Our defensive shape was shambolic. Wenger should have told his players to sit deep after the 1-2, 1-2 you're still in the tie, 1-3 no.
So it's Wenger's fault that Ox committed a turnover (actually 2 on the play) while pushing for a vital 2nd goal that you desperately needed. To top it off, Ox doesn't even hustle back letting Carasco pretty much run free to goal. Carasco's fast and some fresh as a late sub but he so was Ox. Lastly, you could put some blame on Ospinna as it was somewhat saveable.

After scoring your goal the momentum and crowd were with you. No manager, with what they feel is a superior squad AT HOME, is going to sit back and take a 1-2 loss and not push for the 2nd goal.

As much as Wednesday sucked, today was a very pleasing result.

We never had a chance at winning big in Europe, so as much as that result stung, today's great league result has already made me forget about it. We're still in a great position to finish 3rd or 4th, and I'd much rather see that than us go deeper into the CL.

As for Per, as much as I love him, I'm fine with him on the bench with Gabriel starting. He looked great out there today.

What a tackle, and props to Lukaku for staying on his feet and not going down.

Also, Spurs failed to win a trophy today. Ha.

Giroud was abysmal on Wednesday, but his goal tonight was fantastic. Let's hope Wednesday was a momentary blip in the radar and he keeps his tremendous scoring rate going.

Also, Ospina has been way too aggressive for my tastes. He got away with it this time, but he always takes big risks with his rushing out and punching. He's made mistakes already this season, but I'm afraid this could come up in huge match and cost us dearly. I like Ospina, but he would better if he toned down the aggressiveness just a bit.

Lol!! He scared the bejeezus out of me when he rushed out and touched the ball away from Lukaku. . .

AND THEN he takes off after the ball - way outside the 18 - and I'm yelling at the TV (by now, not freaking my wife out) as if I'm coaching the keeper and he's gonna hear me. Ha!!
Low and behold, he makes a great tackle on Lukaku. Maybe goalies are right, they make the best field players!

It's absurd that after all these years we still don't have our keeper situation figured out.

Per BBC Match of the Day: Mesut Ozil ran further than any other player in this game at 11.6km and has 5 assists in 12 league games this season.

"But...but...but he's lazy and not very good!"- ignorant fans.

It's not just fans, it's damn near every color commentator that I hear on games. I'm pretty sure if he was English he'd be heralded as being able to play and create chances "with ease" and that "it's so effortless to him" and other crap like that.

"He just doesn't seem like he cares...Doesn't look like it matters to him...Doesn't seem to be bothered."

It's ****ing ridiculous. Just because he doesn't charge at keepers like Carlos Tevez, he's not working hard? His own statistics, and those of the team when he's in the side do enough talking.

We'd be much, much worse off without him at the club.

Yesterday was another nerve wracking game. Monster strike from Austin.

However, Gabriel is out 3 weeks with a hamstring injury. Arsenal DNA. Still don't know how Alexis scored that goal.

"Three weeks". Ugh. I guess at least Chambers can still rotate in if needed. Gabriel has been playing great, too. It's clear that him and Kos are the first choice pairing.

                    The Alexis goal, though...geez.

Match day. I have my new Alexis kit ready to go (the new ones are really light).

                          Sweet Jesus....

I have never, in all my years seen such a disorganized, ill disciplined, and floppy United team like this before. As much as people gave Moyes hell, they better hold VanGaal's feet to the fire to what we saw.

                          Back to Arsenal...

"We're going to Wembley!!" "Sera, sera, whatever will be, will be!!"

Also, felt really good for Welbeck getting that goal. He worked hard all night and got a great reward. I know he felt good sticking it to Van Gaal. I hope we can keep building on this squad and get that killer instinct to kill games off like this and leave no hope to our opponents.

In my opinion he was not THAT good. I respect him for not being afraid to go against United but Bellerin should have been off, Rojo and Fellaini as well and Rooney should have been booked for getting in Oliver's face everytime he called a foul.

I like where we're going as our form lately has been excellent, we seem to be capable of grinding out victories whilst playing like **** (Crystal Palace, QPR, ...). It feels like we're slowly progressing each year and I'd gladly take an FA Cup plus third place, not where we should be in the league as the almighty Arsenal but it's progress nonetheless. This might sound deluded but had Wenger not criminally screwed up the start of the season with his 4-1-4-1 with Flam as DM we might have been still in the race for the league title. Bringing Coq back was a great idea, wish he would have been here from the start of the season. Absolutely love the guy and I hope Wenger leaves le Coq in there next season and brings in someone like Khedira or Schneiderlin who can play both the 6 and 8 position. I'd still like to see Wenger leave at the end of the season but I'm not sure who we could bring in and I doubt he won't see out the remainder of his contract. We're going nowhere but up lads.

Coq had looked anything but impressive in his prior stints in the Arsenal side, so I don't blame Wenger at all for loaning Coq out. In my opinion, the blame lies with Wenger not buying a DM over the summer, thus necessitating Coq's recall from loan. That Coq has been impressive has been a most pleasant surprise, and if he keeps playing like this Wenger may not even need to buy a DM this summer.
