Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***

I'm just going to keep repeating myself since none of it seems to getting through.

It's not surprising that he wants to leave. Him not signing last Summer or during this season was a pretty big sign. Nobody is saying that is shocking or that those who predicted it are incredible at knowing the future.

The issue in all of this, the sad thing in all of this is how he has gone about it. Really stop and think about what some of you are saying. There is not a chance the club knew he was going to make this statement. Not a chance. They would've made it themselves, or they would've kept everything in-house, and announced a transfer.

The club gains nothing from letting him announce on his website that he essentially wants to leave now. That is why the club is upset. Not that he wants to leave, but how he's chosen to do business. Like a total and complete dick.

None of this is hard to grasp. Of course he wanted to leave, we're going downhill. Nobody is arguing that. However, he's kicked **** on the club that has stood by him through countess injuries and paid him and stuck by him all through that time.

To not feel a little pissed at how he handled this if you're an actual Arsenal supporter boggles my mind. I'm not upset that he's leaving, I'm upset how he's chosen to do so. By using the media to force a transfer and release a statement behind the club's back.

You can say the club may have known the whole time, but it's illogical for them not to announce it themselves if they knew. Every report coming out states they were blindsided and at this point I'll believe that over RVP's lawyer written statement.

He has burned his bridges with me with this stunt. He could have went out like Fabregas instead he is going to go out just like Nasri. Absolutely despised by the supporters.

On a brighter note, Denilson's loan has been extended for 12 months.

Although it would just be nice to sell him.

I think we need to sell RVP to the highest bidder rather it be City or someone else. Because let's face it if City doesn't get RVP they will just end up getting some other top of the line striker. Then go out and grab someone like Lewandowski and M'Villa and go to war.

tbh it does not bother me much. i dunno maybe its because of my own personal business sense both in work experience and hopefully soon owning my own business. maybe rvp did not out right tell the club his exact intentions before he broke the news on the website. however im not naive enough to think that arsenal execs did not know this was going down. this is there job and if they didnt know then they are incompetant and need to be replaced.

this is a situation where they want to distance themselves from rvp as much as possible to get their stink off the whole thing. much like when lebron announced he was leaving cleveland. when the real fact of the whole situation was that they did not do enough to resign him and the fault is their own. no matter how much he so called betrayed the organization and the fans. this was a business decision and we have to accept that arsenal did not want his services badly enough. i cannot blame the player in this situation despite how he announced the decision.

but we should look on the brightside instead. if podolski and giroud do what we think they are capable of. then between the two we will have more goals / wins then just having rvp. and despite how badly you feel the bench is, they still are young and can still prove themselves. i think its still too early to judge. i know you guys may disagree but after the way last season ended i think this team could be on the verge. they just need player(s) to step up and play to their ability.

I can't state enough how much I disagree with this. If you think guys like Chamackh, Park, and Diaby are going to help us win things then you are more naive than you let on.

Seems like Arsenal's salary structure is a joke.
From the reports, they offered RVP 130k/week.
This is with Rooney and the Man C strikers all getting 200k+/week.

So, if you are RVP, winning the best player etc and you get offered half the salary of your peers, that is a total insult.

Arsenal cannot compete if they dont bump up their salary structure.
Time has moved on, top talent is no longer at 100k/week now.

That has been well known for awhile.

What is worse, is I'm sure RVP was making under 100k/week on his current deal.

The numbers were all talked about when Cesc left. Perhaps someone recalls. I just remember players like Bendtner making damn near as much as our top guys.

Our wage structure is not only flawed due to it's low amount, but also how we try and pay everyone near the same amount. It's become more and more clear over the last two years that the money issue isn't Arsene just not wanting to spend. It's the board not letting him.

If you have read this thread no one is arguing the fact that the wage structure is a joke. In fact I have been probably the number 1 guy against the clubs tight wad ways.

We are just disappointed with how RVP handled all of this. He genuinely seemed like he loved the club and we as supporters pretty much worshipped the guy this season. We know in the end it's a business but it doesn't make it suck any less. Especially after Cesc left last season.

We know exactly what is wrong with this club it has been stated in this very thread numerous times.

If we end up losing Walcott we need to open our eyes and see this club is just taking us for a ride and laughing all the way to the bank. If we can't even hold on to our English players, that says a lot right there.

I for one got into this sport to support a football club which this club used to be when David Dein was. I did not sign up for following a money hoarding corporation that is only concerned with making money, which this club is right now.

lol cmon now im criticizing him just as much as you guys and the press. we just dont agree on how rvp decided to leave. maybe i just dont have that kind of emotional attachment to the guy when i already figured he had long term plans without arsenal.

i do have mixed feeling for kroenke though. on one hand i feel he has great business sense although he is a bit of an opportunist. and on the other hand i think letting these guys go wasnt in the best interest of the club. i mean you can find other ways to pay their salaries till the big pay off comes.

i really dont want to get into a flame war, but werent you just complaining about clubs opening up their wallets to buy titles ? if i was looking to buy stock in a company or a team for that matter, i would be looking at the ones that manage their money wisely. why? because i know i would be making money. i wouldnt invest in clubs that have to have their cities bail them out like barca and real madrid. i dont care how many titles they have won or could win.

I'm not looking to buy stock in a club I'm looking for a team that wants to win things. And teams like City and Chelsea are killing the game for ME mainly because I now follow a cheap skate club.

If you judge a football club in terms of there bottom line then we just have different opinions on what we want out of this team. Because I know I would trade places with Madrid and Barcelona in a heartbeat.
