Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Having the team accomplished in the formations I wanna use in preseason is nice. Won 3-0 against Stevenage.
I kept Arsene on as the Director of Football. We'll see how that goes. I have a lot of money in the bank. I will only sign top-top quality Frenchmen.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Welcome! I found the best way to learn was to just throw myself in and mess up. I was fired from my first 3 jobs in the first season. So don't feel discouraged if you don't start off as a great manager. It can be tough to find good tactics that match your players, even for experienced players of the game. And you have a lot more to manage when coming from FIFA. So it will feel overwhelming at first. For that I let my assistants do most things when I first started. And slowly weened myself into everything. If you go to Staff > Responsibilities, you can set others to do certain things.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Every time I try to start an MLS save, I lose interest quickly because of all the damn roster rules of MLS. Just let me build my team the way I want to.
Lost all my stuff after my old PC bit the bullet. Maybe I'll start up another Rangers save. Or maybe I'll resurrect Leeds or Newcastle.
Or maybe I'll just play a save as Barca or ManU and rule the world. Its funny, I pattern my tactics around Pep's system at Barcelona, but I've never played as Barcelona.
Also realized you can't put any faith into the recommended league setup. I have a PC that just blows the doors off my old one, yet FM still recommended a six country setup like it did on my old PC. Hell with that lol.Last edited by jasontoddwhitt; 03-27-2016, 02:12 PM.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
wow, this team is in rough shape, I'm 0-0-3 to start out and dropped into the relegation zone, this may be a very short Recreativo career.Support Local Sports

I found watching lets-play videos of FM on YouTube was quite helpful, though I'm still a newbie at this game.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
So I go in to Recre, try a new approach, being nice to players, giving players a chance, and not being cagey with media. I lose each one of my first 6 matches, so I blow up, start yelling at players, storm out of two press conferences, hold a team meeting to tell everyone they're ****, and sign a few Free Agents and rotate in the loanees I brought in during the January window(Dani Almo from Man Utd, Angellino from Man City, Carlos Blanco from Juventus, and Ander Bardaji from Real Sociedad) Team draws with the first-place team in Group 4, and now we've escaped the drop zone by winning the last three matches.
What did I learn? Never change your approach...Support Local Sports
