Just lost to Fulham in the quarters.
I guess it is all part of the learning process, still, that is such a dishartening result.Comment

Hey man, don't sweat it - I've struggled too. I'd go to the official forums for the game. The info can be overwhelming, but there' a tactics/training forum as well as a good team/players forum that has team specific forums. That's where I did lots of learning and downloaded tactics fromComment

This is only for those who like to read...
I'm posting this from my blackberry, so I don't have hyperlinks for these two publications, so just search for them in the great google machine. Firstly, if you're interested in only succeeding at FM/WWSM, I would highly recommend Tactical Theorems and Frameworks (I believe that's the name of it). Although its around 50 pages, I don't know how you could succeed without it without previous experience with the FM series (I read it during a really boring class one day and, sadly, have never had a more productive class). If you're interested in something pertaining more to general soccer knowledge, try "Inverting the Pyrmaid".It goes for 350 pages or so, but is completely worth it. It is the best sports book I've ever read (I'm a sports writer, so that means something because I read a lot of sports publications). From that book, I now know more about Polish soccer than I ever could dream of knowing. Hope this helps...YNWA

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
That PDF was a very good read! I'm gonna have to start messing around with tactics now...
EDIT: I have no idea how to use the other items that came with the package, though. Anyone know? There is an Excel file and a lot of .tac files.Last edited by Whitesox; 08-19-2009, 12:26 PM.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
The .tac files are game files that you can access in-game. They might be actual tactics
Save them on a drive and when you play the game. Go to your tactics and import them. Find the .tac files in the drive and voila - you now have them in the game
Speaking of tactics, I am using the sexy football tactic I got off the official forums. It's a very nice tactic for scoring tons and short passes. It is reliant on you having good passing midfielders and strikers with pace.Comment

Uefa Cup draw for my new team, Toulouse FC in in France...
This is my second season with them. I finished 5th place my first season after we were projected to possibly get relegated! Qualified for Uefa Cup and beat FK Zeta to get into the group stage. This team has some serious talent! I'm trying to hold onto my good players, as bigger clubs like Milan, Lyon and PSG are trying to take my best players.Comment
