Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Here are the two newest arrivals to Craven Cottage. With Lewandowski leaving for Portsmouth for $10.25 million with 30% of the profit from the next sale, I decided to move Henri Saviet from an out-and-out RM/LM to a ST and RM/LM (when Henrique and Vagner Love are playing together that is). So, I had room in the midfield. da Santos was for $21 million and I signed Tymoschuk on a free. Santos will most likely start over the unsettled (and probably soon to be ex-Cottager) Michael Bradley, while Tymoschuk will fill in at whatever position I want him to fill in in, as he seems to be pretty adept at playing anywhere on the field.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Vermaelen is beast. I had a transfer deal set for him last summer, but he accepted a contract from Spurs over lowly Fulham (too bad The Cottagers won the Prem without you!). So, I used my scouts in Brazil (get scouts in Brazil if you don't have any, as they produce far and away the best players) to find a CB to fill in for Hangeland and Leandro Gioda (Argentinian CB who is quite good) and found this guy. Please check him out if you haven't done so. He's well worth the $15m I spent for him. His pace/acceleration for someone who can hold his own in the air is unheard of for such a reasonable price. I cannot preach young, cheap, Brazilian talent enough, especially for GKs and CBs where the prices for European players is absurd if you don't catch them early in their careers. Work Permits and Home Grown status (which I just realized will screw over my team now that I'm finally in the UCL) are a different story however.

From Vitoria? I took a look at him I think when I was looking for a CM at the beginning of my save. I picked Rafael Carioca instead and have never looked back.YNWA

He guys..sorry about the dumb question. Where can I switch to windowed mode? It gets annoying having to press the windows button and quickly click firefox to check this thread or others.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Windowed mode makes life a hell of a lot easier. You can also click some combination of keys in Steam to open an overlay over the game in full screened mode so you can talk to your Steam friends and use the Steam internet browser.YNWA

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Well ended up with a 0-0 draw against Costa Rica, with battered team, maybe because in heart of MLS season as well, and most of the players are playing full season also. Let's see: Altidore, Donovan, Razov, Tabe, Olsen, Rolfe, Wells, Adu, Ching. Now thats a list, injury ranging from least, 2 weeks, and longest 4 months. Luckily next match isnt until October, so maybe get a few players back? Top of table at 7 points currently.Comment

Which update do you guys have? There is a known injury bug in 9.1 that was remedied in the most recent two patches (9.2 and 9.3).YNWA

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Bad physios and too hard of a training schedule maybe? I don' know what to tell you. Try hiring a "20 physiotherapy" as your physio (there are about 100 "20s" in my game). Maybe that will help prevent injuries, but will surely limit the severity/length of the injury.YNWA

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
We've hit the winter break:
Made it out of the UEFA Cup group stage:
Drew Villarreal in the next round, and København or Porto if I make it even further.
Also have Xamax in the quarterfinals of the Swisscom Cup.
As far as transfers, I have a star AML/ST that will surely be leaving. Which is fine with me as I've changed my formation to a 4-2-2-2 and no longer need wingers.Comment
