired their coach and approached me for the job. Obviously a bigger club with deeper pockets. They offered me 42K a week vs my current $2900 week. The goal is promotion to the Premier League.
In 3 years I took STFC from League 2 to the nPower, and in the short time there, we were;
14 Games 3W 3D 8L 17G 24GA -7GD 12PTS 21st place.'Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that.'-Bill ShanklyComment

2-0 at the half is a death curse for me. Using Granada and was in a nice little winning streak at the top half of the table. Went up 2-0 against Betis at the half, they use that comeback code and come back. Enjoying this save though. The entire team was pretty much Udinese reserves/youngsters and I absolutely hate getting players on loan so I rebuilt team myself basically. I got Laurent Courtois from Chivas USA who is always a great buy for me no matter what team I'm using and a few free transfers like Hernan Crespo and Cristiano Zanetti to help out. Got Simon Davies on loan as well. Recommend Courtois if you're projected for relegation in a top league or in a second division looking for promotion.Comment

2 games to go in the season. With a result at 20th place Norwich, I qualify for Arsene's trophy. If it wasnt for my abysmal first half, I would be in title contention.
Board gave me a new 4 year deal at 140k/week.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I didn't see us being able to compete, as we had no cash. It was tough to leave just because of the way the team developed and was playing. Except for 4 games, we were competitive. The bigger clubs ran us off the pitch.
So far, I see Fulham, as not very good. My CF's are old and slow, and the team has been inconsistent to say the least. Guys that want to leave have changed their mind, since I took over, but as of now I don't see us getting into the playoffs of the nPower. The transfer window coming up, January, will be interesting.'Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. Finished 4th in 1st season. Signed a bunch of youth from Germany.
13/14 is going rough. 1 win from 4 so far. Qualified for the group stage in the CL.
How can I get Jovetic going. Has been underperforming ever sinced I signed him.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Finally going to start a new game, had a nice little break from FM. I was considering the big clubs but I didn't feel any real connection so I decided to go back to one of the games I normally do on each FM - Portadown in Northern Ireland. My grandfather was born there so I've always had an eye on their results.
Bit of background for those who aren't aware of Northern Irish football. The majority of time, either Linfield (who have 51 titles) or Glentoran (23 titles) top the table. The 2012-13 season surprisingly saw neither of these two finish in the top 2 which is the first time since the 96-97 season.
Bit of a task but I've had lots of success with Portadown before so hopefully I'll be able to replicate that. We're also in Europe as Portadown finished 2nd in the 11-12 season which puts us in the Europa League.
And away I go...Comment

I play Jovetic as AF, not DLP. Sometimes playing him as a AMF helps.NFL: New York Giants
MLB: Oakland A's
NBA: New York Knicks
EPL: Arsenal
NHL: Detroit Red Wings

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Well, my reign at Fulham was short and inglorious. Hired on 10/17/2016 and fired on 12/7/2016.
How the board thought the team I inherited was good enough to win promotion is beyond me.
My final game was against Spurs in the COC, which we lost 3-2 in ET.
About a week later QPR approached me, so I made it to the EPL without Fulham!
My first game is against Sunderland and we are sitting 17th. So of course the goal is to avoid relegation.

Coming up on World Cup 2018 with the USMNT. Update since the last World Cup.
2015 - Won Gold Cup. Epic 4-3 win over Mexico in the semis in extra time.
2016 - Won Copa America. Was in a group with Chile, Ecuador, and Paraguay. After losing our opening match 0-1 to Chile, we beat Ecuador 2-1 and Paraguay 1-0. The giants then got knocked out nicely for us as we beat Peru 1-0, Chile 2-1, and Colombia 2-1 in that order for the win.
2017 - Finished 3rd in the Confederations Cup, beating Colombia in the 3rd place match. Spain destroyed us 4-0 in the semis. Gold Cup was a B squad that lost in the quarterfinals to Jamaica. Disappointing, but not all that surprising. Finished 2nd in the Hex.
2018 World Cup group draw: Spain, Germany, Ghana
Especially since THIS group actually exists... Ivory Coast, Finland, New Zealand, Canada.Comment
