That's the thing with Almunia, his set pieces are brutal. I've been watching the Milan matches too and I do think Senderos is better. Hopefully, he can do the same if he returns next season.

I am also curious to see how Nordveit does when he comes back. He's supposed to be a very good young defender

BTW - after this weekend, I can say this.....CESC is BACK!!!!!

Don't understand why Alex Song has been in and out of the lineup for you guys lately. He seems to be quite solid and appears to me the best option to replace Flamini. He didn't play yesterday and didn't play in the FA Cup game against Chelsea.

Hopefully he is just being rested for the upcoming CL fixtures. As he has been our best DM by a pretty good margin the last few months.

Yeah he is probably being rested but Alex Song has come along way this season, hopefully he can carry his good form into next season and become even better.

Song has been awesome the last few months while Denilson has been brutal. He gives the ball away waay too much. I think Song is our future DM

Good luck tomorrow at Trafford. I think you guys have an advantage having the second leg at the Emirates.

Just heard however that you have suffered another injury. Arsene Wenger has pulled a hammy practicing his victory dance with Adebayor, Eboue and Song.

I hope so, but the way Arsenal's back four can play sometimes can be an adventure. I'd love to see an Arsenal-Barca final though...with the Gooners coming out on top this time around

I wonder what the odds are on Silvestre scoring the winner against his old chums?

Its amazing what a difference a few months make.

I think just about all of us were calling for his head in December.

                        its always the same mate

if you want to discuss the quality of a player and he's 21 then we should all bear in mind that the peek years for a footballer are 28-32 (not counting keepers who take another 2-4 years)
so when we all give Dennilson shed loads of abuse bear in mind he's got another 7 years to develope yet. Same as well all of them except Manual Gallas Kolo and our little russian mascot.

As too tonight except an absolute kicking im afraid, no Gael no Gibbs this gives us a choice of Silvetre, Dennilson or song at Left back against Ronaldo God save us. I will happily take a 2-1 loss right now. Home leg we should have Gibbs and possibly Gael back
                        "whats wrong with him?"
                        "he's got a concussion boss"
                        "can he play?"
"boss he does nt know who he is!"
"well tell him he's Pele and get him fecking back on"

Patrice Evra, Wayne Rooney and Gunners trio Abou Diaby, Alexandre Song and Samir Nasri all are on yellow cards. If they get one tonight they are out of the second leg.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of them get one, don't want to risk missing the final (if they make it).

Our midfield outside of Nasri were atrocious tonight. Especially Diaby and Song. Diaby's touch let him down on numerous occasions and Song was caught in possession way too often.

The back 4 were pretty decent considering that they were pretty much always defending because of our midfield. Alumina of course is the only reason this tie is even in question. He played out of his mind today.

I must say Kieran Gibbs was pure class tonight. 19 years old, playing in a Champion's League semi final at Old Trafford and having to mark Cristiano Ronaldo. Thought he did a great job.
