My mistake. I thought you were talking about a formation change from a defensive perspective.

I think the problem we have had with not scoring from outside the box is solely a philosophical problem and doesn't have anything to do with the actual formation itself. We have had the same mentality when it comes to trying to pass it into the net for years now. I don't think any kind of formation change is going to solve that problem.

I personally think going back to the 4-4-2 would be a bad move with the personnel we currently have. If we could get some wingers that actually tracked back it could work. Also, what are we going to do with Wilshere? I don't think you put him on the flanks and I don't feel comfortable at all with central midfield combo of him and Cesc in a two man midfield. You need two defensive minded midfielders in 4-4-2 which we currently don't have.

If we were to change formations, I would want to go with a 4-2-3-1.

You're right on in terms of wing play...we can only change back if get crossing and better movement of the ball out wide. That would take a refocusing of resources (when the top need is defense), so it may be too costly to try to change shape.

And I hope you're right that Cesc is still around for this coming season. There will be the same brouhaha as last year about Barcelona, but now Arsenal may ask more than they want to spend on him.

I have no idea if Cesc is staying or going. I was just using the current players we have as that is all you can really go by.

Denilson will be leaving in the Summer.

"This has been the worst season of my life, and I am so upset," he said. "I am a winner and I came here to win trophies but I've been here for five years and won nothing. Until Arsenal stop throwing away silly points in stupid games nothing will change."

You sure didn't help too much, you ****ing prick. I'm very glad to see his lazy *** go.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Never liked him as a player and after the Cesc comments I lost all respect for him as an individual. Very hypocritical comments knowing the fact that he was responsible for some of those silly points we threw away.

I think he would be alright at a mid table club in Italy or Spain. But that will be the last time you will see him on a top side in Europe.

You all must be gutted at his decision.

I have no idea how our midfield will stay intact. We've become so accustomed to him not tracking back, passing the ball away and generally sucking that nobody can match the effort he put out.

Wait, maybe someone can surpass it.

Selling him would've been great alone, but to hear him want to leave makes it better. I'd honestly rather have Squillaci over him. At least he tries.

Yes. He could be Joey Barton. You know, the greatest English midfielder.

                      Whoa, let's slow down there.

Denilson had flashes of brilliance (like his 94/94 passing game against West Ham last season) when he played but his attitude was atrocious, I'm glad he's leaving.

No, really, haha. I'll take working hard over lazy and talented. Squillaci is still rubbish, but like I said, he would at least attempt.

Denilson was first on my list to go before this even came out.

Mine is well. He is like Lucas without the work rate.

Lucas was actually pretty good this year for Pool.

I know. I really like Lucas, just saying they're basically the same player, Lucas works hard and tracks back which makes him a much better player.

Wasn't a shot at Lucas, even though it might have came off that way.

According to The Mirror, Wilshere and Carroll will not be playing for the England U21's this Summer. Or course, they say a lot of things, such as Cesc going to Barca for £50 million.
