Never felt the urge to upgrade to 14. I still have a blast with 13 and with the complaints about the match engine in 14...i think I'll just wait for 15.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I would take everything I say with a grain of salt, it is a new game, and it could be that I just haven't picked up on tactics as quickly as I normally do, or that I have some people in sub-optimal positions, or I'm just bad at the game right now. That's why I'm still experimenting, though I do believe this game has it out for me, lol.
And I cannot stress enough, that I'm thoroughly enjoying everything outside of the matches.Support Local Sports

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I just dont use the match engine, I prefer the thing with the little dots roaming around. Seems like I get more realistic results and I still see what's going on for the most part. I believe that, with the match engine, results are pre determined and it just throws random highlights at you. I have a great time with the game without the match engine

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
sigh, i don't know what to do, from SZCZ, to Casillas, to Valdes, and now Butland, my GKs have allowed 74 straight penalty scores. Not a single save...Support Local Sports

Hilarious...I finally save one and the ball rebounds up perfectly so the taker can leap and absolutely smash a volley just underneath the bar before anyone else could move.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Decided to have a little fun with the editor and moved Xolos from Tijuana to Phoenix, added Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey to the roster for an even more American flair and am gonna compete in the Liga MX. Game is getting a little bit stale so I thought I'd spice it up and learn a little about out neighbors down south in the process.Comment

Finished my 1st season with Pompey in L2.
2nd with a record of 23-16-7
82 goals for and 54 against for a +28 GD and 85pts.
The club offered me a new 2 year deal.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
So I added some ram to my old *** cpu and tried the 14 demo and well success was had.
But for some reason I decided to go back to FM 11 and spend some time with my 27 season save, and of course a 36 year old FM legend. He scored some goals(and hello new contract) and we won some trophies.
anyways here's how the 2037-38 season ended.
And yes it's a World Cup year. In the USAComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Nostalgia is still in the air then!
Due to my failure at FM14 I've gone back to it, purely cos that was the FM that I was best at! I've downloaded an English league structure down to Level 11 and taken over Leeds City. I'm trying to think of a different way to play FM, such as only using players from your own youth system or only English. Any ideas?Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
In an interesting predicament right now in my career. Played a season and a half starting out in Liga MX with Tijuana and left to take over Ipswich Town who was in the Championship. Was able to get them promoted and stayed up my first season. Now I've gotten an offer from Roma who is struggling and Olympique Marseille who is hanging around the CL spot. I could just stay at Ipswich as well. Hmmmmm, tough call.Comment

Wow, that is some awful luck. Lloris has been pretty successful saving penalties for me.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
So, about a quarter of the way through season 2 with Spurs. Got a very good draw with our Champions League draw: In a group with Benfica, Montpellier, and Anderlecht.
After selling a couple players during the summer, I kinda went all in and signed Ross Barkley from Everton. Love my midfield now; wingers are Lennon, Chadli, Lamela, and Townsend. CMs are Eriksen, Barkley, Paulinho, Sandro, Dembele, and Holtby.
I have been ravaged by injuries so far this season. Thankfully, only one is serious, I lost Barkley for 3 months. But over the past few weeks all of the following have been injured: Soldado, Adebayor, Eriksen, Barkley, Dembele, Dawson, Walker, and Holtby.
Even with all the injuries, I am sitting in 4th place through ten games. Top of the table? West Brom. 9-0-1University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
As anyone who is a friend on Steam can see, I've closed down FM14 for the time being. Hopefully a week or two of CH2k8 on my 360 will allow me to put fresh eyes on FM14 and I can figure out what I'm doing wrong that's making this game not enjoyable for me. I'm absolutely in love with the manager feuds in FM, and I feel like I would actually miss the new interview questions regarding those if I went back to 13.Support Local Sports
