Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
But the fact that we seem to be on the verge of a £23 million signing in Higuain, plus paying him £100,00+ a week is a good sign if it all happens.
Not to mention, an apparent £18.5 million bid for Lars Bender.
I still think we spend, and bring in three players. In terms of when we do business, it still seems pretty damn early.Comment

From Sky:
The plot thickens in Arsenal's pursuit of Gonzalo Higuain. The Real Madrid striker's father and agent Jorge has been vocal in saying a deal is close, but the Spanish giants' president Florentino Perez has told Univision that the London club haven't even made a bid for him...
We don't want Higuain to leave. What's more, no-one from Arsenal has come to us and made us any offers at all for him. There are no offers on the table.Comment

Right. His agent/father wouldn't constantly discuss the deal and describe it as being close if Arsenal had made absolutely no approach for the player. I'd bet, as you said, the two clubs are negotiating the fee, and the agent/father quotes are a way to use the press to put pressure on RM to make the deal happen.Comment
