Figured I'd drop in, I'll be going back to FM14 within the next couple days, I'll be going back to my "real save" with Sheffield United and just figuring things out.

While I'm here though I just ordered a custom mousepad for my desktop, and I figure since they're only a buck, why not share? I did one with a logo of each of my favorite squads (Arsenal, Dortmund, Colorado Rapids, Viborg) and it turned out pretty cool, here's the instructions:

      Go here: http://www.artscow.com/photo-gifts/m...e-mousepad-160
      Sign up(it's super simple)
      Create your custom mousepad graphic
      Use Coupon Code: Z099PLAYRKNYU
      Don't hire David Moyes
      ?????
      Profit

I'm absolutely in love with the manager feuds in FM, and I feel like I would actually miss the new interview questions regarding those if I went back to 13.
CH2k8 has been calling my name as well.. I think i quit playing FM because of how much it's snowed here. I'll be getting back into it in a month or so... I have some interesting saves i need to work on

How do you guys set-up your training schedule for your players, especially promising youths (3+ star potential)?

I usually choose individual role training for 1-2 months then change it up with specific attribute training for 1-2 months throughout the season. I'm not sure if I'm getting the best out of my players that way though and I'd hate it if my current youths who have 5-star potential don't reach that level because of the way I train them.

I had no idea so many other people play Football Manager. Been playing this game for four years now and I absolutely love it. Though I have never tried the online mode and I enjoy sticking to the MLS league in single player.

After sitting down and completely re-evaluating my team, and my tactics, we've been doing much better lately. I've accidentally managed to win the Capital One Cup and qualify for Europe while in League One, I didn't have to beat a single Premier League side to achieve this either. Since then, I made a few signings to shore up the new tactics(and to have two full squads so I can survive this rigorous schedule of Europe, Capital One Cup, FA Cup and the Championship. My link up with Manchester United made this very possible as I have three of their U21 players on season-long loan. Approaching the January window, and while we've done well, I need to trim some wages, so a few of my six-deep midfielders are going to be shown the door, and I'm going to recall a few lads from loan to replace them.

I won't lie, it took every ounce I had to do it, since then, I've found more enjoyment of the game. This year, it's really about getting your players into the right roles, then putting those roles the right place on the pitch, then making sure it's a good formation. I absolutely had to create my tactic from the bottom up, instead of top down like I normally do.

There are a few issues. Most of them have to do with really stupid attacking players. Something in the final third just isn't right with the engine.

In my opinion, of course. I'm sure many are having a lot of fun with it. I'm sure some day I'll come back to it. But the motiviation to craft tactics in such a complex manner just isn't there when I feel like the players will do the same stupid things no matter what I tell them. It's a shame too, because it's the first time I feel like they got the defense completely right. The blocked shots and tackling are more realistic to me.
