Classic goal conceded by us.
What the hell was Sagna's clearance? It was a pass to Southampton.
Just...wow. I don't understand how we can be this bad at defending sometimes. I just don't get it.Comment

Arsenal games on ESPN3 always make my week. On the couch, on the 360, in HD. So wonderful.
Second best is often FoxSoccer2Go, so I can watch it on my computer.
Third, is FSC, which means a trip to the parents. However, they finally have it in HD.
It'll be several years, but we'll inevitably get to the point of all EPL games being readily available on tv for everyone in the US.Comment

What are your guys' thoughts on the club opting against bringing Henry back again on loan?
IMO, I think that ship has sailed. You just signed Gibbs, Wilshere, Ramsey, Chamberlain and Jenkinson to long term-deals. Walcott looks as if a new deal is going to happen shortly. You are building a great young squad, what is the point of bringing in a legend again for what 6 weeks? Henry was brilliant for the premier League and for Arsenal but it was time to move on.Comment

All I'm saying is, the man is 35 years old now. You are building a young and exciting team. There is money to spend (not sure how much) so why not buy some players who are going to be with the club past the month of March?Comment

I'm more than alright with it. Are we going to bring him back each time this team shows a lack of mental strength?
We need to permanently bring in players who can contribute at a very high level. Not just take up a place on the bench.
Henry's feel good moment was last year, its time to move on. He'll be back with the club in the future in a non-playing role, and that will be great. Until then, its time we do real solutions to our issues.Comment

Its not like building a young team and bringing in a legend on loan is detrimental to each other or anything. I can see your point if they were trying to lure him back full time.
to me the biggest question is the direction they want to build this franchise. do we dump money into developing high quality youth players, or do we aggressively (in our own way) go after players through transfer. We have a solid foundation of young players whom I feel will bridge the gap between us staying at #4 and actually making a championship run.
my gut feeling says that if we go after a few higher quality players next season, we might be able to make that run. although i wonder if that is a financial risk they want to take.Comment

Yes, we do need to permanently bring on players who contribute at a very high level, but if Henry can help us out in an area of need, then we should jump at the chance. I would be disappointed if Henry coming back was the only thing we did this January, but we need more finishing, and Henry can provide that. If he comes on the heels of one or two signings, I would welcome him with open arms.
I'm not against bringing in help. I'm against bringing in temporary, sentimental help, as opposed to a current and future solution.Last edited by Krebstar; 01-03-2013, 11:10 AM.Comment
