It's been a rough few days for me as a fan... the Penguins go down 2-0 and now the Gunners **** the bed in the CL semifinal at home. As much as I hate to admit it, I turned the DVR off after Ronaldo's FK goal to make it 2-0. Ugh...

I think that yestherday we saw the end of the Wenger Young Arsenal era as you can see what happen with 19 year old gibbs , yea he slip and that could happen to any player but it happened to the 19 years old and thats what people will remember. he could have start toure at left back but he didnt and I think next season arsenal wont be the same team we saw for the past trophyless 5 years.
nasri was absent and hes been absent for a long time doesnt get iself involve enough, the midfield lacked creativity and the free flowin football get stuck in the third of the field.
Its a shame really ,but But I think Arsenal need to admit, you cant win trophys with youngsters.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
ok let me just fill in a few blanks
Wenger convinced himself that after watching spain win the Euro's with finese and pace that he could win at Arsenal with 4 lightweight swift silky players. He has said as much in 2 or 3 interviews given in france this season
he has admitted that he's made two mistakes this season
not having enough power ala viera and petit and a lack of older heads sprinkled throu the team. he hinted at this in his post match briefing last night and its a rumor thats been doing the rounds since Pat Rice let slip in an interview 2-3 weeks ago
so is this the darkness before the dawn ?
are we going to go out and spend £40 million on a centre back partner for Toure ?
a ball winning midfielder/Defensive midfielder? to bully the opposition and another older flair player to go with Asharvin.
Both legs against Manure, the Chelsea semi and Liverpool away showed that we are not on a par with these teams, the way we destroyed Portsmouth on saturday shows quite clearly that our reserves are a match for most Premier teams.
So the good news we have 40 million to spend
Wenger has seen the effect of Asharvin and our lack of "steel"
Cesc has already said he's not leaving for Barca(mainly because he would nt start)and he would nt go anywere else.
Some Clubs are still Interested in Adi and are interested in offering £15 million plus(fools)
So lets get ourselves settled down for what should be a great off season and lets try and avoid the "its so and so's fault sack/sell them" honestly if I have to remind one more person about Charlton and Alan Curbishley i'll scream"whats wrong with him?""he's got a concussion boss""can he play?""boss he does nt know who he is!""well tell him he's Pele and get him fecking back on"BFR manager of WBA 1978Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
Yesterday was very disappointing as a fan. However, I do think before Gibbs' mistake Arsenal were starting to get in rhythm passing the ball around and moving. That goal along with Ronaldo's after took the life out of that team.
I don't see the issue as being solely on the fact that we don't have any experienced players. The issue for me with Arsenal has always been a lack of depth in the squad. We were missing Gallas and Clichy who are experienced and solid players in the back 4. That's why Arsenal aren't on par with Liverpool, United and Chelsea yet.
In terms of the midfield, the team does need a Vieira type of player and a good central defender as well as getting some depth in the squad. Wenger should continue building through the young players because while it's hard to see now after a bad loss, these guys will be very good. Look at how long it took for Cristiano Ronaldo to get really good. He joined the team in 2003 and it wasn't until 4 years later that he started being talked about as one of the best players in the world. This team isn't far away and if I were Liverpool, Man United, or Chelsea, an Arsenal team with more experience and depth will be much betterComment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
rumours suggest that Ramos is leaving Real Madrid for an as yet unnames north London team who play in red and white
more totally unconfirmable rumours to follow
to be fair this is the same guy who told me 2 months b4 it happened that Sol was leaving the lane for The Arsenal and that Davor Suker would be playing for the Arsenal. Mind you he did tell me Ribary had signed 2 years ago so who knows"whats wrong with him?""he's got a concussion boss""can he play?""boss he does nt know who he is!""well tell him he's Pele and get him fecking back on"BFR manager of WBA 1978Comment

With that said I see no way that Madrid sells Ramos. Especially with Canavarro and Heinze on the way out and now Pepe has fell off the rocker.
Also gooner I agree with everything you said in your post prior to this. I think Wenger has to see that this team had and has a ceilling right now and for few a years too come. And that ceilling was reached this season.
The fact of the matter is that we are not on the same level as the top Clubs in the World right now. If Wenger wants to finally realize his dream of winning a Champions League he needs to get more quality experienced players. I think seeing what Arshavin has done since he's been here has finally opened the Proffessors eyes to that."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
Theo Walcott has signed a new "long-term" contract. I read the article rather quickly, so I didn't catch the length. Not that it really matters anyways, it was just important that he sign a new deal so he couldn't do the buy out or leave on a Bosman.
Hopefully RVP does as well, or I'm really going to regret not listening to Acid when it came to which player shirt to get. I let my wife make the final call, so it's her fault if he leaves...Comment

Then my Arsenal jerseys will be: Cesc, Vela, Walcott, and Arshavin. I kind of want to get a Bendtner jersey too, more for comedy but whatever.Blind to this impending fate

You could probably find a Bendtner jersey on the clearance rack. Right beside the Rosicky ones."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."
