Irony at its finest....

We host Napoli on August 3rd as part of Emirates Cup. Wonderful.

Suarez to Real makes way more sense than him coming to Arsenal. Why would they sell their best player to their competition?

If we are gonna spend that kind of money, I would rather trigger Felliani's clause instead of Suarez. Let Podolski have some time as striker.

because he is psychotic and could possible destroy their rival team, maybe the bpl in general, and who knows perhaps the universe while he is at it?

Exactly. I'd rather see us spend that kind of money on a defensive mid, defender, and perhaps a winger who can slot in if Podolski goes up front.

The Ox wouldn't be a bad candidate, but I think Arsene sees him as a central midfielder. Cazorla is another option and either Ramsey or Rosicky play central with Wilshere and Arteta.

I think you'd all come down off your high horse the minute the second-best player in the league from last season joined your team and started banging in goals. Trust me, you don't get a disease from cheering for the guy

I hope like hell if we do sell him it's not to Arsenal or any other EPL team.

I think I would be okay with Rooney now that Higuain is out of question.

I just want to make it clear, are you guys for or against signing Suarez?

Against. I would rather have the money spent on other needs the team has.

For 40 million plus we could get a central defender and a defensive midfielder. I know they want a striker but Giroud for me plus Theo and Podolski could hold the fort until we find one valuable. Please Arsene, don't buy Suarez. Buy Cesc back instead lol

I'm personally a fan of Suarez, even though he is a bit crazy! Everyone saying they don't want him would soon change their tone if he came and started scoring goals. People do need to get off their high horse and realise that he's one of the best players in the world, regardless of the incidents he's had!

To me it's not about Suarez at all but what this team is lacking. Right now this team is short on defenders and defensive midfield.

First, the stats show Suarez is not as good as his reputation: http://www.7amkickoff.com/2013/top-r...im-to-higuain/

Second, the guy is suspended until October and likely will get banned again on more than one occasion for being racist/bitey. No, you don't get a disease from cheering for the guy, and yes, Arsenal have had troubled players in the past. But I don't want the team spending 40mil+ on a guy with those troubles when you could bring in an equivalently talented player who won't act racist/bitey. A player who won't go and get himself suspended.

Third, to lighten things up, John Henry had an interesting question to ask of Arsenal's transfer bid for Suarez:

What do you think they're smoking over there at Emirates?
— John W. Henry (@John_W_Henry) July 24, 2013

EDIT: It seems Tim already posted the JWH tweet in the Liverpool thread.

And if he gets suspended again for racism, or biting (it's now happened twice), you'd be saying the same thing?

None of us are saying he's not good. He's a fantastic player.

We're saying we don't want his incidents, distractions, and general craziness despite him being one of the best in the world.

As a club who has not been able to spend a lot due to the stadium (yes, I truly believe that), I don't want to see us finally spend big on a player who can't guarantee he won't be on the field due to disciplinary reasons.

I don't see what is wrong with wanting to be proud of the players at the club you support. I'd be saying the same things if we were making bids for Joey Barton.

Is everyone at the club now a perfect model of how a player should behave? Absolutely not, but none are close to the level of disgrace that Suarez has shown himself to be.

Suarez and AFC to hold talks?
