This sounds pretty promising. Especially that if he does come, there is great potential he could stay.
Yeah does sound promising I like Sahin and bolstering Arsenal's midfield is always a plus. Also, why do I keep hearing Alex Song may leave for Barca, I hope this is not true, how do you guys feel if he leaves?

Hmm I haven't watched are followed much of Bartley but I hear he is pretty promising. If he is in the first team this year that means we get to see more of him.

No offense, but if Ivan Gazidas is any indication of the minds running MLS. I'm not going to hold the MLS executives opinion of how European football runs in that high regard.

It would be devastating, as he was our second best player last year.

no offense to your boss. but i dont think he is not seeing the big picture. clubs like arsenal, man u, maybe liverpool (we will see) are being financial responsible and looking at the long term. like kreb said they are staying afloat atop of the premier league with a much lower salary budget.

its only a matter of bad chemistry and injuries and next thing you know man city and chelsea are in a dog fight with these clubs. what happens when they cant win? i mean when you are on top, there is only one way to go. how about if they cant win in 3 or 4 seasons and can no longer afford their players wages and players have lost alot of value ? how about when they cant win and make the mistake of still buying players at a premium and still on this downward spiral of collapse ?

if you follow mlb, the phillies are the perfect example of this exact scenario. more reason why i like the mls approach with salary caps.

it wont be long when this game is going to be about buying talent at value and not at a premium. i dont like the long term outlook on some of these clubs. in fact if i own stock in them, i would be looking to sell within the next two to three years because i dont think they can maintain this level for much longer then that.

I agree, M'Vila while I think he is solid DMF if purchasing him it shouldn't be to replace Song. Song I don't think he is a true DMF, last season proved that when you saw Arteta being much more of the holding midfielder than him but we have to hold on to Song he has great potential going for him and his passing was deadly last season.

Many people are assuming he is leaving with Arsenal trying to secure Sahin but I am not sure Arsenal's midfield looks very packed at the moment; Song, Ramsey, Arteta, Diaby, Carzola (AMF and Winger), also the injured Wilshere and Rosicky also the possibility of Sahin. I can't imagine Wenger letting Song leave so easily it would be very silly for him to do so.

Sahin would be brought in as Rosicky and Wilshere are not starting the season fit. This leaving Cazorla, Diaby and Aretea. Not good enough.

If Song were to leave, which I doubt he is this year, then we'd have to buy someone with some defensive qualities.

                        Coquelin and/or Frimpong?

Turns out Songs contract runs until 2015. He's not leaving for anything less than stupid money, which Barca isn't going to spend on him.

Good. We need Song's service into the box for Podolski/Giroud.

Both are a few years away from making that spot theirs.

It looks as if Wigan are close to signing Ryo Miyaichi from you guys on a season loan.
