Why is your best keeper third string?

Valiant effort by arsenal. But digging ourselves a hole again is, and has been a problem for us. Also, we still had problems with bayern's pressing, giving the ball up easily and making bad decisions for much of the match (which only led to robben and kroos mooning balls over the goal post all night.)

Chill, he had one good game. Plus he has been injured for the better part of the past year and half.

I'm happy with the win, obviously would've been happier with advancing, but it was nice to see the team show up to a game, and take the game in Bayern. I hoped for a close result, so a 2-0 victory when we're missing Wilshere, Sagna, Podolski, SZCZ and Monreal(meh) is something I'm definitely okay with.

At this point I didn't care or not if we advanced, but instead wanted something to give us confidence going into the weekend. So I'm fairly happy, even though we're out of another competition. Although we were pretty much already out of it.

I'd like to hope this was a morale boost, but given how inconsistent this team can be, who knows. Still, it was nice to watch an Arsenal side that showed and won against a quality opponent for a change.

Enjoyed watching the game, not so much the amount of pressure our back 4 were under for much of it, but it was nice to see them win - even though it wasn't "enough".

I thought Per and Kos played really well together, and dare say that was the big German's best game (that I've seen anyway) since he's been with Arsenal. Blocking shots, covering Carl, and playing in position was a welcome change.

Do hope that the win can carry-over to the game at Swansea, and just make this team realize that they are a quality side, no matter who they have in the starting XI.

I agree about Mertesacker and Koscielny. Both played very well with crucial tackles and blocking of many shots. They will have to be on top of their game at the Liberty Stadium as Michu has caused you guys havoc this campaign.

that is true about Michu... but I think that the clean sheet was a "bigger deal" than perhaps even the fact that they found a way to win. If any confidence can be had from winning and NOT advancing is that they got 2 on a mighty darn good side and more importantly - kept them from putting one in the net, on a lot of shots to boot.

Jenkinson played well (as he usually does) but wore himself out and wasn't getting back as quickly in the last 15-20 minutes of the match as he did for the first 3/4 of the game. He has to either make fewer deep runs, or just dig deep to get back. I like him in the side, but Sagna is missed - especially in the last 20-30 minutes of the match.

I'll be happy to see TV5 on the bench. He has not played well at all recently.

As for Swansea, at least we came out on top the last time we played, and had a clean sheet.

I feel good about tomorrow. Does that mean I should feel bad? Damnit.

                        Gervinho can score!

                        But Monreal had the winner.

We're still in this, and by this, I mean our yearly "trophy" hunt.

                        Only four points behind Spurs.

And there is less of a threat from behind, as Liverpool loses to Southampton.

                              Fantastic.

If somebody asked me to picked the two goal scorers prior to the match, those would have been my least likely picks.
