Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
I don't know how many times Fabregas needs to keep saying this himself. Yes, he may eventually go to Barcelona, but he's said over and over again that he's happy at Arsenal.
All this is going to do is get him ticked off at Barcelona for constantly making him deny their statements that he has "Barcelona DNA."
They'd be smarter to lay off.Comment

Hopefully since this is my 5,000th post this will make my prediction come true.
Arsenal wins this leg 4-3 on aggregate!"The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."

I think we need to win the 1st leg by a minimum of 2 goals to have any chance of advancing. Our defense is not rock solid and we will need to have a good game out of our boys
Looking forward to the match todayComment

Early reports are stating that Fabregas will start after passing a fitness test this morning.
I'm so excited. Can you imagine if Fabregas scores and kisses the badge? Wow. Fingers crossed.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
What a game. I thought for sure we were out of it when we went down 2-0, but Barca couldn't handle Walcott.
I'm not too optimistic with Cesc out for the Camp Nou leg, but you never know.
Should Walcott start in the second leg, or be used as instant pace off the bench, like he was today?
With Cesc out, and Nasri likely switching over the middle, you'll either have Rosicky, Eboue, or Walcott filling in, and if it were me I'd start with Rosicky. If you get a lead and need more defense, Eboue comes in. If you need offense late in the game, enter Walcott.Comment

I'm naming my son Cesc, it's already predetermined. Dude is all ****ing heart, I love it.
I'm not too optimistic about the 2nd leg, but tonight's performance was just ****ing great to see. Come back from 2-0 down to the defending CL winners and tie it up.
Song doesn't miss the 2nd leg, right? I'd like to see him and Denilson in the middle, Rosicky and Nasri out wide, and Walcott alone up top with Diaby behind him. I think his pace could totally **** up Marquez and Milito. Rosicky, Nasri, and Denilson could just play killer balls in to him all game.Last edited by Acid; 03-31-2010, 11:15 PM.Blind to this impending fate

While Cesc obviously went on to be injured, possibly for the rest of the season, I still think the yellow card for his tackle was an atrocious call.
It was a beautiful tackle, and really embodied just how physical we were willing to be all game.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
what price was paid for a draw?
csec was injured late, but clearly was not in top condition. he has heart, but this ****ed wenger caring too much about the champions league? or making a statement? as opposed to being smart and stepping in... and of course csec wants to play... he is a champion
then gallas out - probably for the season.
i am not overly concered about the Camp Nou tie, one game anything can happen.
but serious damage to EPL hopes, if we had any left.
does anyone get injured as much as the gooners?
5 years and no silverware is too long. not saying splash the cash, but something is not working.Comment

Cesc has a cracked bone in his right fibula and out for 6 weeks...essentially the rest of the season
I'm gutted, but man, was he ever awesome this season. I hope he can at least play in the World Cup, but that's also in serious doubtComment

While he can obviously not completely step in for him, if we had Ramsey, I think he would really really help fill a void in midfield.
However, now with Cesc, Ramsey and Gallas being out for the season, as well as RVP returning far too late, I don't think silverware is on the horizon for us.

Not only that, but Arshavin is out for 3-4 weeks.

All teams go through injuries, but not at the rate we do."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."
