We have to stop dropping games like this. This is why we don't win titles - we lose focus and this is what happens. I'm annoyed right now arrrgh

The weekend can't come soon enough lol
The weekend brings Birmingham, though. If we don't put yesterday behind us, Birmingham will surely be up enough to put us on our *** and take all three points.

However, I'm also just excited to hopefully pick up a win and forget yesterday for now.

Diaby will be out for a few more weeks. I'm nearing the point where I'd be 100% okay with selling him and buying a player in his place who isn't as injury prone.

Abou Diaby will be 'out for a while', according to Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger, after injuring his calf against Wigan

He's (Diaby) French... you know how that goes with Wenger, looks to French players first. Although Arsenal does have a nice mix of players.

Just would like for AW to get rid of Squillaci - even if we had to pay for him to go. Loan him out, anything! Just so us fans can to him.

Birmingham are poor though - yeah they've had results against Spurs and Man U, but they don't even try playing any sort of attacking football. Plus, we'll have RVP, Theo, Cesc, et al. back for this one. Hell, Squillaci will be sitting

As for Diaby, it's time to sell him - we have enough depth without him with the likes of Wilshere, Denilson, and Ramsey coming back at some point. I just want Wenger to sign someone with quality.

BTW, Nordtveit has left the team for a German side. Shame he never got much of a chance.

It's not so much he just goes to French players first, he just has an insane wealth of knowledge of French football. Just being French isn't enough...I hope.

As for Squillaci, does anyone know the terms of his contract? I don't see him being here next year and I really can not wait until we get The Verminator back.

Everyone is mentioning Squillacci when Koscielny is just as bad. We are once again barren at CB. Dijourou and Vermaelen is it.

I'll say it again and I hope I'm proved wrong but this team is the same team as last year. We aren't consistent enough or strong enough to win the premiership.

I guess I've felt Koscielny is a tad bit more consistent, but he's definitely not the Vermaelen signing I was hoping he'd be.

Looks like Almunia could finally be on his way out. Not sure how I feel about that. I certainly don't want to see him start, but I guess he provides decent cover for now. Oh well. I will not miss him.

On the positive side, we beat Birmingham today unlike Spurs, Chelsea, and United who did not. We took advantage of them and came out on top. Of course, it helps to have your first team out and guys like Arshavin and Squillaci on the bench!

The Man City game is huge this week. Definitely need to win that one to confirm us as legitimate title contenders.

Back to the subject of our defenders - I really hope Vermaelen comes back sooner than later. He's the one guy who can solidify our back line. While Koscielny hasn't been as bad as Squillaci, he's been mediocre at best. he does have some upside given that he's only 24-25 while Squillaci is 30.

Cesc and Nasri have made a deadly combo as of late. Their passing in the second half in and around the box was simply stunning.

While I'm not saying your wrong (I don't know enough to do that ), I do disagree that Koscielny is as bad. For sure I don't think that Koscielny is the player that any of our other backs are (Clichy, Verminator, Sagna or even Djourou), I think what makes him a better player than Squillacci is Laurent's decision making under pressure. He just doesn't seem to make the mistakes that SS makes... imo.

The Birmingham game should have been over in the first half... we looked good for most of the game and Fabianski didn't have much to do, while Djourou's Yellow should be allowed to be reviewed and given to the BC player! Complete dive!

Thats just not true, if anything Kosc is a much worse decision maker. He just happens to be young enough to make up for his mistakes a little bit better. He gets caught out of position way too much for a CB.

Hooray for a bit of justice. Bowyer has been charged with violent conduct.

The FA has been accused of showing leniency towards the bigger clubs by the Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish

                              lol

                              may i make a suggestion

the reason Kosc is out of position is he's covering up for his CB partner

the idea was to allow Vermalen to be the dominate centre back and nurse Kosc thro his first year or two instead he's stuck with an imobile lumb who was bought for defensive cover not as a first team player

as to the Wigan result bear in mind it was a two day break between games 8 changes and i have to say both AA Diaby and Denilson are such defensive liabilities off the ball its truely terrifing

the difference between our first team midfields effort and our reserves is beyond describtion

just watch Cesc pressing the deep lieing midfielder forcing the ball wide and the instant pressure from Walcott and Nasri as apposed to the "no after you" coverage from Asharvin and Rosicky

Walcott Song Cesc Wiltshire and Nasri press the ball so well thats what won the games vrs chelsea
It reminded me of Parlour Vierra and Petit(im ignoring the fact that Overmars made asharvin look like roy keene on 'roids) hunting in packs winning the ball and ripping the opposition to pieces

ive not had a chance to post here in a while so sorry for rolling a few points into one

We will definitely have to agree to disagree on that one goonerstaff. Kosc just isn't Arsenal quality. No matter who his CB partner is.
