Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
I'm going to miss Toure. The last of our Invincibles.
However, I think it's a good business move, Toure hasn't been the same ever since he got malaria and I think Gallas is the better defender right now (he showed way more determination after the armband moved to Cesc). I doubt Arsene will buy anymore and if he does it'll be one player. He's already said he wants to pay off our stadium debt and that means we'll have to sell each year and only buy sporadically. I'd love to go out and get Hangeland and Huntelaar, but I don't see it happening.
I'm not too optimistic about this season, hopefully I'm wrong though.Comment

Rumours in the papers are saying Wenger wants to bring Viera back! He has never replaced him so he thinks this is the best solution. I think he's about past it to be honest.Comment

I can name one player that I think might surprise us Arsenal fans next season, and I have to say it might be Denilson. He had a tough season last year, he could do something special this yearthat is of course Song has a breakout season.

He just needs to came out and say what everybody already knows. That we're broke."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."

I'm not an Arsenal supporter, however I think they'll surprise this year. It seems like alot of pundits are dropping Arsenal from the top 4 and putting them behind Man City. I honestly don't see it.
I expect a HUGE season from Arshavin. He's world class. Nasri and Walcott will improve. If another striker isn't brought in, I think Bendtner is good for atleast 15 Premiership goals. Eduardo and Rosicky will be 100% this year. They have enough in attack to lead the Premiership in goals, especially if they bring another striker.
The defense is what I'm concerned with. Losing Toure hurts, but will they buy a replacement or go with what they have?
I think Arsenal should try to buy Huntelaar from Real Madrid. He has done nothing but score goals everywhere he's been. Who do guys think?Comment

Arseblog reports that Phillipe Senderos has been sold to Everton. Now I'm really curious to see what -- if anything -- Arsene does before the window closes...Comment

What he said... the kid looked amazing. Rosicky's performance is also worth mentioning; he looked to be moving well with no hesitancy when it came to a challenge (realize it wasn't exactly a Premier League battle) and seemed rather sharp on the ball for all the time he missed.

I have to remind myself it's just pre-season, but the team looked great. Even Eboue. My one concern is that were times when the defense broke down allowing a should-have-been-a-goal counter attack and this problem plagued them last year. While I think their defense is fine as is (in regards to the starters) I see a lack of depth and that killed them at the end of last season."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."
