For some reason, I just have it in my mind that I really want to use a counter-press tactic. And I can just NEVER get it to work.

My go-to is a possession, faux tiki-taka, tactic that has (in some variation) always worked for me. Tough to implement when you take over a **** team, though. Haha

Asymmetrical systems are really fun when they work, but its hard to stick with one when you lose a few in a row. I've lots of success with them in this years game though.

My youth set-up is filled with prospects, I'm selling youth prospects at nice profits, churning out the 24-28 year old burnouts into money, helping players aged 33-36 retire with silverware and this season has been monstrous. My 7th year at Viborg, We've won the title with NINE games remaining in the league. Probably a quiet exit in the Champions League Quarters after narrowly beating Sporting CP in the first knockout round.

This might also be the most talented team I've ever put together, in terms of fit to system and quality backups.

Next to last match of the season with Forest...probably the most unreal game I've seen since I've started playing. I was 12th and Bristol City was 2nd going into the match. 5 unanswered goals and an 11 minute hat trick for Brereton, the last two within a minute of each other, in a match that would've guaranteed promotion for Bristol had they won.

I did a save with Skeid, I had fun with it before the save randomly disappeared. Sucks too because I had them promoted to the 2nd tier in my first year.

One of my absolute favorite things about the transfer windows in this game is when a team comes at me with a non-negotiable offer, below a players value, whom isn't transfer-listed, or even complaining about time. Maybe had you left room to negotiate we could've worked something out based on your interest, as it stands... lol

Along a similar vein, one of the things I hate with this game is when an agent comes at you when you're trying to sign a player, and they do the whole "we're not going to reveal our demands until you make an offer", you offer something, and they get all insulted, and basically come back with a non-negotiable offer.

I wish there was a "Hey, here's this, it's very much negotiable. This is just a starting point" option.

Not getting to the knockout stages of CL the past two seasons has really hurt the bank at Amiens. Sold Forsberg to Bournemouth because he was complaining about playing time. Bought a young Colombian striker for 190k. Nacho breaks his leg in the third game of the season, I’m playing Tula out of position as a striker, my second XI is untested, and we are off to our worse start in my Amiens tenure.

But we may escape our group of Inter, Barcelona, and Besiktas, so there’s that.

Just trying to hold on till January and hopefully bring in a couple reinforcements.

I'm using spoilers so this post doesn't eat up a ton of space with images. Also apparently my German name fix didn't apply when I started this save, so that's kind of annoying. I took over Hertha at the halfway point in their season:
                          Spoiler

I take over a team sitting at the bottom of the table, only 1 win in 17 games. Board wants me to avoid automatic relegation, so I can finish in the relegation playoff spot(16th) and be OK. Tough ask, though.
                          Spoiler

The schedule up front was rough, but I managed miracle wins against top of the table(and eventual champs) Leverkeusen and then Bayern to secure much needed points. 3 consecutive draws set us back a little, as the teams around us won and pushed Hertha back into 17th place with 1 match to go. The Wolfsburg loss did not help.
                          Spoiler

Going into the final match day, we were on 28 points, behind 16th place Bremen and 15th place Ingolstadt, who were both on 30 points. I needed a win. A draw from both in their respective matches would see me in 15th, as I had superior GD. If they both won, it wouldn't matter and I'd go down. A dramatic final day was set.
I kept one eye on the league table the entire match, it was so nervy. I was confident in my tactics, but the players were so inconsistent, I wasn't sure how it'd all work out. Here is how the final match went:
                          Spoiler

The ideal way to finish the season, absolutely smashed Mainz. Now it all came down to the other matches. The final table:
                          Spoiler

Success! A thrilling final match day, as Ingolstadt and Bremen both bungled their matches. Their heartbreak is our jubilation. I don't even have to deal with the relegation playoff, we are 100% staying up! I can't believe it. 23 points from 17 matches to secure another season in the Bundesliga.

Since the Arsenal board gave me 250 million to spend, I'd figure I'd post who went out and who signed da ting:

Out: Jack Wilshere, Per Mertersacker (my new Head of Youth Development), Santi Cazorla, and a bunch of crap youth

In: Jordan Pickford, GK: Most expensive Englishman in history as it cost me about 80 million US.

Rodrigo Caio, CB: Normally I shy away from South Americans as there are always work permit issues, but he had 4 caps so it was a little easier to make happen

Lucas, CB: Athletico gave him a 47 million release clause, so that was pretty easy to take care of. Him and Caio are 22 and 23, so they will be my CB partnership for the time being.

Rodi, CDM. Came from Villareal at a very reasonable price, with him and Elneny I actually have proper CDM depth for the time being.

The 5 signings cost me around 173 million plus addons, and I still have 87 million left in the bank.

I'm still looking for RB depth behind Bellerin. I have Carl Jenkinson who came back from loan, but I might need to upgrade in that department.

Bayern had a bit of a drop off. Mark Hughes was their manager this season. The underwhelming 4th place finish resulted in his sacking.

Leverkusen won the CL a couple seasons ago and are now starting to take over Bayern in Germany. Jardim is their manager and they've got a really good, young team. They are by far the team to beat right now and I think it could go on for years to come unless their stars get poached by PL clubs or something.

That fixture list was tough to start, but it worked out. Not having to play any of the heavy hitters in the final stretch to save the season helped.
