Where do you guys buy your Football Manager 2010 from? I've asked my local ebgames and they wont be ordering it in. Are you guys doing an online purchase download for it?

If/when I get it, I'm going to get it from Steam. Even if you buy your CD copy, it won't install the CD, but instead just download the game onto Steam using the verification code on your CD's jewel case. The days of video games releasing on CDs/DVDs are fading very quickly.

Amazon is actually carrying FM2010 this year. I checked their site and it's shipping on Nov 3. This is the first year I have seen so far that they are shipping FM and WWSM. I got my copy off Steam though so I can play it straight away on Friday.

Thanks guys. This has been the first game i've playied on the PC so I was just wondering. If I download it from stream, on friday will they just send me the code for it?

It will automatically download in the Steam console. They will give you a product key, but you won't need it to install if you purchase the product through steam.

FM10 to be released in about an hour on Steam. I already pre-loaded it and I'm ready to go once the clock strikes midnight in the UK.

Downloading now. After much delegation (or about 30 seconds worth while taking a piss), I've decided on managing Stuttgart in my first save. Albeit they may be too good and thus I'll quit soon after I start, I love them in FIFA10 and would love to have them transfer over to a fun FM10 save. Let's do this ****!

Here goes nothing. I'm running a huge custom database (~115,000 players) on my pretty decent laptop. If this runs decently enough, then I'll be in heaven!

Which DB size did you select? Did you retain players from certian countries?

I selected a large custom database with every current international from every continent and every top division player from every continent. It's running incredibly smoothly at the moment to be honest. Couldn't ask for more!

I've been told this years is much smoother and a quicker game overall.

So did you select to retain all players from certain countries, or did you select to retain all players from top divisions in certain countries? This is a new feature this year so I'm trying to figure out how to do it properly.

Any match feedback as of yet? also did you guys already get all graphics and such form 3rd party site. Everyone is saying you can use 2009 stuff for 2010.

I used the "retain top division players from continent x" option for each continent and then the "retain international players from continent x" option for each continent; I didn't check off each country individually.

I'm using all of my stuff from FM09...it works perfectly fine. I've gotten through 2 preseason games with Stuttgart. My first was a 4-0 victory over Stuttgart II and I just won 2-1 over FC Eindhoven thanks to a late winner from Julien Schieber. I've only made one signing thus far, with that being Jonathan Pitroipa from HSV. The game's looking amazing, but I need more time to digest the new version.
