I thought Ospina had a really poor game. He came out for too many balls he shouldn't have, and it almost cost us.

On a more positive note, it's great seeing Giroud in this kind of form.

Well having Alexis, Ozil and Welbeck feeding him does help!! Welbeck has been undroppable for me since January. I know he wants to play down the middle, but he's so damn good down the left side and an absolute menace to Right Backs.

I think we will be revisiting the GK situation this summer. Ospina is a good option, but won't win us the league. Getting the midfield anchor, figuring out who's in and who's out at RB and getting another forward (Reus, Draxler, Cavani, etc) are probably tops before that.

Time to focus on the League and the FA Cup. That was an awful performance.

It doesn't get any worse on defense than what happened on Monaco's 2nd goal. There are 4 Arsenal players just sleepwalking as a player is coming at them for a counter. Unbelievable.

This one was a special kind of horrible because they were in fine position to stop it, they just all brain farted at the same time.

                  "what a fecking disaster

                  all weaknesses exposed

                  giroud misses sitters
                  Özil disappears
caz muscled off ball by physical mids
                  mertesacker tunes out
full backs caught upfield and give the ball away needlessly
                  Wenger completely out foxed"

"When will this idiot realise that what he's trying does not ******* work? He tried it at the start of the season and it cost us any chance of the title.

So what does he do? Does it again and puts us out of the CL.

What will he do next? Do it again at Old Trafford and put us out of the FA cup."

"Arsenal under Wenger, and i'm ******* sick of it."

"Im so sick of this Arsenal under Wenger. I feel as desperate as I ever have as a fan. How anyone can have a shred of belief in this man is bewildering. Truly ******* bewildering."

"Arsène Wenger is the team's manager. That's why.

As you say, zero tactical discipline and in-game management. Every time the cameras cut to him on the bench he looked clueless and passive.

I can't believe some people still pretend he's not the issue. Even after all these years and repeated embarrassments.

The players change, but two things remain the same: the manager and the results."

Agree with all of the above, sums it all up really.

How are you going to blame Arsene for Ground missing sitters? He was in form going into it and had chances early to put Monaco behind the 8ball but missed. I know Ox scored a lovely goal but he was horrible too and the last goal was on him. 1st goal...just unlucky. The 2nd goal was the only one that you could 100% fault the defender (Per) for getting caught out. Just take the foul and the yellow. Kosc was in that 2-on-1 FIFA position where the only thing you can do is try to hold it up and wait for help.

Santi has been your best player lately and I thought he put in another great shift. You just didn't put away your chances. I think I saw 7 or 8 shots in the 1st half w/o any on target.

                    That's on the players

How can you not blame Wenger? These losses happen time and time again. He can't motivate his players and his team selection is beyond ridiculous. Coquelin gets isolated all the time. How's the first goal unlucky, nobody even pressures Kandogbia. We leave massive gaps because Wenger can't be bothered to tell Gibbs and Bellerin to stay the **** back, add to that Cazorla playing the 8 and we're just way too offensive. We get found out on the counter time and time again. Wenger just fails to motivate and set-up his team and that is on him. He plays everyone outof position too. Why not just play Rosicky next to Coq and bench either Özil or Cazorla. I don't care how good their form is right now. Welbeck on the right and he does **** all. Why not start Theo? Why's Wilshere not on the bench, ... Wenger has been underachieving for years now. Ultimately, Mourinho is right about Wenger. The constant here is that the players change, but the manager stays the same and the results stay the same too.

Because Wenger wasn't out there blowing chances left & right like Giroud and he made the right sub, bringing on Theo who looked good, getting behind Monaco's LB 3 or 4 times with his pace. You guys started Welbeck-Giroud-Sanchez with Ozil in his preferred role behind the ST. The problem is you can't drop Santi because like I said, he's been great so he went all out attack thinking that Berbatov is no threat to get in behind and will play as a false 9 or extra MF which he did. Giroud was horrible, Ozil his disappearing self, Walcott & Sanchez off pace. You really want Rosicky in the midfield? Theo can't play 90 minutes and doesn't offer protection for Bellerin.

You came into the match winning 9 out of 10 across all comps and since Stoke back in early Dec you've only failed to win 3 times but Arsenal fans don't wanna hear that, they want to blame Wenger when his players have a horrible game. 12 shots by Giroud/Welbeck/Sanchez with only 2 ON TARGET. Welbeck had a chance early when he turned the CB but took an extra touch and skied it into the crowd. Later he shot a gimme goal into Walcott who was on the ground. I could write a book about Giroud's misses.

On a night where your guys finish like they're supposed to and/or are capable of it's 2-0 early and Monaco lays down trying to not let it get worse. You pressed at the end and got caught out by Carasco to put the nail in the coffin. You guys didn't get beat in the midfield, you dominated possession and got beat because you pushed too far upfield a few times, missed chances, and caught Monaco on a night where they finished well.

The only deep seated problem is the manager and that is so deep that the only way to rectify it is to either get rid, or he brings in specialist coaches that can teach the squad how to win certain types of games.

The problems are endemic at Arsenal and as long as Wenger is manager they'll never go away.

Structurally the team has had deep flaws for several years now:

                          1. When facing technically adept teams that defend deep. e.g Monaco & UTD. on any given occasion, we get burnt on the counter over & over.

                          2. Our ability to press, counter press in an organized manner has been inconsistent.

                          3. Our inability to manage games where teams press us and play around, through or over the press have been lacking for years. i.e Sp*rs (a), Dortmund (a) this year, Liverpool (a)

                          4. Our inability to manage games to a conclusion and protect leads (although stats show that we had not lost a match when leading at 1/2 time was impressive until the Sp*rs game). We've seen cluster****s on a worldly level e.g. Newcastle & Anderlecht.

                          5. Our inability to absorb pressure and hurt teams on the counter has been lacking for a while now. We've seen glimpses of it in recent times but it's far from ideal.

                          6. Our consistent ability to press the self-destruct button e.g-too many to mention

With regard to the level of talent in the current squad, I'd have to say that Wenger has seriously underperformed in recent years and had he been a more cagey manager who could instill "good practice" into his charges then we'd have done much better during the barren years.

There are too many examples of idiotic defending & damning results to list-last night was just the latest.

I don't blame Wenger for the loss, because if Giroud finishes his sitters the match finishes 3-3. Yes, the second goal for Monaco was horrid defending (thanks largely to Mertesacker stupidly leaving his man to try and strip the ball from a midfielder higher up the pitch, leading to the 2 on 1), but we dominated possession and had more chances. Usually the story with Arsenal is dominated possession, few chances, and a resulting loss. Here Arsenal got the chances they wanted, chances strikers dream of, and couldn't put them in the net. Incredibly frustrating, infuriating, but not Wenger's fault.

The fact we concede that third one is TOTALLY on Wenger. Jesus, you guys going for ifs and buts, we DID NOT score three. And there will be days where the ball doesn't want to go in but what happens at Arsenal FC is as soon as they get unlucky in any way, they let their heads down and bottle it. Our defensive shape was shambolic. Wenger should have told his players to sit deep after the 1-2, 1-2 you're still in the tie, 1-3 no.
